  • Oh god they look so awful. I can't image what it was like to lose someone so close. Freddie was a part of their family.Brave of them. They knew they had to do it sooner or later, the British Bastards of the Press being what they are, they would've hounded them day and night and then probably made a load of shit up. I HATE THE PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND GOOD GOD MAN...STOP SMILING!!! The greatest rock entertainer and their best friend has just died...show some GOD DAMN RESPECT. MOTHERFU**ER

  • @neintoten Oh my god. People like you are the reason the world is going to hell. Freddie Mercury did NOT deserve to die from this illness, no one who is infected with it deserves to die (No matter how they contracted it) It isn't a "faggot" disease as ANYONE can get it, in fact more Heterosexual people contract it now than homosexual people. You are evil and vile. You are an ignorant homophobic bas*ard and Freddie Mercury was a more decent human being than you will ever be.

  • Sadly, all these years later, the press is still as ruthless as they were then. Now with the internet, ordinary folk can spew the vile and ignorance that I so often read here on Youtube. The hateful comments I've so often read about Freddy here make me sick to my stomach. Freddy was one of the most talented musicians off all time. More importantly he was a kind, generous person who did NOT deserve to die a premature and painful death.

God bless Freddy's loyal family, friends, and fans.

  • You can see that the host of this show is just eating this up.

  • When they're both introduced, they look like death (pardon the irony). They're clearly not comfortable

  • Quite sad that in twenty years, nothing has changed with the British press.

  • I love how Brian & Roger are taking care of each other; they are sitting so close their elbows are touching & Brian keeps looking at Roger to see how he's getting on. Brian looks just as devastated as Roger but it always came across, to me, that Roger & Freddie were incredibly close - they are always gurning at the camera & messing about in videos together. I was 6 when Freddie Mercury died & I remember the day. I'm still a massive Queen fan!! xx

  • @neintoten You make me feel physically sick. I don't know why i'm even wasting a reply to your disgusting comment :'(

  • Mr Brian May & Mr Roger Taylor Talented Men with better hearts & souls than many.

  • @neintoten

Dude, just shut the fuck up. Ignorant fucks like you is why the world is going to the dogs. Freddie is more a man, a GOOD man than you will ever be darling.

  • @neintoten Your words reveal the person you are.

  • @neintoten why are you so angry&bitter...look if you want to be a "Closet Case" hey thats your choice,it does not make you a bad person ,however at least try and be a happy closet queen:) We are not dumb ..."Real" Heterosexual Men don't invest energy in posting about Homosexuals...your hate betrays who you "Really" are!

  • @neintoten Your such a bad person.

  • @neintoten You are far sicker than he ever was.

  • @neintoten Easy to write that way , but he caught AIDS in the 70s , and AIDS was discovered in early 80s ... easy to criticize 35 years later ,knowing what we know now :p

  • @ex59neo53 if he caught it in the 70s he wouldnt have survived until 1991, especially how rubbish the drugs where at the time. but all this talk about 1987 is nonsense, it was probably early to mid 80s.

  • @shariotoflove it was easter 1987

  • @TheGenesisThing yea but if you listen to the interview, Brian indicates earlier than that. Did the doctors diagnose AIDS or HIV in 1987?

  • @shariotoflove oh yeah he had full AIDS in 1987 so he got infected in say 1984

  • @TheGenesisThing oh ok, thats pretty sad. so do you think he knew about being infected with HIV before 1987 or was it all announced in 1987 as AIDS.

  • @shariotoflove I think he found out in 1987. No one could have done Live Aid or Wembley with such enthusiasm if they knew they were living under a death sentence

  • @TheGenesisThing that's a good point, cheers for answering the questions.

  • @shariotoflove Glad to be of service.

  • @neintoten hey man sorry to hear you got infected.

  • O, my gosh Bri Bri. He looks beautiful but sad.

  • Google.....AZT LABEL

That's what Freddie was prescribed. The people who did NOT take it did not die

see on youtube......THE LIVING PROOF THE LINDSEY NAGEL STORY

Her results from Gallo's crap antibody test are in the documents link. One live UNmedicated kid. Nine DEAD medicated ones.

also see on youtube.......HOUSE OF NUMBERS

  • so sad and my vigilant friends, freddie is on your sleeve, adore , mourne and believe, he the freddie you know is the man you see. top band and caring people in music

  • They look so upset... ♥ R.I.P Freddie.

  • "The poor old sick devil" Roger speaks of, i remember reading that piece. Awful words in the press.......sick.

  • @ktgower can u remmember what artical that comes from.

  • Roger Taylor have really goog voice :)

  • wow !!! how sad they look : ( , but anyway friends will be friends

for a moment they make me feel like i was sad too. i love YOU roger and brian THE SHOW MUST GO ON

  • I love Brian and Roger. I just wish John didn't leave them after Freddie's death.

  • The press who stalked Freddie til' the end should be ashamed of theirselves, they can fuck off. Freddie was the greatest man ever, no one will ever be as good as Freddie..

  • So sad to see how hurt they look!! Makes me tear up, just to sense their grief!! But in the sense of archiving the history... thank you for posting this interview!! And of course... Long Live FREDDY!!! and the band QUEEN!!

  • @HuskyMaxx, I have to say previous docs about Queen & being a lifelong fan, John was extremely shy, as Brian said & Roger said John didn't like to tour ( a family man w/ 6 kids). He wasn't the most talkative one of the group &not fond of interviews, so I think once Freddie passed away, he chose not to go on morning t.v, one week after FM, death. Seems too painful for Brian and Roger, too. Given JD's character, seems right to retire. He didn't run away, he was mourning, just not publicly.

  • I think I've found one

  • I think I've found one

  • a very courageous way of remembering freddie, nothng but admiration goes to brian and roger, the music will live on forever in our souls. freddie was taken way too early, rest in peace. :(

  • John Deacon was very sad with Freddie's death.

  • i love you Rogeeer! <3

  • Freddie has to be one of the most beautiful humans ever to grace this earth (i don't mean looks, i mean his soul etc). Rock on Freddie, you are still missed and forever in our hearts.

  • Puede alguien que sepa español traducir esta entrevista? Muchas gracias. !!

¿could anyone translates this interview to spanish?

  • They mention the "These are the days of our Lives" video & I can't even think of that vid without tearing up, Freddie's final tribute to his fans & his life, very sad song & the video you can see how sick Freddie was in it, just a month or so before his passing I believe. Classy job here by Taylor & May holding it together here after such a tragic passing of they're "brother'.

  • Roger Taylor looks so much like Christopher Walken. Nothing much to do wich Freddy, though.

  • a part of me died with freddie i still love and miss him so much

  • Listen to what Brian says about changing laws...CHANGE THE PRIVACY LAWS IN FREDDIE'S NAME!!

  • RIP Freddie.

  • I photographed Queen in 77. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • Say what you want, but John Deacon was a wanker for not joining these guys and supporting Freddie's legacy.

Deacon got lucky as the #5 bassist they picked, but sure did not stick with the guys after Freddie died.

In my mind, while a great bassist, he was an arrogant and classless prick who stuck his head into the sand like a Flamingo when the shit hit the fan.

God Bless Freddie,Roger and Brian (AND Spike - who never got he credit he deserved).

I hope Roger includes Spike in QueenExtravaganza.

  • @HuskyMaxx I can see where your going with this but you need to understand people deale with situations differently. Also John was very very quite a bit like Freddie in a way shy and quite.

  • @HuskyMaxx Wow...do us all a favor and read up a bit before you criticize people, yeah? Maybe then you'll understand:) Cause it's obvious that you don't really know much about Mr. Deacon... And I can guarantee you, he doesn't deserve your characterization of him.

  • @HuskyMaxx Shut the hell up you idiot! John has the very right to do whatever he wants regarding his career in Queen, it's his business, not yours. He was the closest member to Freddie, Freddie was like a brother for him, he was pretty devasted when he died. And he thought in his mind that there'd be no point on carrying on without Freddie, his opinion. Besides, he wanted to dedicate his life to his children, he had six and they needed him. So, spare us from your stupidity if you don't mind.

  • @HuskyMaxx You can't be so judgmental when you have no idea of what occurred. Freddie was the oldest of the band and John was the youngest, there was basically a brotherly love relationship, they were very close. John is in no way arrogant for not being there. He took it very hard, I believe that if he was here at this interview (a week later, where the emotions are still raw) he would've clearly broken down.

  • Very sad. I grew up in the UK until 1972, but always followed Queen as my favourite band.

I must say, I commend Brian and Roger for not knocking this prick out for what he was saying. What a completely classless prick. Who is this old asshole?

I hope he is now dead.

Roger and Brian have such class as always. At this time, you could see the pain in their eyes.

I can't believe what this asshole asked them about Freddie. I would have lost it and ripped the guys fake hairpiece off.

  • Com'era depresso Bri...:(

  • Where is John Deacon? I have never seen Deacon to join in any dokumentary context before he left the band in 1997

  • poppysfit dont talk shit

  • Queen members are so amazing and the members loyalty to each other especially to Freddie made me feel like crying. Brian and Roger are so respectful. It is so clear that the band successful's foundation is their great friendship.

  • Freddie will always be alive in our hearts ♥

  • why do we not hear from john decon anymore!!!!

  • @mikeymcinally78 he's retired

  • The host is really a shame, how can he tell jokes and smile during the whole show? FK him, praise Freddie!

  • Fantastic interviewer, fantastic interviewees, and a great glimpse into the reality of a true legend.

  • For everyone who thinks the 80s contributed to nothing-think again.

  • I keep thinking that maybe one day a band will come out with half of the joy and happiness that I feel with Queen.

And all I get is autotuned, non-songwriting singers, rappers, and repetitiveness.

Freddie, Roger, Brian, John, thanks for leaving a legacy that I can appreciate, even though I wasn't there.

I hope that speaks volumes for what you have achieved, and I'll try to pass on your legacy to the next generation.

    We Still Love You.

  • @TheAlsala check out pain of salvation from sweden, amazingly talented singer and fantastically composed music. can be a bit heavy, but it's very progressive and incorporates many many genres (:

  • Really shows strong character the both of them not being baited into any speculations or false information. Clear and honest answers and a wonderful tribute to a friend that has passed on.

  • @stevenmiles , WELL SAID. By you and Brian and Roger. No matter what people thought about F. M's lifestyle, he was a true musical genius and, although the term has been drug through the mud and mire the last few years, a true ARTIST. Only God could have given him the talent he had and only God knows why he was taken in the way he was. I know a lot of eyes were opened (for the better) by his passing on in the way he did so his life AND death were a blessing to so many.

  • @stevenmiles (By his death being a "blessing" I mean to say his death brought about a turning point in how we looked at and understood the AIDS virus and how we learned to deal with and accept the family/friends/loved ones who were suffering from it.)

  • @poppysfit No disrepect but it was Rock Hudson's death in '85 that brought about some change and further the death of Ryan White that really changed the overall face of AIDS.

  • @carolinablew Freddie was an idol and a God to millions, you know how it is, people have a hard time accepting that artists like Freddie can die. He was the first rockstar to die of AIDS. When he died, he proved that AIDS afects anyone, telented, rich, poor, famous, unknown, we're all equal to it. Rock Hudson's death changed little, since there was still a lot of stigma and bias the year Freddie died, 1991. Magic Johnson was by far a bigger change than Rock Hudon.

  • Aaaw i just wanna hug them :(

  • freddie will be sadly missed i feel for roger and brian

  • @kezie666666 Lets not forget that this happened over 20 years ago now

  • @Baronstone ALMOST 20 years ago. Freddie Mercury died on 24th of November.

  • the thing with this interviewer was ,he wanted to make the time he had with these guys mean something more than regular interviews.this was not an easy time for mike, the interviewer,as it was for brian and roger.a good interviewer does not shirk the difficult questions, and here,he didn't.

  • Just fantastic chaps. You can see when they played the tribute concert that they really enjoyed playing Queen songs again, even though not one of the amazing musician/singers could take Freddie's place. It was for tribute to a great singer, an amazing personality, an amazing singer... forever missed RIP Freddie no one like him...

  • Their loyalty is endearing.

  • After Live Aid and Wembley stadium,he, Freddie, reached the pinnacle of perfection. The world was his. What do you get the man who has everything? This has been asked of wealthy people for years, but Freddie Mercury truly did have everything after Live Aid and Wembley. The only way is down, but Freddie went out while he was still on top. Can you really see him at 65, performing his hits? No. He lived his life, he died his death, and we all loved him for it. Thank-you Freddie!!

  • Poor Brian...Poor Roger...so broken look.

  • Why the fuck would anyone dislike this?

  • @Duchova the only reason(s) someone could dislike this is because 1: Freddies is not there and 2: The band mates are hurt

  • @Duchova

Probably a group of members from Westboro.

  • @Duchova Cause they suck ass.

  • @Duchova i know

  • A short message to AIDS.....FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't think I would be able to live knowing that I was going to die soon, and still act like nothing is wrong.. RIP

  • @Lauryn1001 Well, I guess John was too grief-stricken to come and talk :'(

  • “The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.”

  • I've always wondered if Freddie announced his death before he actually died. He may have gotten a kick out of seeing what people had to say about him.

6:52 Brian mentions that Freddie could have written a different cause of death on his death certificate. I'm sure I'm looking too deep into this, but it's an interesting thought.

  • @ErikKnear Yes it's true, Freddie didn't have to write AIDS as his cause of death, nobody obliged him, he could have told someone to write " pneumonia" simple as that, people die with pneumonias. But I think he wanted to be true to his fans, his fans cared for him and I think he didn't want to lie to them any longer.

  • @ErikKnear Misunderstanding by you..

He said that Freddie has been really brave, because in his death certificate he could written a false thing, but he decided to come out sayin' to the world he had AIDS ;)

  • All the Most respect for Queen. RIP Freddie & Live on/Rock On to QUEEN!

  • What about John?

  • My memory of this was hearing about Freddie's announcement that he had AIDS, then waking up for school the following day to the news that he passed away overnight...I learnt from then that whenever a Celebrity announced a terminal illness 7/10 they passed away within a couple of days of that announcement!...RIP Freddie. Its coming up to 20 years later this year, and you and your music is still unforgettable!

  • scum tabloids havent changed.

  • I grew up with Queens music, so when Freddie died a part of me died to. I dont care if he was gay. He was a great entertainer, maby the greatest ever.

  • Nearly 20 years (as of typing this during the NoTW scandal) after and it's taken all this time for the tabloids to get a walloping finally. God knows if this will be the end to this kind of reporting but it's really disgusting how they treated the guy.

  • ;(

  • It pains me to see how sad Brian is. Roger's strong and trying so hard not to slip, where as Brian is on the verge of tears. It must of been devasting to sit there and speak of their dead friend. Not to mention the interviewer who is an insensitive dick.

Rest in Peace Freddie Mercury. You will never be forgotten.

  • I have not seen this in almost 20 years..here I am crying again...these men were grieving the loss of their friend...they were so much more than band mates..they grew up together...they shared an amazing journey..Its plain to see the pain...and anger at the way people sat in judgement of their friend..I will say I saw them live a few times..you could see the effection..they really did care for each other...so sad....Freddie Mercury..beautiful..sweet man RIP

  • @helga284 me too rip freddie

  • @killieguyno1 I hope he knew how much people truly did love him..the whole band really..been a fan for 36 years..the memories I have of each live show I saw are still with me today...4 Amazing ,Brilliant men....a perfect fit....pure genius

  • @helga284 agreed 4 talent in one band is rare,i was lucky my first concert i was at as knebworth 1986 and they blew me away i was only 13 but always remember show

  • @killieguyno1

That was their last concert ever featuring the four original members.

  • @NeilFraudstrong yes i know..there last concert and my first..always said i would see them again but fate decided otherwise

  • These poor guys. The world may be talking about an 'icon', but they are talking about their closest friend. :-(

  • They both look absolutely devastated but when the interviewer starts talking about the rumours in the press Brian getts sadder & Roger gets angrier. The both look like their world's have ended. RIP Freddie xx

  • This man's are a Gentllmens

  • tabloid journalists = money hungry monkey ass scum!!!!!

  • oh god I just want to hug them so brave to talk about it openly on tv so soon after :(

  • @MrNotyag I think this may be a little homophobic? Straight people can lead decadant lives as well.

  • these guys are so coureagous, talking about this only after one week and with so many humility, i'm very impressed.Freddie worked until the end and i'm sure they will do the same.they rock.

  • Has anyone ever read 'Mercury and Me'- the book which Freddie's partner wrote about their relationship? It is very moving.

  • @BadGirlOfAutism yes i have, and I think it´s very moving too. very personal and I really got into it when I started reading.

  • @BadGirlOfAutism I have read it a long time ago, I rarely ever read but I really wanted to read that book so I did.

I was a teenager when I saw the paper about Freddie's death, I listen to some of his songs today and think...what a voice! it would have been a great thing if he was still alive today making songs, a great guy too, some one I really would have loved to have met.The loss of Michael Jackson and Freddie are the 2 things the music world has lost that no other artist can EVER replace.

  • It's disgusting how the press behave in this country. Imagine dying of a horrible, slow-burning disease & having paparazzi outside your HOUSE 24 hours a day... taking pictures through your windows & chasing your cars down the road. Fucking scumbags who deserve to be battered. Freddie, you were a legend. RIP

  • @Shithouse1 the press in my eyes are related to the devil. No i aint mental or anything lol but i think there that sick and evil they sometimes push people to there death constantly pestering people never leaving them alone writing things that arnt true.

  • ironic isn't it, the poison of press intrusion coupled with the recent controversy of super-injunctions (Ryan Giggs anyone?)

  • @MrNotyag "Back in the day" cigarette's were considered AND promoted as a medicinal product. There were no warnings for Aids, and would ANY homosexual wear a condom knowing that there was no use for it, it's not like they were in fear of impregnating someone. Freddy was a huge supporter of the gay community and Aids research, as for Mary Austin, she did get the bulk of his estate as she was well known for being the love of his life, but his last lover of 7 years was nicely provided for as well.

  • @Furkin44 ..Your statement back then " NOBODY knew about AIDs" is inaccurate, incorrect and reflects the naive attitude/denial that some people still take. Furthermore it is not LUCK but also precautions/awareness that other GAY stars have not become "SICK" so far....There were people who were warning Freddie of his "LIFESTYLE".... Reality is reality...you cannot sweep it under the RUG and say OH WELL...bad luck..he was careless and decadent...

  • @akrivosdiavolos73 Of COURSE we knew about Aids you Thug, but it was a relative rumor and just like everything else in this life, no one thought it was that bad and no one certainly thought it would happen to them. It absolutely WAS the luck of the draw back then, yes people started taking precautions, but not most. Don't sit back and pass judgement if you weren't there.

  • @MrNotyag Freddy did lead a "decadent" life, but NOT promiscuous. He was a lover of life and hosted many large parties and of course he had male lover's, but back then NOBODY knew about Aids or the need for any precautions such as condoms and the like....he was simply one of the unlucky one's like Rock Hudson. Elton John and many other's dodged huge bullets....it was kind of the "luck of the draw" so to speak.

  • where's John ?

  • Poor Brian and Roger look like they were about to burst into tears at any moment, bless them for holding themselves together. The show host was so insensitive, it made me so angry.

  • The English tabloid press is just pure evil; along with the pharma industry they are like the biggest scum in the world.

  • Brian May is just breaking my heart here.

No wonder Queen were so good together.

  • Poor Freddie The Bloody Media Sucks!

  • Society is still prejudice against people with Aids and it's a shame. Everyone says we know all we need to know but that's not true...we'll never know everything about this horrible disease.

  • STOP LAUGHING ASSHOLE, FREDDIE DIED FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! SHOW SOME RESPECT!!!

  • Thinking of his passing still makes me cry...

  • Freddie donated privately to AIDS research. Even when the progress'd never come fast enough to save him - how's that selfish or whatever? the critics should question society's own prejudice and stigma before casting stone at a dying man trying to retain last shards of dignity and peace, against the media ganging up on him & his family. Would these rags even go to their jobs on their deathbed and work til they drop?

  • How can this interviewer be so fucking stupid? He starts laughing!!! C'mom man, can't you see that the two people in front of you are suffering????????

  • nothing makes me more sad than Brian's face!

  • wow,,freddy was very very private. so ironic,,,

  • @MrNotyag Yes he did.

  • There's is something about the interviewer that makes me so mad. He's sitting there, smiling, enjoying it, while he's talking to two guys that just lost their best friend. He could at least have shown a bit of respect.

  • Roger Taylor as well looks like he's been crying which is totally understandable.

I feel so bad about Freddie and his friends, including Roger, Brian and John and all of the fans.

  • They weren't just one of the best rock bands in the world. They were a family, helping a family member die with one last wish and some shred of dignity and privacy. A lot of people never get to experience being in a band that works, let alone one that becomes your family. Freddy was lucky at the end of his life to have such amazing friends to help him realize his dream of making one last record. RIP, Freddy. No one before, no one since, no one after will ever come anywhere close to his talent.

  • I'm a bit confused about this interviewer. He asks some very good questions and handles it all quite well, but why on earth is he smiling through the whole thing? That's just a bit insensitive.

But Roger and Brian are so brave for doing this so soon after Freddie's death. I definitely couldn't.

  • I remember when it came on the news and it was so sad

  • john deacon was the best, when fredie died he went out, he appeared in made in heaven album 1995, but there was no queen without fredie, i think he made a smart decission.

  • i see and i feel sadness..

  • @TheMillyFrom1996 He was never convicted, so you really can't say that about someone. Do you know about MJ's upbringing? He was never allowed any childhood at all. His father beat him and forced the "Jackson Five" to sing perfectly, and commented frequently on Michael's "fat nose" - resulting in his plastic surgery. Michael later treated children with caring love to ensure they didn't live like him. But of course the press don't understand non-sexual love.

  • Freddy Mercury is immortal.

  • Freddie was their mate, they loved him, and he loved them. That's why they are still the best band ever to set foot on stage or open the door to a recording booth.

  • I've seen so many people wonder why Freddie "came out" right before he died, especially when he remained silent for so long. I think it's obvious - he did it for his friends and his family and loved ones. He announced he had AIDS because he knew he was going to die any day, and he didn't want the people he cared about to have to live with the struggle of whether they should reveal how he died or not. He knew they would be hounded for the rest of their lives. He relieved them of the burden.

  • How was the world more shocked loosing a paedophile as bad as Michael Jackson (no hate; im a big fan of his music, just not HIM) when we lost Freddie, a lot of peoples hero and inspiration?!?!

  • @TheMillyFrom1996 1) Michael Jackson wasn't a pedophile. Because of the way he was brought up his mind didn't mature properly so he was pretty much still a child in a man's body.

    2) The world now is way more internet dependent and the media is much stronger than before so that's why Michael's death seemed like "more of a shock".

    3) Freddie wanted a simple send-off, or so I've read.

  • @MikeToorOfficial That's still no excuse for showing children your penis..is it? No. If my dad got up and did that, he'd be arrested....And well..So much for a simple send off..ay.

  • Okay, God. Joke's over. Give us back our Fred, you've had your fair share of him! >:0

  • I cant believe Brian and Roger did this so soon after his death, bless them.

  • ok..the interviewer is comin off as an ass to me..he's smiling ..enjoyin it wayyyy to much..come on man!..show some respect!

  • Al the members of Queen come across as well-spoken, articulate and intelligent in spoken interviews, Freddie Mercury included.

  • @Harrylechat01

That's because they are and the greatest super groups usually are too, for example Pink Floyd.

  • i miss freddie

  • Freddy whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. An example of one of the greatest bands silenced by the death of a lengendary front man.

  • @zzacky1 So, very TRUE!

  • Freddy, why did you leave? come baaaack please !!!!

  • you can see that they are very unhappy
