I love and will always love this band until the end of my days on this Earth. :( I'm just so sad that they split up and announced that there won't be a reunion like we all thought.
Hey the Dead Weather and Raconteurs are brilliant, they're just different from the White Stripes which I think makes Jack White one of the best musicians around. Everytime he makes something different not like Muse whose songs all sound the same.
@Poppypoppoy jack is indeed a great musician, but if u think muse sounds the same u prob dont know whit, listen to the new song which by the way i consider it trash, and compare it with deathstar, showbiz, bliss, map of the problematique, hysteria, toughts of a dying atheist, unintended, or fillip, and then you will see how great muse is
@mvnjuan OK so maybe Muse change the chords or rhythm of some of their songs but you get the same vibe and boring message from every song. But if you listen to Get Behind Me Satan and then Icky Thump you get a completely different vibe and you see a different side to the artist. So don't tell me I 'don't know whit'.
awsome song this, 1st time i saw them in 2004 at leeds festival they did this and i think everytime i hear it the hair still stand up on my neck. probably my faveourite line in any song..
..but these kinda things must be important, coz someone ripped out ma page in your telephone book.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I mean he was so cool back then, but now the music he makes is suffering. Icky Thump (other than the song Icky Thump) is nearly unbearable. And the Raconteurs, don't even get me started. I haven't listened to the Dead Weather yet, hopefully there's something good there.
Dead Weather is good. Icky Thump I guess was he as always experimenting. I hated it at first but now I love it. His music sort of grows on you.
Raconteurs aren't bad but it wans't really his 100% influence. In the stripes, he had total control over the music and the racs had more input put into it. but yeah i get yah.
Amazing footage! Great performance! Great band! (Best ever in my opinion) Jack is the best frontman. Think my fave album is "The White Stripes" but it's really hard to pick they're all amazing.
Yeah both great songs :) Yeah i'm bound to pack it ups fun to play! The sliding d sounds great haha. Can't believe Jack wrote "The union forever" when he was 17 :O Only Jack eh...
I never really liked the album version and used to skip the track on the CD, never really understood what the deal was. But then I watched this version and it all just kinda fell into place, and not only is it fucking brilliant, it also made me love the album version! Like this, Jack and Meg are perfect. You guys should read the interview Jim Jarmusch did with them some years ago, it's pretty hilarious and captures them in a not-so-depressed moment - and Meg actually talks!
everyone always ignore the softer songs like this on Elephant. That whole albums great, so I don't see how people can ignore the one's like this. The theme of that whole album imo was just raw emotion. Everything from straight aggression to heartbreak.
u can tell it musta been at the end of the tour as jacks voice is shot. still the professional rockstar he still gets it done unlike some fake ass bitches like axl always took the night off if someone threw a t-shirt at him
after hearing this and "we're going to be friends" I believe "seven nation army" is far from being their best song (it's still good, though). great stuff! with that cool sound, it's like they're channeling 70s bands like, hmm... deep purple, uriah heep, traffic, maybe a bit of Doors.
You are right doofus, I think too that songs like were going to be friends, the same boy youve always known or the air near my fingers are better that seven nation army...
Anyway, we can start to like less seven nation army because it is a song that has been played too many times... A bit like song 2 in the case of Blur, but it is still pretty, pretty good.
i like their first one better than de stijl, heck all of their songs are better than seven nation army, even seven nation army. they just have all good songs
I like ever song on every album (excluding i think i smell a rat) all the way up to icky thump. It is the worst album. They lost their beautiful simplicity with icky thump.
thats because it sounds so much like the stuff the general (boring) public listen to... i guess theyre cool now, which i hate, because when artists i like are liked by everyone else, i dont feel original
don't feel unoriginal based on how many ppl like what ever band your into..because most people hate it when ppl are like..."oh yeah,i'm cool because i like this band that nobody else knows about"....its a gay way to be.
