What people dont see (especially senna fans) are the numbers. Schumacher has won more, did more, and is just simply the best. Why is it that every time senna fans see schumacher win, its cheating. But every time senna wins, its because he is a genius. That doesn't make any sense. Same with Montoya fans. When schumacher wins, they say its cheating. When montoya wins, it was a great victory. And many of them are counted 3 times - wins, points and podiums all overlap. If u win 18 races in a season u dont also claim the same 18 podiums as a separate record!
Schumi maybe was 1 in 100 million. But Senna was one in 10 billion - ie. of all the 10 billion humans that have ever lived - maybe 100 others could drive like Schumi given the opportunities - but none could ever have driven like Senna.

Stats are nothing - just shows how long you were around and how often had the best car. Just imagine the incredible statistics Senna would have achieved at Ferrari - he was twice the driver Schui was - with those cars Senna would have re-written the record books far more completely than Schui. Though he would have been 44 by 2004, if he was at Ferrari during the same years Schui was - it's certain Senna would have won around 160 Grand Prix and around 200 poles.
Thanks for supporting the argument that Senna was better than Schui and stats mean nothing. As you say - even Prost's race win ratio is the same as Senna's yet we all know Senna blew him away as team-mates for 2 years - meaning therefore Prost had better cars in the other years. When Schui speared off at Silverstone in 99 at about the same speed Senna speared off at Tamburello in 94 - the different results were purely a matter of luck!
If Schui had been killed here like Senna unfortunately was, he would have a mediocre record - 2 World Championships and 35 wins in nearly 9 years compared to Senna's 3WC in just 8 years (and 41 wins in 10 years)
That ends the myth that Schui's stats make him the best - he was just lucky enough to be around for 250GP.
Yeah, but Senna raced within more permissive rules than MS, especially from poles POV. Senna was great indeed, but even if he didn't died in '94 I don't think he would have had stand a chance in the next years against the newcomers.

FYI: I raced for nearly ten years, driving every type of car there is. I travelled the world seeing many F1 races along the way and meeting the greatest drivers of all time. Then I finished my science degree majoring in maths and physics and now run a successful business.

I have all their autographs - I respect them ALL hugely. I acknowledge Schumi is possibly the 2nd best, with Prost or Fangio, of the 800 F1 drivers ever. But Senna was in another dimension to the rest of them - a Superhuman once-per-century freak. What about the 1985 Monaco Gp qualifiying where Senna deliberately held up other drivers just so the he could get pole and in the 1988 Portuguese GP Senna tried to froce Prost into a wall at 180mph so that he could keep 1st place. What about the 1989 Japanese GP where he took Prost out at the chicane and again in 1990 where he took Prost out at the first corner. How can you say Schumacher is a cheat and Senna isn't, wise up you idiot!

Schumacher was hardly challenged for a world championship in 01, 02 basically 03 and 04 too.
Then with a good car was outdriven by Alonso twice and Raikkonen as well.
Senna had Mansell, Prost, Hill etc to win championships.
im not saying schumis nt good cos he was an awsome driver but did not match the character, skill of the best like Aryton Senna or Jim Clark.

In 88 AND 89 Senna whooped Prost so bad McLaren were happy to see Prost run away in fear of the new King who stole his throne. More points just means less mechanical failures. Prost almost NEVER beat Senna on track! If anything - it was Prost that was favoured by Honda - the evidence shows that it was Senna that had the vast majority of mechanical failures (always while in front of Prost) thus Prost inherited more points!

Make no mistake - the more complex the game, the more superior was Senna - he was the one pushing for a banning of driver aids, elctronics and computers - because he knew he could do it all in his head and noone else could get close to him.
As Ear Ache said - he left engineers slack-jawed. Lee Gaug, ex - US airforce - said Senna's information processing capability was better than any fighter pilot - eg. remembering the behaviour of each tyre, every part of every corner, every lap!

Winning a championship without the best car is almost impossible even for the best - It's the mark of a TRUE Champion.
Schui had 8 opportunities to win the Title without the best car (92,93,96,97,98,99,05,06).
He failed every time.
Senna had 8 opportunities to win without the best car (84,85,86,87,90,91,92,93).
He succeeded twice (90,91).
(In 90,91 Senna was still using McLaren's dinosaur technology - manual gearshifts against Ferarri and Williams new-age semi-automatic gearboxes, and WON!)

In Numbers(Statistics,Records etc)Schummacher is simply the best cold hard fact.

When Schui speared off at Silverstone in 99 at about the same speed Senna speared off at Tamburello in 94 - the different results were purely a matter of luck!
If Schui had been killed here like Senna unfortunately was, he would have a mediocre record - 2 World Championships and 35 wins in nearly 9 years compared to Senna's 3WC in just 8 years (and 41 wins in 10 years)
That ends the myth that Schui's stats make him the best - he was just lucky enough to be around for 250GP.

The only time Schui had an inferior car to Senna was the last 6 races of 91!
In 92 Senna's McLaren was the worst he ever had.
In 93, Schumi had the factory Ford and Senna the customer Ford.
In 94, the Williams was a shitbucket until the second half of the year (after Senna was gone).
And still in all this time - 41 GP, (a full quarter of Senna's career) - Schui couldn't get a single pole while Senna got 9!

Yeah, but Senna raced within more permissive rules than MS, especially from poles POV. Senna was great indeed, but even if he didn't died in '94 I don't think he would have had stand a chance in the next years against the newcomers.

I have all their autographs - I respect them ALL hugely. I acknowledge Schumi is possibly the 2nd best, with Prost or Fangio, of the 800 F1 drivers ever. But Senna was in another dimension to the rest of them - a Superhuman once-per-century freak. What about the 1985 Monaco Gp qualifiying where Senna deliberately held up other drivers just so the he could get pole and in the 1988 Portuguese GP Senna tried to froce Prost into a wall at 180mph so that he could keep 1st place. What about the 1989 Japanese GP where he took Prost out at the chicane and again in 1990 where he took Prost out at the first corner.
