for polyrhythms, do you constantly keep a beat on the hi-att or do you alternate that constant beat on other parts of the drum? Which way is best to start with?
i start and do a lot of keeping a beat with the hi hat foot, and work different rhythms with my hands and foot. But ultimately, it would make sense to get that left foot into the habit of doing some different rhythms.

i started by keeping the feet in a 4/4 pattern just straight singles, and then, putting hand patterns in opposite phrasings and time signatures.
