I always want more alien planest but I guess they cost more to shoot. :( Like weird trees. A horse with a beak and giant catapillars that shoot electricity.
the rank of major is not used in starfleet the ranks that are used are ensign lt. lt. commander commander and chief warrant officer there are no majors in starfleet
By far the best fan production of episode length I have ever seen. As others mention the acting may need some work, but for those without television experience, I think they all did quite well. Keep up the good work.
@atheistbiker From the standpoint of Television, yeah the acting is meh. But from the standpoint of fanfilms, the acting is quite excellent. But it definitely shows effort, probably even more effort than 90% of the crap on TV nowadays. Its too bad there can't be an independent fan production network
fan made movies can not be compared to the original...herein i assume that fan made productions don't have anywhere near the budget as any well renowned hollywood company.
From all the fan made movie i have seen. From the game cinematics edited together to make a movie, animated short films and any type of fan based movie.
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST MOVIE, WITH REAL PEOPLE AND SFX I HAVE SEEN TO DATE...
@ThatsMrFrank The uniforms are indeed good. But they'd rather fit further into the future, like end-24th century. Looks too much of a change to 2404 too me
@SolarAlliance according to the date, its almost halfway into the 25th century, even a couple decades past Star Trek Online. And with all the different new uniforms there, its not too much of a stretch to see the changes made here.
@K1productions Without wanting to bitch around: The ST Phoenix website states that it is set in 2422, while ST Online is set in 2409 (Memory Alpha), which is only 5 years after the events of the beginning of VOY: Endgame. (As far as I found out). Just wanted to state some facts.
@SolarAlliance Right and 2422 is 22 years into the 25th Century, and by your calculations would put it 18 years after Endgame, and lets not forget, Voyager didn't keep up with the uniform changes, as they were stuck way out nowhere. Though we did see the First Contact uniforms on the folks back at Earth.
Also, on this part of the episode, the doctor makes a comment about the strange new uniforms, as if they aren't standard Starfleet issue.
I think the only problem i am having with this is the balance between knowledge and mystery, I like that i want to know more, but i don't know enough at the same time. Everything else, not a problem.
the acting leaves much to be desired but i like the whole premiss of this show
i wish some of the networks would see how much ppl want star trek back, but this internet shows need a lot of polishing, BUt i hope someone sees the potential and picks one of these up ..Like i said Other than the acting i's good .
@rschaarman a comment I made earlier, with regards to television, the acting isn't so good, but with regards to fanfilms, the acting is quite excellent. Fans aren't all trained actors, remember.
being a filmmaker this is well done every detail is took into account also i like the grittier feel more military like they make it feel as if this is what has happend to starfleet during the war also the blonde doctor is not a bad actor
I like the blonde doctor guy! The set and costumes are amazing which has always lacked in other fanmade shows. The acting is pretty decent too (sounds like they actually got a boom mike!) if it wasn't for the often differences in height between characters (awful thing to say I know) and more of a Babylon 5 feel then 5 stars!
@explorer47422 I also got a strong Babylon 5 feeling from this. Which is to say that nowadays an amateur production can get to the quality of a commercial 90's show...
Lots of negative reviews, but yet, it's still 20 likes vs. 1 dislike… I dunno, must make people feel like big men when they act like dicks anonymously on the internet…
I've seen far worse fan made productions, trust me, this one is alright.
@kalajel Negative reviews...I call it criticism. And instead of looking at criticism as being spiteful maybe the producers can see it as a chance to improve their art. If everyone blew smoke up their ass and sugar-coated it how would they know what to change? How would the show evolve? I thought a lot of the "complaints" seemed legitimate and not overly hateful.
@kalajel I am one of those dicks that sometimes ake jokes but I still admit this stuff is better then what I could ever dream of doing. Thank you. Public service of Jake is a gentleman racist jew hater foundation.
hehehe nice transport...come on you guys the people look good ,the special effects are super *(and I have withdrawal symptoms)....this looks good to me with any series (here's hoping) you have to get to know the people first to judge them.
OK i agree it looks like any other fanmade pice of crap but i have been a huge fan of
STAR TREK since 1991 and when STAR TREK:enteprise ended i felt like shit i watched stargate and stuff like that but the best of them all was STAR TREK so pleas im asking you all who still whant it to go on to gather up and make 1 grate series not tens of thousends other things like STAR TREK:the second phase or STAR TREK: phoenix!!! But STAR TREK phoenix is a grate start!!! good job guys!!!
This has the same basic flaws of all fan films - low budget, over-exposition, limited sets, occasionally skitchy acting - but man oh man oh man, I really really really have to hand it to 'em for trying something legitimately different in Trek. This doesn't feel as safe as the Trek we've always seen, and I like that the technology actually feels like it's evolved since the end of Voyager. They've taken some risks here, and not just done "more of the same." Color me impressed.
-Visuals are good. Uniforms are different but nice.
-Actors are poor and uptight. Their acting don't seem real. Seems like they're forcing the act. Feels like their reading from a script. therefore theres no ambition or realism to the video. Cheezy.
Has more of an Andromina feel, not a star trek feel.
- 6/10.. poor but worth watching
-Stop being so nerdy. Get some real actors. Looks like a play by a bunch of nerds.
this has good potential but i agre with some of the coments being made about the transporter. in star trek the transporter was a very unique thing that should not change with the different series. the actors need to slow down and talk more clearly also. otherwise this is very good my only real problem with it is that its not the enterprise and thats what made the whole exploration thing unique was that you were following one specific ship as it is continuously upgraded thru the different shows
Love the bickering doctor/Vulcan - and I assume half Romulan? - crew members... These scenes were tense yet exhilarating. In part because this goes ever forward into the Star Trek universe, but also due to the amazing visuals and actors. It feels as though it's a grander scale that a fan production. And the reveal toward the end was too cool! =D
Only a huge jabba the hutt lazy movie critic would dis this.
