@actonbath What an innane, ignorant comment, I would expect nothing less from an American. The FJ were amongst the finest soldiers in WW2. Only an ignorant, arrogant buffoon would denegrate them as soldiers by referring to them as "pathetic." The Germans produced the most potent military force in world history, it required a massive effort to defeat Germany. The FJ were consumate professionals, extremely well trained, tough, resilient, robust, disciplined & determined soldiers.

@actonbath A small group of FJ held back a much stronger allied force at Monte Cassino for many weeks. They were subject to intense air & artilliery bombardment, repeated infantry attacks, yet they held out & inflicted heavy casualties amongst the allies. They fought superbly in every campaign that they participated in & they were highly respected by all those who faced them in battle. Your comment is that of somebody whose only knowledge & experience of the FJ stems from Call Of Duty. Pathetic.

yes my father was in it its in gozlar in the harz mountains

as said before its in gozlar its the 1st sturm regiment who re grouped and then ramke took them to africa, gozlar was a garrison town  but my father was billited in langlesheim not far ,hence the reaction of the home comming as the people knew those who were on parade
