  • Thank god that America (yes, even America) is at a point where a religious nut can't become president.

  • @fdasherv You really belive that?

  • Unfortunately, you guys just magnify and praise your Liberal Religion! You don't sound as guys talking about equality but about domination of liberal theology as the best theology ever and this is discrimination!!!

  • "The court imposed abortion on the nation" - Guess everybody's dead then. End of argument.

  • @mungodo Which was completely bogus to begin with... no court "imposed" abortion on the nation; what Roe v. Wade did was remove state and local blanket bans on abortion, that's all.

  • google Doe's Account

  • they arent standards that weve always fucking had, blacks and whites couldnt marry until 1965,then they couldve said when supposting it.

"hey its only what weve had for most of our history, its only standards weve aslways had" its unconstitutional to amend anything religious in the constitution plain an simple no matter what religion its unamerican.16% of americans arent religious in ANY way btw

  • Huckabee in 2012. Last hope for a decent president.

  • @Likwidlyric Huckabee for president, come on...you need to have a president more equipped for the highest office in the US, A man who clearly does not know what a "scientific Theory" is, A man who stated "You dont need to be able to teach 8th grade science to be president" . Laughable at best, ridiculous at worst.

  • hey trackguy. every generation thinks that they are in the end times.

  • "Biblical standards"? Like King David, who knocked up another man's wife then murdered him to cover it up? Married any woman he saw, had his son rape his half sister. Had her brother murder him, screw one of his dad's women and lead a revolt against his own father?

  • are we suppose to believe people like Tony Perkins from the Family Research Council doesn't want a theocratic government. bullshit.

  • huckabee is such an illiterate

  • The presenter 0wned the quack.

  • its ridiculous..religious groups constantly whine on about being persecuted and marginalised whenever anyone expresses an opposing view. truth is, religious groups (particularly in the US) control government , wall street, huge industries media etc and have the balance of power. their voice is dispprotionately louder than the number of followers, thus distorting the perception of their actual value with their constant right wing propoganda. go away.

  • @funkyrimpler By the way you people who believe in evolution sounds as persecuted. That's our reality now! We suppose to acknowledge this. Come on! For so many years America was under God than some atheists start whining that Christians discriminate them, which is not true. It's not a situation when you have being force to be a Christians as it was in time of Crusaders. Also, so many people talking today about separation church and State. Yes, constitution protect Chruch from Government!

  • @funkyrimpler It's so ridiculous that this guy on media so assured as many opponents the Constitution Protect Government from Church. Unfortunately, so many educated people amongst opponents but look like they don't know English grammar, I was so curious and decided to read Constitution by myself and I found that some people wishing that it would sound as Constitution protect Government from Church. It's not true. Just be honest!

  • @benandogla Your comment makes no sense.

  • The founding fathers would roll over in their graves if they saw this clip...goes against everything they hoped to (and did) achieve with the Constitution.

    "Biblical standards." Please!

    Shut the fuck up Huckabee!

  • Sometimes the Wingnut side of the Christian Right sounds so stupid, I wonder if they are trying to lose followers.

The really need to stay out of science, they have no idea what they are talking about.

  • that lawyer is pretty cool

  • Wtf did evolution have to do with a presidential candidate trying to insert his religion into the constitution??? That was so random.

I would bloody well *HOPE* that anyone making decisions regarding health care would have at least a basic understanding of evolution and other important principles of biology.

  • Did he say "impose abortion on this nation" ? lol As if women are being forced by law to have abortions.

  • huckabee is scary. something isn't right with the man....

  • "When Fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in a flag, carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis

A thought that came to Ron Paul's mind while being asked about Huckabee.

What comes into my mind is arrogance to think that he knows what God wants.

    RON PAUL 2008 for freedom!

  • Hucksterbee is a wacko. He also compared abortion to the Holocaust, said homosexuality is "aberrant and sinful," and wanted to quarantine AIDS patients back in 1992. Our country will be ruined if we let this delusional Jesus freak into the White House. He's worse than Bush!

  • "What's more troubling, Huckabee saying that we should reflect in our constitition biblical standards of life and marriage ... or a candidate who subscribes to Darwin's theory of evolution and survival of the fittest proposing a health-care program?"

That's a no-brainer if you have ever read the bible - homosexuals, adulterers, and those who work on a Sunday put to death?. For fuck sake, wake up America -- you are starting to scare the rest of us.

  • religious people are so fucked up!

They make me mad, but most of all, sad. Just playing ignorance.

  • Wow, the host knew his stuff and called that idiot out.

  • guy #1: Isn't it crazy that he wants to amend the constitution to be in line with his religion?

guy #2: Not as crazy as basing medicine as Darwinism!

I give the win to guy #1 on this win.

  • Thankfully, this loser is out of the race after today essentially! Whew.

At least Huckabee didn't have a chance to ruin the Republican party as we know it.

  • Do you know what social conservative means....

imo...have money...have military strength...and lose all morals...you lose your society...no matter how much money or how much power.

  • Huckabee is a social conservative ONLY though. He's a liberal in EVERY other way. Don't give me this pie-in-the-sky FairTax theory either. 1) That's pandering by him. 2) It is not even a good plan. It creates 2 taxes. 3) It has ZERO chance of passing.

  • He governed well in AR...

and the Fair Tax can be modified/adjusted as it is implemented.

It will bring 10 trillion being

protected from taxes offshore back into

the economy. The economist and middle managers in rock, coal, cement raw production all say they like the idea.

Sure has been a blackout of any media/discussion concerning this.

  • None of that matters anymore. Huckabee's out of the race. If he couldn't win in SC, he can't win anywhere.

Let this be a lesson to you evangelicals in the future: Keep your religion to yourself. Try to write your god into our Constitution and your ass gets booted out.

  • God Almighty is everyone's God.

And it's just ignorance...that people don't understand that we society needs moral direction from Our Creator...who gives us Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness.

  • "God Almighty is everyone's God."

That's your opinion and you need to learn to separate it from fact.

"And it's just ignorance...that people don't understand that we society needs moral direction from Our Creator..."

And here we go--so it's the government's business to translate the will of Our Creator to the people, is it? It's like talking to the Muslim Brotherhood. You have absolutely no respect for the religious freedom of others.

  • The hell if you won't impose your religious beliefs on me. You just said it was the role of government to make laws based on what you think is the will of "Our Creator". But you're not imposing your beliefs on anyone?

  • Clinton, Obama...both speaking in churches tomorrow. There is a traditional history for laws and a moral code coming from the Bible.

I know that's hard for you to see...and you don't have to see it...but we live in a society that goes by the majority. You can believe whatever you want...your rights end where my nose begins..and same for me.

  • Clinton and Obama are both Christians, at least on paper, and if they want to speak in a church they are free to do so. But you won't catch either of them trying to turn their private religious beliefs into laws that we all have to live by. That's the difference between them and you.

I have no problem with Christians; it's theocracy I object to. If you want to make laws out of what you think "Our Creator" wants, just be prepared to lose an election.

  • I know you believe that, so I won't say anything mean. But if God loves me, he can tell me himself.

  • God Damn it are you fucking kidding me. The Christian Taliban is ever present in America.

  • Your founding fathers gave you Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness! They were men of the enlightenment who FOUGHT for freedom from religious and political dogma. They very deliberately created a SECULAR country with separation of church and state. Keep religion PERSONAL. Do you want a Christian Taliban? Really?

  • We aren't establishing a religion...just promising that each person can choose the best path to their spiritual best. Personally, humanism, secularism, naturalism aren't the best ways to reach the highest of human potential. If you think they are..that's your choice.

We're really into philosophies, worldviews and to each their own...which means that the non-religious shouldn't be elevated either.

  • You are SO disingenuous. The issue is about imposing a particular religious viewpoint through changing the constitution. What's 'each their own' about that. You would be fighting for secularism if the majority religion was not your own. And get this straight. Atheism is a LACK of belief in Allah. NOT a religion. You can relate to that can't you? It just includes your God too.

  • It's about moral limits. Can you eat fetuses?

If they're not human...why not? Because we have limits as to what society will allow.

And to not believe in a spiritual part of reality is a form of spirituality. You need to learn to think for yourself..instead of listening to what others 'think'...good luck!

  • The point is who's moral limits? But you have illustrated my point perfectly. Does it tell you in the bible not to eat fetuses? No! It is an innate taboo known to most cultures. Morality does not come from God, but from our social ancestry. Also a quick Google shows:

Kutti pi, the flesh of an unborn animal fetus, unique to the Anglo-Indian community in India, is considered a delicacy despite its being abhorred as taboo by both parent cultures.

    Do you start to understand?

  • I know this argument....social morals. I don't buy it. If there were not Traditional morals through the Scripture...this world would be filled with evil and tyrants...imo.

  • I know, this is a hard one. I've been there! I was brought up fundamentalist. But I read a lot of books. Modern scientists are studying the evolution of morality. Elephants, Chimps and most social animals have a morality similar to our own. But if you have been brainwashed to not study the findings of the finest scientific minds in the world. I have no hope of teaching you. Creationist?

  • 4 year master's of divinity..emphasis on ecotheology and one year master's work in environmental microbiology.

And in my opinion, life was Created.

  • Ahh, you have a lot invested...

'If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.' (Henry David Thoreau)

  • It's what we don't know that amazes me.

  • Then you have a lot to be amazed by! Don't be a man of one book. Reality IS amazing, trust me. Evolution is fascinating.

  • I don't believe you understand what we don't know. Reality is bigger than our imaginations.

  • Brainwashed? haha....Its a good thing to educate yourself but you must always keep in mind that the Bible is the words of God, the most high. Those are the words that people nneed to live by and in the end no scientific reports or research will ever destroy the reality that there is a God.

  • One problem... there is no "God."

  • and are you sir prepared to bet your eternity on that notion? The status of the current world as compared to the prophecies in revelation are undeniable. Unfortunately ignorance goes a long way... Ive gotten into to many athiest arguments on here and they lead nowhere because of extremely closed minded, ignorant people. This is my last comment so i wish you the best in whatever descision you choose to make regarding your life

  • I am not willing to believe in something that has no evidence to back it up. If you have evidence for "God" then please provide it.

  • The world IS filled with evil and tyrants. imo if morality was recaptured from religion the penny might drop more easily that it is a good idea. Ethical teachings are lost by requiring people, especially the young, to accept fanciful supernatural authorship, when in reality it is just the logically best way. They don't want to accept supernatural fairy stories and they are right. Morality is the baby thrown out with the bathwater.

  • The biggest threat to America is not communism, it's moving America toward a fascist theocracy... -- Frank Zappa

  • or fascist anti-theist secular naturalism.

You choose...Frank did do a lot of drugs!

  • My values are very similar to Mike's and I hope with persuasion that more Americans will see the need for a strong moral society, that is grounded in the spiritual attributes to the best of our personal and therefore collective understanding.

  • I am all for a strong moral society - I am not for a legally enforced god - for obvious reasons.

  • Well...don't drink the secularist poison...(Kool-Aid)

nobody is going to enforce a religion on you.

  • Morality? From the Bible? LOL!!!

  • It comes from The Spirit - first and then your reason, Tradition, Experience and Scripture.

  • We were given the right to have a spiritual underpinning in our gov't. The Founders believed in God...but not establishing a religion. Atheism, Naturalism, Secularism are also forms of a personal spirituality...and people have the right to believe and exercise these beliefs. I love that Mike stands for his personal spirituality...it's what makes us 'a more perfect union' as we debate and move forward as a country.

  • The pundit really has taken out of context Huckabee's comment.

Also Evolution by mutation is an unfounded theory.

  • "Evolution by mutation is an unfounded theory." Wow. You can't be serious. If you are, here's some reading material for you: talkorigins(dot)org

  • The idea of marriage now is one of romance, but it has a long history of a means of announcing ones property rights over women, as well as turning women into products that can be used for trade. It has a very unimpressive history, as far as doing any good is concerned, and I don't think it's worth making into any meaningful discussion at this level.
