Aww I love this sketch so much, but I especially love how at 1:35 Graham goes off at his (sorry, HER) kid and slaps them, and then John just turns around and randomly hits his kid for no reason whatsoever.

Cracks me up to no end. I actually have tears in my eyes ;D

Oh, Monty Python. You always seem to be able to make me happy, even if I'm having a terrible day. Thank you very much ♥

  • This brat at McDonalds today climbed all over the counter and knocked stuff over. I wished these Pepperpots could have been there to smack him.

  • @TonyPro79 turnips?

  • I love when the women say "But its my only line!"

  • It concerns me what convincing women they an play.

  • I thought Michael was about to go all Van Gogh on his shirt-front.

  • LOL

  • 1:40 LOL

  • "Ralph used to spit. He could hit a Van Gogh at thirty yards..."

  • Does anybody remember the sketch where the paintings come alive and start arguing with one another and then they start a riot?

  • @BardOfShwa yes, this sketch follows immediately after the scene with michael palin

  • sorry didn't give much detail there, after the scene with Palin (the Art Critic) eating the pieces off the painting an animation starts of the paintings rioting

  • I feel like chewing on a Mucha after watching that! Thanks.. it's grand fun this is!!! : )

  • Wow...Graham Chapman and John Cleese make very ugly ladies...

  • And the moral of this tale is

    Don't abuse your boys

    Or they'll grow up

    To do nasty take-offs

    Of their mothers.

  • Ever notice that Chapman starts to say his first line, "Oh, 'ello, Janet," before he turns to see her? Guess Maude recognized Janet's voice. :)

  • Cleese's slap at 1:40 is my favourite bit :)

  • me too! i really fond of that expression

  • This is a SPAM.

  • Oh God, that's awful! You should be punished for a joke like that!

  • Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, SPAMMITY SPAM!! WONDERFUL SPAM!!

  • i defy ANYONE to keep a str8 face while watching this. LOL @ "peckish"

BTW: if you are someone who doesn't think MP is hilarious... double check your arithmetic because this shit is scientifically and mathematically extremely humourous!!!

  • The pepperpots!

"... it's a bottle of vin ordinaire. Six glasses and he's ready to agitate."

  • john cleese makes a sexy woman hhaa

  • thw two gals at the beginning are pretty hot. um.. i mean.. what?

  • The gal at the end is really hot

  • Who's a pepperpot?

BUT IT'S MY ONLY LINE D:

  • STOPPIT RALPH STOPPIT! -slaps- XD

  • "Ralph used to spit. He could hit a Van Gogh at 30 yards"

  • 1:40 - so funny!!!

  • Heh that same art line was in the pope sketch too. Which came first though? anyone know?

  • Reminds me of being clipped round the ear at school

  • Ah, my childhood.

  • I love their pepperpots

  • 1:40

  • A smack for good measure.

  • It so funny!

  • i cracked up already at the beginning when chapman said his first line ^^ - gotta love his voice over there!

  • How about: 'I've got Vermeer all over me shirt!' priceless. LOL.

  • 'Stop chewing that Turner !'

Wonder if that four-word command has ever been uttered in the same exact order at any point throughout the history of language? I'm inclined to think not !

Sheer brilliance, as usual. These skits just never get old...

  • wow, this is so random.

  • Are they hitting cats or boys?A

  • haha its great when the guys dress up as women -- utterly hysterical.

and i also find it funny at around 1:31 when Graham accidently starts slipping back into his real voice when he says "Stop" again.

  • @iPhew You think so? They're so good at playing women, and do it so often, that after a while it just failed to register for me that they were men in dresses.

  • @NeoItoh there are moments when i forget it's men in drag as well, but it never fails to make me laugh :)

  • I love how Cleese slaps the kid for no apparent reason.

  • @ShimmyPilates

That's the only way they will ever learn it ROFL

  • @ShimmyPilates Yeah! That's great! It made me laught a lot

  • @ShimmyPilates and i just love how people tend to spoil the clips

  • *SMACK!*

  • Love the out of sight children being slapped.

    Stop it Ralph, stop it!

Just what kids need today, an appreciation of the masters!

  • well i wouldn't call them masters that makes kids sound like slaves. but i do hate kids that get away with being little bastards. I want to beat the shit out of the 2 and 3 years olds that scream and scream and never get silenced or smacked over the head!!

  • i wonder what they were actually eating...

  • looks yummy

  • Yeah, me too. It's usually wax, but it looks to crumbly... maybe they made really, really awesomely iced cakes!

  • I think i heard or read Michael Palin say that it was made of this really dry, tasteless pastry that was impossible to swallow. Either way not tasty at all!

    x

  • :) i watched this purely cuz u favourited it lol

  • "He could hit a Van Gogh at 30 yards" lol

  • "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like"-Brilliant

  • John is a 6'4" pepperpot! run away!! :O

hahaha I love them. And "pepperpot" is a word that will always make me smile.

  • looks like that painting's giving Palin indigestion.

  • John Cleese is, bar none, the ugliest woman of all time. lol

  • But it's my only line... ;-(

  • What a great example of how MP could inject obscure, high-brow cultural references ('Watteau, dear?') and still reach everyone....they are my heroes !

I had to write a very painful paper on Watteau during my university days - ack. This would have spiced it up.

  • i love this.If they tried showing this here in america some person would write aletter about the abuse of children.sheesh i love monty python and all british comedy.

i love graham chapman in drag.same with john cleese:)

    Smile.Jesus loves you

  • 1:41 *random hit* lol

  • There's going to be a Turner exhibition coming to my area - I should go get a snack. But not after a Reuben.

  • iluvcheez: And watch the Vermeers . . . they're messy. ;)

  • "what a terrible joke" LMAO

  • Show him an exhibit of 18th century peasant pottery and he goes berserk. NO! I SAID NO AND I MEANT NO!!! *slaps* XD

  • Oh look, 'The Fighting Temeaire' ruined oh what shall I do?

  • NGS712: The sad thing is that I watched all of these when they first aired on TV!

    Love John Cleese!

  • eyes: I thought you said you didn't like Python?

    Or were you being facetious?

  • NG: No, I don't like it but I like Cleese.

  • Watteau dear?

  • I know Python is random (I'm a huge fan), but is that line silly because Michael says "What a terrible line!"? Sorry, I don't want to miss out on anything.

  • iluvcheez: 'Watteau dear?' It kinda something you have to know. Watteau was a French painter.

Also it isn't 'peasant pottery' it's 'Dresden pottery'.

  • Thanks - I looked him up (nice Rococco work) but I guess it's just something silly she says. Oh, and thanks about the pottery. I love this sketch - cracks me up every time!

  • iluvcheez: Me too. :)

Yeah, there's really no point. It's just a bad pun [Watteau sounds like Water].

  • Thanks!

  • iluvcheez: No problem. ;)

  • I think Terry Jones played the best pepperpot, especially when he did that loud screeching voice LOL.

  • I think it's hilarious when the boys play the pepperpots LOL.

  • Is this from Season 3..?

  • no it's from season 1

  • This is actually from Season 1.

Waters was the brains while David Gilmour was soul. Syd . . . hmmm . . . the inspiration.

  • This may sound weird, but I can do the exact voice of Graham when he says:

"YOU'RE A NAUGHTY NAUGHTY VICIOUS LITTLE BOY!"

    Anyway, I love this!

  • no you cant

  • yeah, i love doing that! And i love the slapping parts. =]

  • but it's my only line....

  • I love it when they start eating the painting! Everytime I look at a painting now I think of this sketch.

  • i love this video, one of the best parts is when john hits kevin for no reason at all!

  • Heheh,, yeah, priceless!!!
