  • Whip is better because melting takes AWAY the NATURAL properties such as those rich vitiamins!

  • I would love to try this but where do you get the Mango butter from?

  • @wladytray madinaonline com

  • @allthatsgold THANKS!

  • what made you decide to do it solid instead of melting it a little? Nice finished product!

  • what made you decide to do it solid instead of melting it a little?

  • @shauxnough i thought melting it would make it less beneficial to the skin and hair.

  • man i need something for waves help me out.... i got mango butter and that stuff is good

  • @playerman1 use something that has the consistency of a pomade, brush it, and put on a wave cap.

  • girl u were playing a sammie song!!!! i love him!

  • i love the madina brand that is all i use but i rather the mango butter its whips up better and is virtually unscented

  • The iherb.com website allthatsgold mentions in the description is a really good website. This time of the year they also have great discount and they have a flat UPS shipping rate of $4 but depending on the weight of your order, you might as little as 2 bucks for shipping. Here is a coupon for you ladies and gents to use for $5 off discount: ARU392 (this is for first time orders). Many people can use it. <=)

GL and thanks for sharing ATIG! Happy New Year 2011!!

  • is this suppose to be like lotion. an is it better to add sum oil in before trying to whip it cuz i would think it would b easier.an next time you make a video can you speak up some it sounded like you were whispering lol thanks for the video

  • I'm surprised you did this solid - I would have melted everything down first..;

  • Comment removed

  • do you still use this stuff?

  • @vermilla1 actually i do. just not this batch that I made in this video. it's probably time for me to throw it away and make some more, it last a long time.

  • @allthatsgold Adding some Vitamin E will preserve it even longer.

  • I liked the song that was playing in the beginning. Who sings it and what is it called?

  • @tweetybirddee it's heavenly by sammie

  • This is the easiest mixture I've seen so far.

  • is vegetable glycerin needed

  • you are the only person on youtube who does not melt the shea and mango butter.

  • Thanks so much for sharing the site you used - it's so much cheaper to buy it for $4.00 per pound than anywhere else. <3

  • whats so precious about "unrefined" shae butter? the one i bought says "pure" but its not clumpy like that, and the ingredients says nothing but shae butter.

  • @Ch0xie with refined shea butter it looses some of its natural properties like healing but with unrefined it retains those properties. Also refined shea butter has other chemicals added to it and unrefined shea butter is like straight from the nut so to speak.

  • you rock! melting is baaad. :)

  • id rather just buy this stuff lol

  • Great video! I received unrefined, raw shea butter, cocoa butter, and mango butter as a gift and although I have used Shea butter I had no idea how to use the mango and cocoa butter. They (mango & cocoa butters) are really, really firm, you cannot just scoop and apply it out like shea butter but thanks to your vid, I'm going to try and whip them. Question, have you ever whipped unrefined cocoa butter?? There doesn't seem to be a home made mix video for this butter out there.

  • really 'cause i was looking myself. every time i put in "whipped cocoa butter" i get vids that include all 3 words instead of them being exclusive. as i typing this msg, my CB is in kitchen melting down. i've had it for months and have been wanting to whip it so bad. we'll see what happens...

  • try melting it first. that helps me

  • I was trying to avoid melting the mango and cocoa butter but it looks like thats what I'm going to have to do in order to make a whipped mixture. Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot for making this vid.

  • Mango butter is also found at Mountainroseherbs. Did you find the mango butter benefical to your hair product? What does it do for your hair? Or skin?

  • It's works pretty much like shea butter and cocoa. It moisturizes.

  • Mango is also good for the elasticity of your skin!

  • Mango butter would be great to use in the hotter weather because it acts as a natural sun screen (protects from UVA & UVB sun rays). So does avocado oil. Try that as a mix for the summer.

  • Great tutorial!

  • which site did you order your empty containers from?

  • how long did you whip the second batch for?

  • I think it was probably a little more than 15 mins

  • Does the mango butter smell like mango

  • no mine didnt...but i kinda wish it did. it really doesnt have a scent

  • @collinf123 nope.

  • I may have to order my mango butter from online, I don't generally buy online, but I have searched every health & whole foods store in my area, noone has it or even knows what mango butter is!!!!

  • u can find mango butter on ebay

  • @KidneyGirl91

thank you sweety, I tried a few more places here yesterday, but still nothing so unfortunately I am going to order online today

  • @classyjewel

I just ordered mine from ebay, there are some great deals and u will find many sizes. good luck with it.

  • There is a great sale for Shea, mango, and coco butter. 1/2 lb of all three for $18.99 and they have a 20% off discount

  • Does it stay whipped or does it solidify eventually?

  • which shae butter do you like better? the yellow or the white?

  • umm I like the way the yellow looks but I think the white is better for the hair

  • thanks for this vid

  • you can minimize slpatter by taking a paper plate cutting a slit for the beaters and sliding it on the shaft of the beaters ..great way not to loose product.

  • wow i would have never thought of that...thanks =)

  • great video...thanks for sharing. what is the mango butter good for?

  • i believe it's good for moisture

  • All I do is place 4 drops of mango oil and some move it around in the jar....await a few days to let it set and boom mongo shea butter....

  • love the video- I've been looking for ways to use mango butter.

btw, what's the name of the song in the beginning of the vid?

  • is there anywhere else you could get shea butter? i really dont want to order online. please respond thankss!!

  • You could try your beauty supply store but be careful because it may not be raw....African shops....health food stores....I haven't really seen any in stores though :(

  • thnksssss for the heads up about the raw shea butter.... someone tried to tell me differently about shea butter -_- lol.

  • I've used shea butter from Madina and it's fine/good quality. I actually found someone who sells it in their store, but the web site is right on the container.

  • Thanks for showin how long to whip, My batch I have now is a little off, But I know for next time :-)

  • you're welcome thanks for watching =)

  • will settling occur if the product sits too long? and how would you store the product if u make a batch that could fill several jars? would freezing it be a lil extreme?

    great video

  • settling hasn't occurred with mine... i just store my jars in my room in a drawer that i keep my hair products and i really didn't need to freeze mine because it held together very well =)

  • Thanks. Love your enthusiasm!

  • how does your shea butter smell?

  • it smells kinda nutty but i like to use orange oil (essential oil) to help cover the smell

  • it looks so yummy. I only add coconut oil and grapeseed oil to my mixture but if I add some of what you added, it may be even better. Moisture is the number one thing. this vid is so cool.

  • thanks for watching im glad you liked it :)

  • You should start putting your oils/butters in glass or porcelain containers because PLASTIC "eats" up the oil...aka it drys it out.

  • really?! thanks for the advice :)

  • If you microwave or heat the butters a bit first (about 20 - 30 seconds) Its would be a lot easier to whip

  • love this vid....thanks. I think I'm going to attempt to make my own today....You have a new subscriber.

  • Thankx 4 da vid !! Dat looks like Whip cream ..

  • Thanks for the vid, Im going to whip my own this weekend:)

  • So where can you find quality shea better

  • you can go to madinaonline or butterandbars (i think that is what it is called)

  • Thank you so much for this recipe. I was searching google for "how to make whipped hair cream" and your video popped up. After I saw the ingredients, I decided to make it on the spot, so I sat here and did it step-by-step, with you...I must say, I LOVE THIS STUFF! Thanks again and God Bless!

  • Cool!! I am glad you liked it. :)

  • Where can you find essential oils and all-natural Shea butter??

  • is this like Elasta q's Mango Butter? I love it as a moisturizer and want to make my own duplicate! One main difference is that you don't add water. That is the top ingredient in elasta. is there a reason it does not mold?

  • the texture of this mixture is not the same elasta. i do think it is very moisturizing though. i think elasta qp has preservatives in it that's why it doesnt mold.

  • thanks for prompt response. a few more questions: how does your mangobutter compare to elasta as far as texture and results. does it melt into your fingers like silk? does it do good twist outs??!!

  • the texture is like shea butter when it is whipped...it melts very easily into an oil. and yes it is great for twist outs :)

  • Thank you for the very informational video. I have a new interest in making my own hair creams/butters for moisturizing dry hair. What do each of those ingredients do for the hair? (e.g., rosemary oil, jojoba, shea butter?). Do you know where more info can be found on the benefits of each?

  • Thank you so much for the video. I've been trying to make my own stuff but didn't know how to get it to whipped consistency. Now I know that I have to beat it a while. I remixed some I had made previously and it looked like churned butter when I finished. Awesome! Thanks again! :-)

  • where do u get your shea butter?

  • if i wanted to whip my shea butter would i Need a hand blender to do it? or would i be able to do it by hand, with a spoon lol. or does everyone use a blender b/c it's easier? or the results are better?

  • oh..you definitely would need a blender i have tried just using one of those old blenders that you turn yourself and it was too hard. the shea butter is really thick unless you melt it down some

  • Does this give you lots of moisture? I am looking for a hair moisturizer but can't find one I like. So I thought let me make it myself. LOL

  • girl i know excatly what you mean... i think it is really good for moisture. it works really well after I wash my hair. but you can also use it on dry as well.

  • looks good,I want to try this=).I used too much oil for my whipped shea butter because I thought that was how I was suppose to do it.I never did it with veg glycerine before. What does mango do for the hair?

  • sorry for the late response youtube keeps messing up but the mango butter also helps with moisture.

  • You can get mango butter from butters-n-bars too. I plan to make my mixture next month.

  • Next time I wipe up some shea butter I have to try this! Where did you get the mango butter from?

  • I know you said where you got it from in the video but I couldn't make out what you said.

  • Love the video. Thanks for sharing.

  • I am glad you like it...and thank you for watching.

  • Will have to try this. What do you use to preserve it? I have heard of people putting tea tree oil or some other type of ingredient to preserve homemade creams...is it necessary to have one for this one? Thanks!

  • No problem...I actually didnt use any preservatives but you could use grapeseed oil. I dont think you have to not unless you want to keep it for a while. But since I dont have one i have to make sure not to get any water in it because it will mold.

  • Oh yeah it took probably more than 5 mins. for me for it to look like whipped frosting texture. glad i could help!
