  • I love Jacks crazy hair in this video

  • This song is in open D though, not the guitar's usual A

  • NO IT'S OPEN A -:p

  • @electricity95 that guitar usually is in open G (sometimes with a half step up)

  • @Spideywinship no it usually in open A

  • what tuning is the guitar in?

  • dammit.. i miss them so much.

  • Jack White is like King Midas

  • At last M2:00RE times the guitar solo...

  • la cago el ultimo verso !

la voz que saca es la zorra!

  • so many memories

  • paul ralston 'life' in words

    facebook/pages

  • afieromeno.....

  • Jack's incredible!

  • I love and will always love this band until the end of my days on this Earth. :( I'm just so sad that they split up and announced that there won't be a reunion like we all thought.

  • meg spelt backwards is..GEM love it

  • Jack's hair, I dig it.

  • Jack????.......... do somethin with your hair bro! great music

  • the lyrics to this song are amazingly SWEET!... child like.

  • Though jack clearly does not lack any guitar talent that solo is easy! And that's a great thing cuz it sounds boss too

  • @jbw004 jack white = badass.

    period.

  • @zachwasson2001 Disagree

  • how can they not be awesome live

  • This is just so bloody good.

  • i don't wanna be the guy that gives haircut compliments but goddamn... he looks awesome

  • That solo is sick.

  • jack needs a hairbrush

  • @april101988 I think it's pretty sexy

  • @jbw004 The Shaggs = Badass. Justice :(

  • Comment removed

  • Jack White can do no wrong. End of discussion.

  • Hey the Dead Weather and Raconteurs are brilliant, they're just different from the White Stripes which I think makes Jack White one of the best musicians around. Everytime he makes something different not like Muse whose songs all sound the same.

  • @Poppypoppoy jack is indeed a great musician, but if u think muse sounds the same u prob dont know whit, listen to the new song which by the way i consider it trash, and compare it with deathstar, showbiz, bliss, map of the problematique, hysteria, toughts of a dying atheist, unintended, or fillip, and then you will see how great muse is

  • @jbw004 Spoken like a true prodigy!

  • his hair is epic!!!

  • AMAZING!!

  • Gives me the chills..

  • this song makes me cry sometimes

  • Awesome *-*

  • Oh god dear Jack. Why are you making so much shit music now .. go back to white stripes please ^^

  • @Greesovith It's so fucking subjective.

  • @Cthulhussama agreed... plus the dead weather are amazing... lol

  • @Greesovith He's still with the White Stripes. He just has the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather as well.

  • @jbw004 couldnt agree anymore with you man.....

  • He does that song live even better than I'd hoped!!!!!!

  • Livid in Sydney! Awesome! Aussies ROCK!

  • What kind of cartwheels do I have to pull?

    Yeah!

  • yeah man, i'd love to be able to play some of the slide stuff jack plays..

infact i'd love to be able to play anything he plays, he's awesome

  • its almost easy man just tune in open A and lean on the third fret and above the 12th fret, like lets build a home

  • Dude! You get the best vids. Thanks for posting.

  • The guitar solo 2-2:25 is the best it's delicious

  • @wsfan6333 In fact is one of the peak points of the whole Elephant CD

  • @darklordzea agreed for sure

  • @darklordzea

nah, the weak point is Elephant is 'Youve got her in your pocket'

  • @namelesssmokemonster You've got to be kidding. That song touches my soul. Live life a little longer, you'll get it then.

  • awsome song this, 1st time i saw them in 2004 at leeds festival they did this and i think everytime i hear it the hair still stand up on my neck. probably my faveourite line in any song..

..but these kinda things must be important, coz someone ripped out ma page in your telephone book.

  • Jack White=badass

  • the best math equations EVER

  • what do you mean?

  • Dead Weather is good. Icky Thump I guess was he as always experimenting. I hated it at first but now I love it. His music sort of grows on you.

Raconteurs aren't bad but it wans't really his 100% influence. In the stripes, he had total control over the music and the racs had more input put into it. but yeah i get yah.

  • That guitar from minute 2 to 2:30 is beautiful

  • @Ktmzqw yeah it really is... he just pulls everything out on that one..

i can listen to that part + 01:03-01:16 all freaking day.. !:P

  • sounds like Robert Plant??????

  • Yes, when i first hear the white stripes o thought jack white was robert plant

  • that slide guitar work....would make chuck norris cry.

    amazing jack white.

  • thats rediculous.... chuck norris doesnt have tear ducts....

  • Jack White is the man.

  • Jack has quite the fro goin on

  • looks lik hes been spendin too much time in the cotton field

  • jack white is so damn sexy

  • One of their sweetest songs...I love the part where he plays slide guitar

  • Amazing footage! Great performance! Great band! (Best ever in my opinion) Jack is the best frontman. Think my fave album is "The White Stripes" but it's really hard to pick they're all amazing.

  • De Stijl, for me...

  • Aw yeah thats an amazing alb:)

Think Truth doesn't make a noise is my fave off it...but again it's hard to pick lol.

  • "I'm Bound to Pack It Up" is my fave; I liked it so much I taught myself how to play it (it's quite easy, really). I like "The Union Forever", also-

  • Yeah both great songs :) Yeah i'm bound to pack it ups fun to play! The sliding d sounds great haha. Can't believe Jack wrote "The union forever" when he was 17 :O Only Jack eh...

  • 17, huh?

    Doesn't shock me-

  • Nice :).

  • I never really liked the album version and used to skip the track on the CD, never really understood what the deal was. But then I watched this version and it all just kinda fell into place, and not only is it fucking brilliant, it also made me love the album version! Like this, Jack and Meg are perfect. You guys should read the interview Jim Jarmusch did with them some years ago, it's pretty hilarious and captures them in a not-so-depressed moment - and Meg actually talks!

  • Damn.

Is there anything Jack can't do?

  • If there was one performer I would want to be if I was asked to be like it'd be Jack

  • You obviously have taste, my friend... kudos, and amen!

  • awesome shit

  • I WANT THAT GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!

  • is it just me or is meg a sexy mf in this??

  • fuckin A, she is tight!

  • everyone always ignore the softer songs like this on Elephant. That whole albums great, so I don't see how people can ignore the one's like this. The theme of that whole album imo was just raw emotion. Everything from straight aggression to heartbreak.

  • u can tell it musta been at the end of the tour as jacks voice is shot. still the professional rockstar he still gets it done unlike some fake ass bitches like axl always took the night off if someone threw a t-shirt at him

  • white stripes amazing as always <3

  • I could die to listen to this solo!!!!

  • Its okay, its on youtube.

  • His hair is the best.

  • That transition from organ to slide guitar was incredible. Argh when are they gonna tour again???

  • The guitarplaying at 2.01 is fucking incredible.

  • I lived next to Jack for 4 years.

  • Awesome.

  • thats all your going to say about taht? lol

where were you living, and in what kind of building, did you ever make small talk? spy on him naked? try to steal some of his songs?

These are the things we want to know!

  • de stilj

  • how does he get his hair like that

  • Same as they did in the 80's.....LOTS of hairspray.

  • why would you ever want hair like that?

  • :O I love his hair...

  • awesome performance

  • His hair is great he looks a bit like beethoven =D

  • i love his hair in the beging lol

  • does anyone no where i can buy a kay like jacks but the normal version without the tape but with a humbucker

  • btw... this rendition of the song is beautiful

  • Hey, RAMBLENIGHT!!

As I type this, I'm copying the music off yet ANOTHER of your vids: THIS ONE HAHAHAHA!!

(Sorry, but it's just that I'd forgotten to get this performance that one day I went on a rampage with your vids. Adios!)

  • it's like a happiness in sadness. Such is the truth sometimes.

  • Hahahahaha!! Love Meg's seat... Look, it's got "Meg" written in the back... lol

  • haha yeah i know its awesome!

  • wow...nice song, nice hair on Jack. lol!!!

  • lol!!

  • after hearing this and "we're going to be friends" I believe "seven nation army" is far from being their best song (it's still good, though). great stuff! with that cool sound, it's like they're channeling 70s bands like, hmm... deep purple, uriah heep, traffic, maybe a bit of Doors.

  • You are right doofus, I think too that songs like were going to be friends, the same boy youve always known or the air near my fingers are better that seven nation army...

Anyway, we can start to like less seven nation army because it is a song that has been played too many times... A bit like song 2 in the case of Blur, but it is still pretty, pretty good.

  • almost every song on de stijl is better than seven nation army... that cd is by far there best (in my unprofessional opinion)

  • i like their first one better than de stijl, heck all of their songs are better than seven nation army, even seven nation army. they just have all good songs

  • I like ever song on every album (excluding i think i smell a rat) all the way up to icky thump. It is the worst album. They lost their beautiful simplicity with icky thump.

  • yeah i was let down with their latest album, i refuse to listen to it

The strange thing is all none-stripes fans liked that album

  • thats because it sounds so much like the stuff the general (boring) public listen to... i guess theyre cool now, which i hate, because when artists i like are liked by everyone else, i dont feel original

  • don't feel unoriginal based on how many ppl like what ever band your into..because most people hate it when ppl are like..."oh yeah,i'm cool because i like this band that nobody else knows about"....its a gay way to be.

  • wait you didnt liek icky thump

  • icky thump is balls, like ur face

  • WOAH guy settle down its a good album

  • I dunno, Although in comparrison perhaps Icky Thump is their worst so far, but there are a couple of gems on that album like "Catch Hell Blues" which in my opinion is one of the best songs they've done... Best is either De Stijl or Elephant in my opnion

  • Nah, man! Icky Thump is great! 300MPH Outpour Blues is excellent. Worst is definitely "Get Behind Me Satan"

  • Actually yeh your right, I suppose Get Behind me Satan is nothing special at all.... What would you say was their best?

  • White Blood Cells.

  • Elephant.

  • Get behind me satan is by far the best White Stripes album, and easily one of the best albums ever made.

  • you know this song is on Elephant right?

  • Yes, and I replyed to all the people saying that Elephant was the best White Stripes-album. Elephant is awesome, but Get Behind Me Satan is a little better.

  • what about white blood cells man ? ....great album

  • i'm with you icey on white blood cells

  • White Blood Cells is up there too!

  • C'mon the white stripes haven't released a bad album ever their great. It's so hard to decide which album is better cos their all so good.

  • True.

  • i think that the problem with the white stripes is that every album is even better than the other one...

So 'Icky thump' is their best album, but 'White blood cells' is still a little bit better. And 'Get behind me satan' is even better than that,, but 'icky thump' is better than 'get behind me satan' etc...

hahaha, this aint making sense at all xD

  • personaly for me elephant is my favorite, and after that i can't realy decide because i pretty much like all the other albums equally :)

  • How can you possibly say that? I really LOVE get behind me Satan! =D

But I love all the albums:P

  • uh the dont have an album named seven nation army

  • the tuning is open A

  • i thought open D?

  • Is there anyone that knows if Jack got an different tuning on his guitar? Im trying to learn the slide part, but it doesn't work that good :/

Please msg me If you know.

  • tune open A

  • If there were more people like jack & meg music would once again be good!!!

  • Ramblenight I tip my hat to you

  • Yup, great upload.

  • he's got a fantastic voice

  • i thoroughly enjoy his hair in this one.

  • Blunderbuss is right! On 2.00 he play's on the organ and gitar both on the same time.

It's a amazing boy and then you must see him by The Raconteurs.

  • amazing song just clasicly awesome, you cant copy this its just so great you cant do it as good as them

  • greatest musical artists in the past 20 years

    no contest

  • my favorite since robert johnson

  • YES FUCK YES FUCK YES FUCK YES

  • "ramblenight", cheers for uploading this legendary video, this hence makes you a legend! Jack is just a poetic gent, a musical revolutionary and a scholar! A1!

  • Thanks dude!!! :-)

  • I love this song and all the little "detour" songs on the albums by that I mean the songs that seem to venture away from the Stripes regular style. This and You've got her in your pocket remind me of something Paul McCartney would have written with The Beatles.

  • This was never my favorite of the stripes' songs, but all those little things that annoys me about the album version (can't really put my finger on it, but something about the way he sings it) is just gone here - cause this version just god damn brilliant! Gotta love it.

  • i know. whenever i would listen to this album when it got to this song i would skip it. but then i watched this live version i was like...what the hell..this is amazing. for some reason its so beautiful live.

  • I think it's a great song, both on album and live. There are obviously better Stripe songs on Elephant, though.

  • I agree that the solo at 2:00 was awesoem but am not so sure i would call it "blues"

  • I absouloutely adore the blues solo at 2:00!

  • by far my favorite WS song....i love the theme and the execution

  • great performance! one of my favs.

  • amazing song.. loving it!

  • he looks like beethoven in the first seconds^^

  • no its not a fatar i looked at the pics and its not a keyboard its a combo organ and im allmost positive its vintage but daniglue is probbly right about him painting it later because he painted all his effects. if anyone knows what organ he uses PLEESE tell me! and yes JACK WHITE IS GOD and MEG IS GODDESS

  • what's the secret of these hair by the hell!? :O

  • afteri heard this live version and i went inte garage and playd the hole song it is freaking awesome

    the best ever
