This record is one of Victor's one sided red labels. I think they changed to a two sided red label when they made the change to microphones instead of megaphones. I don't remember your song in my collection, but I will start looking for it. I have records that I have never played, and I have several that are minstrel show songs. I try to post a new record every Friday evening to put up on my blog. Thanks for listening! David N

I used to have a copy of this,mine was a two sided record,but it got broke.I am a big Alma Gluck fan.Did you know that she was the first artist to sell a million copies of a record on the RCA Red label.Just thought you would like to know.

My favorite record when I was a kid was Singing in the Bathtub. It was broken and I have been looking for another copy ever since. I will keep looking, but we may need the help of another collector. I have a couple more Almas I can put up. I think that people did not let their kids play these Red Labels, so they seem to have less wear than the plain label records. I read about Alma on the internet. Sad end.

David, they were making two sided records for over a decade before the use of microphones(1925). Victor did continue to issue some one sided red seals into the early 20's. It was more due to marketing more than anything. Tim Gracyk has a good book on early recording artists and has some great info in it.
