  • But there is also the optimistic that because it hasnt been completely proven false it is instantly true, you need an evidence for a positive and a negative claim, yet there are reasons to believe that there isnt a god

  • There IS a preponderance of evidence pointing towards the US being a representative democracy. This is why your analogy fails because there is no preponderance of evidence for Christianity. What you're doing is saying that because we can't prove a negative (that Christianity is false), it is reasonable to establish any arbitrary burden of proof. That's demonstrably wrong. Am I justified in believing in unicorns because my personal burden of proof is that they at least have to be drawn somewhere?
