  • Not really a fix. Just a workaround.

  • @inefficient a fix is a workaround...this will work as long as you dont put a spring too big in the barrel so yes, it is a fix

  • @bedofrazors94 You haven't returned the arm to it's original functionality is the point I'm making. You need to keep a spring whenever you go anywhere with the guitar so that you can pop it in before the arm.

  • @inefficient no, actually as a matter of fact, I got a new arm because I put the wrong spring in one day that was too big and it was over tightened so it completely stripped the arm so I had to buy a new one. But why complain if it works? It's not my fault if you cant keep up with a spring.

  • @bedofrazors94 You put the wrong spring in and stripped all the threads? Surely you're the one that needs help keeping up with a spring...

  • @inefficient No, I had the spring where I had always kept it, I just had an uncut spring beside it and didn't notice what one I was grabbing. I can keep up with a spring just fine. By the way, I have better things to do than argue with someone who, from the way you are persistent with arguing with me, I imagine is a 13-15 year old that has nothing better to do than stay on the internet all day and argue with people you don't know.

  • @bedofrazors94 Obviously, you don't.

  • nice, thank you !

  • hey i was wondering if your method will strip the nut if you do this for a long period of time, but this method seems to work.....

  • @andy010893 only if you use a spring too big for the barrel

  • Great tip. All I need now is large supply of those springs because I'm almost certainly going to lose the one I've just installed!

  • i thought of getting them tiny rubber elastic bands/rings and putting a few around the part of the arm that goes into the barrel which should stop the loose bar but im gonna try your method, thank you! :)

  • You're my hero! Nice guitar btw! Alexi model, right?

    \m/

  • @MisterDeathPixel yes, its the Alexi model :D

  • @bedofrazors94 nice!

  • wow it actually worked, i went to my local guitarstore and said it was loose, they told me that i had to buy a new trem arm for 50 bucks, well fuck them! and THANK YOU!

  • Thank you, this made my day! Great job!

  • @kfanuzzi you're welcome :)

  • is that a alexi laiho model

  • @ArmyRangerish yes it is :)

  • @bedofrazors94 oh nice

  • i can't find anything on how to do the opposite! my original floyd rose's tremolo bar is tight and i can't find a way to make it loose!

  • @alpha1shadow i dont think there is a way to loosen it, only way i can think of is take a few drops of oil and put it on the end of the bar. if that doesnt work the only thing i can say is you will have to buy a new one :( but they are pretty cheap, i left a link in the description where i bought my new bar and barrel for about $20 :D

  • @bedofrazors94 lol thanks for the suggestion. i tried some vaseline (i figured oil based lubricant would be good) but it didn't really work so i took the gold bar off of one of my old beat up ones that i don't use anymore and it works perfectly. when i tighten the screw on sleeve i can flutter and when i loosen it it just drops out of the way.

  • @alpha1shadow glad you got it to work :D but a question, i cant stand when my bar just falls, can you tell me why you like your bar to be that loose? i personally like mine to be close to my hand and available at all times :P

  • @bedofrazors94 because when i'm done using it i like it to just leave without me having to push it out of the way. if i use it when it's tight i gotta knock it out of the way if not it gets in the way of my strumming. it's really a trade off though because then when i'm gonna use it i gotta reach down to get it and sometimes if you use it then drop it then use it again it'll still be swinging so you'll reach down and grab nothing. but since i always have had it that way i'm used to it i guess.

  • great tip, fixed my problem!

  • @RyWhitakerGuitarist thanks :D i just hated that i couldnt flutter the bar :P so i had to find a way to fix it

  • @bedofrazors94 Exactly my problem! haha now the only thing left I have to try is just using two springs. Supposedly that flutters better, but unfortunately my screws are kind of stripped so I can't tighten them to compensate for less spring tension :/

  • @RyWhitakerGuitarist do you mean the screws in the back cavity of the guitar? if thats what your talking about, you can go to just about any auto shop (auto zone, advanced auto parts, etc.) they should have a kit to remove stripped screws, i changed the screws in mine from the stock screws to wood screws (they're more durable, and you're more likely to have a screwdriver that size around) fortuanately i changed them before the stock screws stripped too bad.

  • @bedofrazors94 oh ok sweet, thanks for another great tip - I'll definitely keep that in mind

  • @RyWhitakerGuitarist no problem dude, just glad i can help other people, because i know how bad a Floyd that isnt set up the way you like is a pain in the ass :P and i know that sometimes you gotta be on a budget instead of buying a new setup haha

  • thanks man i always get anoyed when im on stage and i use my whammy bar because i have to reach down to grab it very helpful

  • @shredmansp89 no problem :D i know its annoying as hell when you have to reach down for the bar :P or when you cant flutter because the bar is too loose

  • Could the spring not get stuck...?

  • @thealmightyaxe1 no, the spring will not get stuck as long as you only use a spring from a pen/mechanical pencil, etc. if it does though, just take the back plate off of your guitar and you will see a place where an allen key will go, undo that and you can get the spring out if it gets stuck

  • Dude this was very helpful! Thanks man.

  • @CFHDAC33324 youre welcome man :D glad you like it

  • @bedofrazors94. Never mind. I got it fixed. Up till 1 on a school night. Drifted off while loosing the pick up. Haha. All I had to do was put the spring and screw back together inside. I feel stupid.

  • @LegalSk8boarding haha, ok, but dont feel stupid, when i first got my guitar with Floyd Rose i was confused to the point where i didnt want to touch anything because i didnt want to break it lol :P

  • HOLY SHIT IS THAT AN ALEXI ESP with gain boost?!?!?

  • @sk8boarder125 actually its an Alexi LTD 600, with Alexi's signature pickup in it :) if thats what you meant then yes :D

  • @bedofrazors94 oh thats sick man! Nice fix for the arm, really worked! thanks!

  • @sk8boarder125 yeah, its a great guitar, you can definitely shred on it :) and no problem man, glad i could help :D

  • I got a question. That thing on the left side is a part that i loosened too much and the nut fell off on the inside if the guitar. I was adjusting it, made a super stupid mistake and the nut fell off and the plate is now at an angle. please tell me how could i fix it. ited be 500 down the drain.

  • @LegalSk8boarding do you mean you loosened the nut that holds the tremolo arm in place? i dont completely understand what part you are talking about :/ can you take a video of the part youre talking about and send it to me, if you can i would be glad to help if i can

  • Dude you go too my school what is your name

  • @thcoolwhiteboy Zach Voyles, yours?

  • this also cures the looseness in the tremolo arm.

    5-stars

  • this is so ghetto but it works well thnx

  • @dan122189 yeah i know it is, but its alot cheaper than buying another arm and the barrel it goes in for a replacement, or holds it together until you get one :D

  • @bedofrazors94 ya ur absolutely right. and it works like charm thnx again for the upload =)

  • @dan122189 no problem :)

  • lol nice one buddy very good idea.

iv excepted the video to show up as a response to my video like you requested.

    well done m8.

    peace bro keep ROCKEN !!

  • @sunhouse76 thanks, i was looking for a fix and just thought about this, and thank you for the response video :)

  • "please comment, rape, and subscribe" tis wat it sounded like

  • @NoSanityTV no it didnt haha, i clearly said rate XD
