The world IS filled with evil and tyrants. imo if morality was recaptured from religion the penny might drop more easily that it is a good idea. Ethical teachings are lost by requiring people, especially the young, to accept fanciful supernatural authorship, when in reality it is just the logically best way. The idea of marriage now is one of romance, but it has a long history of a means of announcing ones property rights over women, as well as turning women into products that can be used for trade. It has a very unimpressive history, as far as doing any good is concerned, and I don't think it's worth making into any meaningful discussion at this level.
