  • Four people own Mustangs

  • that is a beautiful color

  • I am looking to put the hotcam in my 94 firebird formula. I currently have a cat back flowmaster, K&N CAI, 160 thermostat, and SLR performance chip. I plan to accumulate all the parts and do the swap all at once along with porting/plaining my heads. I have already bought 1.6 roller rockers and pushrods and am about to order the hotcam. What else will I need and where is the cheapest place I can get the parts? Thanks

  • you dont need that much overlap or lsa on an engine that spends most of its time under 6000rpm muscle cars guys that from import revving machines

  • sweet ass ride

  • @hulk3606

    thanks man

  • im thinking about getting the lt4 hot cam kit for my stock lt1 do u like this kit ? would i need any modifications or can i just install the kit?

  • @hulk3606

It is a good kit and with decent power gains. Only draw back is in an automatic transmission a higher stall converter is needed. At least something in the 2400+ RPM range for drivability. It is a very streetable cam

  • camero's are gay

  • @guitarpro48 People who cant spell camAro are gay...

  • @guitarpro48 people that think camaros are gay are gay

  • @guitarpro48 wow your soo cool

  • what kinda of hp gains did u see with the cam and do u reccomend it?

  • @runninfoo398

It was pretty decent, not sure exact power numbers but a tune was needed. Once the converter went in it was pretty much night an day.

  • what exhaust do you have? i have an lt4 hotcam as well, still workin on the full lt4 conversion. im running a 80 series flowmaster and i hate it.

  • @celinamsu55 Borla Catback exhaust

  • @onebadlt123 nice man, i ended up going with gmmg, sounds sick as fuck! you should hear it man, no videos cause i blew my motor, but i was also pushin 517 to the back wheels... 150 shot got wired in wrong by a buddy that i used to trust, not now haha hit the juice at 140 and boom! 34lbs of oil pressure dropped

  • @celinamsu55

Ouch man, that sucks hard. Lesson learned!

  • @onebadlt123 yeah! i guess i cashed out ok, guy paid 2500 for it, it had a salvage title and a blown motor, cosmetically was flawless lol

  • hey dude, did you install only the lt4 hot cam allone or with the rocker arms and springs?

  • @s6dark6angel6s with 1.6 bowtie roller rockers and springs

  • how did you get it tuned

  • @Nathan318 PCMforless. Google it and it will bring you to the website.

  • sounds amazing wish my 3.8 sounded like this

  • i have a LT4 hot cam ... i just baught ..... what parts did you get for ur cam install ? did you go threw summit or jegs ...

  • @caliwood909 I bought all my parts through scoggin-dicky parts center. google it for the website. Did cam, pushrods, roller rockers (1.6 ratio) and LT4 springs.

  • oh wow i think i found the exhaust sound ive been looking for!!!!

  • She sounds and looks beautiful, i have a 94 Z28 that is this exact color, medium quasar blue metallic, hope one day she looks and sounds as good as yours, great job

  • @TheBlaze87 she will : )

  • so did you do the hotcam or did you have someone else build it? what did the whole thing end up running you?

  • @TheBlaze87 I bought the package in pieces so I didn't get everything new. Just the basic hotcam stuff it ran me about 400 bucks then I did all the install myself.

  • sounds great man. just lower that idle to 850 next time you get it tuned and it'll sound even better.

  • yeah its since been lowered with a 3200 stall so now its a lot more choppy and not as high.

  • Sounds like someone farting in a bath tub.

  • great sound!

  • sounds beautiful!!!!

  • What is different on the LT1 and LT4? i only know of camshaft? heads and intake...can someone help me out because i got an 94' LT1 for free it was flooded in katrina and i want to build an. My lt1 is 4 bolt main btw.

  • rev up dude

  • In 98 I had one of these in a 95 T/A with Borla exhaust and Tunning by Chris Harrington of Dyno Tech put 330 rwhp down. lol with just cam cat back and tunning lol

Loved the hot cam great sound and power.

    And Yes lower the idle.

  • If you want this cam to become very musical...lower the idle RPM a couple hundred. Perfection.

  • All I hear is the Borla exhaust

  • I have the same car- I may have to do the Hotcam now- sounds NICE

  • Sounds beautiful

  • I got the motor in my k5 blazer.

  • EveryMN obviously is a FORD man.. becuz he dosnt even have a car for himself.. hes representing noting so he feels privleged to dog someone elses shit.. (that sounds reallly Health) so just read his coments and laugh. cus this is a fine example of an LT1.. keep em coming!

  • is the zz9 cam the same as the hot cam? thanks

  • sound's good.what are the numbers?

  • Nice! Do you have the 1.6rr's yet? i have a lt4 hotcam with the 1.6 rr's in my 78 i love it.(LT1 is out of my 95 caprice)

  • Yeah I got the bowtie 1.6's on there right now

  • did you install the cam yourself?

  • yes I did, about 2 days work

  • sick ass maro

  • thx

  • hey man sick car i have a 97 Z its a 30th ann but had to remove the strips do to double layerd thanx to the tard that owned it before me but i need some insight on what to do to it man thanx

  • you all are faggots that car is perfect in every way

  • Sounds like a car i wish i could drive right Now

  • sounds badass! I was thinking of doing the swap, can you tell me how much difference it made at the track?

Eid you loose any bottom end and did you keep stock heads. Thanks!

  • That fart noise reminds me of a solid-cammed big block Chevy.

All you hot rodding noobs (by noobs, I mean X-pipe/EFI/roller cam noobs) think that raspy, trumpety F1 caar sound is good.

  • that "fart noise" is what makes imports cry ;)

  • That "fart" noise is caused by the idle being up high. It was set at 1000 (tach reading) which is really about 1100 actual.

Also this was with stock manifolds, so it gives it that washed out, echoing, blub noise. I got long tubes now

  • Hey beautiful car! I have a 95 z28 with 2.73 gears and, after all my research, came up with pacesetter LTs and lt4 hot cam. Can I get by with just the Cam (no lifters, springs, all that) or do I NEED the hot cam kit? Can my stock transmission handle the power? I notice when I am pushing half on the throttle when im going 40 mph, then I floor it my car jumps a little. Maybe a motor mount maybe a trans. problem. Thanks for your help!

  • get your car fully serviced before you do any mods. your trans should be fine if you don't beat on it too much. And get the whole kit.

  • my 86 IROC used to seem to jump when you rele accelerated it, and had a slight pull, it was a tranny mount

  • I will get the tranny mount checked again. I've went through three so far, no lie. My mechanic wonders wtf I do with the car, but I've broken three flooring it on sticky tires

  • haha, well im no expert. but thats what it was on mine. so i just thought id throw tht out to u

  • The hot cam kit dont come with lifters and pushrods. Its 600 on summit or sometimes a guy on ebay sells them back order for 500. The kit is 600 plus you will need new lifters and pushrods depending on the mileage of your motor. Anything over 100,000 miles you should replace them or if your close to 100,000 you might want to replace them anyway. You might also need hardend pushrods for the extra lift of the cam. You also might want a stall if you have an auto trans.

  • You will want to upgrade the valve springs when doing the swap. The springs that come with the Hotcam kit are marginal at best. I would order just the cam, then get a good set of valve springs and the Comp pro-mag rocker arms.

  • @wally2714 well i wouldnt even think about getting a cam with only 2.73 gears... you would break that rear end in a heart beat. you can buy a cam thats not much bigger than stock and probably get away with it but i highly recommend getting new lifters. if it was the tranny mount it would make a loud thump on hard take offs. i would check the motor mount. or maybe it is the tranny mount you just arent taking off hard enough

  • Oh really (breaking the rear with 2.73s) okay. I might just go with 3.73s cause I just bought a bike. Maybe when I sell it I can get headers and a cam and a new rear. =) I think it was just the tranny mount. Since then I got a polyerthane, the vibrations are horrible but I like going to the track and lasting more than a run (traany mount always breaks)

  • i know what you mean ive had 2 camaros and both had bad tranny mounts. and yes those 2.73s dont hold very much power. theyre only good to about 300hp or so. 3.73 is the way to go. thats what i have in my 81. or you can just go to a junkyard and get a ford 9". theyre easy to convert to fit under chevys and they hold up a lot better than the stock rear end chevy puts under their camaros

  • Sounds good thanks a lot

  • omg i LOVE it... anyone who knows anything about cars knows the sound of cams when they hear it and they know that the car is probably much more powerful then it seems, leave yer exhaust the way it is

  • omg... like every lt4 hotcam camaro i know is mystic teal metallic... lol... like mine in my video section

  • Nice loping idle. I hope you have a high stall converter!!!

  • that "fart"noise is what you call a cam with a decent amount of lift. haha. fart noise

  • sounds like a damn motorcycle

  • dude man that sounds horrible, if i were u i would put a exhaust with a deeper rumble, not like the fuckin fart noise that you have

  • for real.. and i have subwoofers on my computer.. doesnt help it...

  • go put that coffee can full of bumble bees on your honda and shut up.

  • sexy
