  • How clear sighted he was, eloquent, and looks like Count Dracula.

  • I think he was one classy dude.

  • Well.... not really top 5 :))))))))))

  • As any one with the slightest inteligence can see the shah is brilliant and this idiot british journalist is rude and misinformed and not intelligent enough even to ask the correct questions. The criminal British have always expolited Iran and Iranian oil, and this video shows the extent of how vulgar the British were and still are. Britain is a nation who has always expolited the world yet is always broke. The Queen and Prince Charles owe Iran a big apology for instasling Khomeini.

  • At least this leader of Iran knew how to SPEAK ENGLISH

  • lol Ignore what he said "hurrr why he speak English to English speaking interviewer"

  • he was not more than a poppet. he was not even allowed to speak in his own language while he was interviewed ,,poppet is like a fleas in a pig

  • @BJPen27

a puppet who created OPEC? who raised the price of oil, against western interest? he was speaking in english, cause he knew english! dummy! if he was a puppet, he would be in power like saudi's! dummy!

  • I think this interview got him into trouble ! He should've kept his mouth shut n continued his plans ! No one is perfect he made mistakes but after 32 years ppl regretting for takin him down, RIP the king of our beloved country

  • khomeini wa khameni both motherfuckers

  • fuck ur english hhhhhhhh i tainiiiiiiiiiiinkkk

  • he was right, wasn't he :)

  • OMG! His english is amazingly good! Exactly like Ahmadinejad ! Lol ha ha ha he cant even speak farsi stupid cow.

  • Pedare IRANZAMIN Rafti Va melatiro Yatim Kardi

  • Stupid ass Shah. The CIA boy.

  • It's so obvious that after he died UK did not produce anything and so got low prices, when they put prices high again, US started the war, and so on, and obviously e was right UK is in an economic crisis because they dont do anything, look at the young society..........

  • Since he died, everything got fed up, i Iran, now they kill women for no reason, UK and the rest of the world has become more racist, and is taking our rights, for example I'm from east of europe, why can't I work in the UK, after all it's one planet, and my country is in the EU...

  • @thesomebody3 I couldn't agree more. I have old family friends which are Persian and suffered hugely in the take over of Iran, many of whom were imprisoned in solitary confinement because of there pro shah beliefs. Although they now reside successfully in the UK all believe the world is significantly worse off since.

  • Rest in peace. He was really father of Iran.

  • @RealSuperMan you need to hit the books if u genuinely think that

  • Shah was the best

  • no one destroyed the country except those evil sheiks, who were prepared by UK and USA. when shah discovered that he was played by his good friends such as USA and UK, he had no choice but to disappear.

  • that is not true that the dynasty before shah destroyed the country. It was british plot to change the dynasty in order to prevent democracy in Iran. If Pahlavi shad give himself a thaough that Iran would survive with democracy, he would survive too. But he can't sit there and ask UK to change, ignoring his own country to be on the third world list.

  • dump idiot !

    persia is more than persepolis.

persia is Safawid dynasty persia is iran and turan.

persia is scythia...persia is more and more it is world-empire!

shah was dump ...he hasn´t heard his people he has ingore them !

  • @ScythianGerman chi migi to? Shah ignored the people, because he was busy making Iran powerfull again, since the Dynasty's before him allmost destroyd our beloved country.

Than he listind to the people and went away in exile, than khomenei came. The people were the fault khamenei is destroying our country right now!

  • @AmirArProductions

    this was shit

  • @ScythianGerman

Before you are criticizing other people then at least learn to spell dumb*

  • khoda biyamorzatesh, and to his critics go .... ... .....

  • He could have done so much for Iran, but sadly he was deluded and did not foresee the dangers that the muslims and the people that supported them would pose. He could have stopped the revolution and the islamists had he started reforming the political system instead of repressing anybody that in any way criticized him. He was not very bright.

  • @astroboomboy "dangers that muslims pose?" So the Shah was a non-muslim?

    dumbass retard.

  • @manz125 The Shah was a secular muslim, he was not an islamist. I should have written it more clearly. He did not see the dangers that the islamist posed to his regime, and to the welfare of the people.

Why do you see the need to call someone a dumbass retard based on a comment on youtube? I assume you are muslim?

  • @astroboomboy You mean to ask, "Am I a Muslim like the Shah?" or "Am I an Islamist?"

Since you so clearly made the distinction. Right?

  • I am 18, I must say, were people drunk when they started protesting? In 1979?

  • @021jaguar No, they had a western puppet for a leader.

  • @manz125 Seriously, it's better to have a western puppet as a leader than arab puppet, and according to the interviews i saw he doesn't sound like he's 100% positive about US.

  • @021jaguar LOL Ahmedinajad is an Arab puppet? There is a cold-war going on between Iran and the Sunni Arab nations (if you haven't heard).

A US and UK backed coup d'état overthrew of the democratically elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh on 19 August 1953 and put the Shah in power. So despite what he sounds like in this interview, he was still a slave to the powers that gave him that job.

  • @manz125 Yeah like regime of Islamic Republic didn't kill and torture thousands of men and women. It's better to have shah than these Islamic morons in the leadership of Iran.

  • @021jaguar The last democratically elected president of Iran was Mohammad Mosaddegh, who the Shah replaced in a coup by the CIA. Because Mosaddegh had nationalized Iran's oil industry. Blame the US for the coup and ending Iran's democracy.

  • Iran is a great and a hopeful nation for a free society. No outsiders should try to abolish their freedom will power.

Ths People have had overcame many tyrants of different ideologies and all sort of enemies attacks for many millenniums. For an Iranian, Philosophically and logically, Family comes first and the families of the family, ultimately the Iranian NATION.

It is a multi level national pride, therefore They will prevail if …

  • mollahay ma esmeshoono nemitoonan benevisan, khoda biamorzadet

  • But I thought the shah was a puppet for the west -__-

  • he looks like phil leotardo...

  • Scumbag. Torture is us. Read about who installed this manure pile.

  • My God, What a Man, What a Ruler, What a King, What Insight. And all those years we been spoon-feded that Shah was a puppet of the West and bad for Iranian masses. Pakistan lost a personal friend when Shah departs Iran.

I am sure one day Iranian People will get a good government and put those Khominiyets in their place.

    Long Live Iran

  • @yalmazalpha Yes, he was a ruler who said at the end of the interview.."what? people don't want democracy?".

    Hello 30 years later.

  • if all the dictators around the world were like Pahlavi the world could live in peace and hormony,

  • since Pahlavi took over the leadership including Great Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Shah totally executed Criminals and politicals, 1358 people including 17 sharivar, so in 50 years of rulling Iran they killed 1358. but since 1979(1357) to now execution of political activiest from left and right wings and religious

minority is over 133000 people and then you have criminal and drug dealers and GHESAS victims total over 200000 peolple.

  • As much as I hate this smug buffoon and his even more smug perso nationalist followers, his overthrowing was a great tragedy to iran and the middle east. heck maybe even the whole world.

  • PAHVALI IS THE WORST DICTATOR EVER WITH OTHERS SUCH aS HITLER , STALIN, MUSSOLINI .

  • @CouscousVert

He were not a dictator you fucking cunt

  • @TheCyrusification bullshit ofc he was!

  • @BoneBeast

    Why

  • @TheCyrusification why what? He killed all socialists communists. No one had rights for a political party. You needed his permission to do anything!

  • @BoneBeast

    problem officer?

  • @BoneBeast

we all saw the result of stupid communist and terrorist muslim's "political party"! give me a break!

  • @zets13 communist? what the hell are you talking about? khomenei killed over 30.000+ socialist and communist because a promise from the US that Iran would not become a left-wing country .

  • @BoneBeast

He killed many of them, indeed, but do i need to explain you the role of those poor communist (mojahedin) in revolution , and their support for an khomeini? in fact they started the riots of 1979 and paved the way for khomeini to return. Have you seen the pictures of masoud rajavi kissing khomeinis paws?

  • 3:33-3:53 HE HIT THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD!!!

  • According to my readings, the Shah was very much puppet of Washington and its masters, but took a turn during the 1970s, so then Washington needed him to be "sacrificed" and didn't do anything to stop the Iranian Revolution of the late 1970s, when the Shah was finally replaced with I guess nothing better in many respects, though while it apparently is better, today, at working on Iranian sovereignty.

Shah was apparently bad for decades, but came to change for the better; I've read.

  • I don't know of many good websites to recommend to learn about the 1953 history of the Washington-lead coup d'état, what basically worked out to be one anyway, to; but, globalresearch . ca has recommendable articles that mention this history and of the Shah, who became a US puppet and should've never accepted to benefit from the Washington-lead overthrow of the prior leader who apparently was very good. Saddam Hussein made a similar mistake, against the prior leader in Iraq, for Washington.

  • His words on "being permissive" + on "blowing up", are predicting the current situation in Europe today! Our permissive society, the result of America's corruption of our societal ways, has led to the large influx of Muslim Non-Persian immigrants (Arab, North Africans ,Turks) which has led to the HUGE problems in Europe. We are falling apart, near bankrupt and society itself is under heavy stain! We are too much like the USA! LISTEN TO HIS WORDS, HIS IS PREDICTING THE FUTURE AKA THE PRESENT!

  • @BeamMeUpSir

It's definitely not only the fault of the USA. Europeans, many, were imperialist, colonialist, capitalist, resource robbers, enslavers, ... before the USA ever began to be known for history; and it was Europeans, Brits anyway, who formed the USA, hegemonically and genocidally. Spaniards did it in So. America, and French and Spanish were doing it in the USA before handing it over to the Brits who formed the US govt. And these govts continue this today.

  • @BeamMeUpSir The Shah's "words on "being permissive" + on "blowing up"" make sense. He spoke what seems to be a lot of SENSE in this interview, while the interviewer seems to be pro-imperialist, et cetera, without having been honest enough to state this, and also being possibly too incompetent to realise that this is the reality we had, and still have today.

But, this Shah should've never accepted to be part of the coup d'état against the prior leader, who was good.

  • In retrospect the sheer presumptive and Imperial arrogance embedded in the interviewer's questions truly exposes the Anglo-American (+Zionist) entire approach for what it is. It reminded me of the recent Wallace interview of Ahmadinejad. I think the Shah appeared more respectable to the west than the following generation's revolutionaries - but the understanding of the real geo-political state of affairs did not differ between the Shah and the present Islamic Republic..

  • @hep48 Yes, the interviewer was a clown and was fool for thinking that everyone who'ld hear or listen to this interview would think that he won in this interview, at all. He only did as you state; putting on display the arrogance of industrialized "West" leaders and their masters. A little more, and he'ld be preaching the "art of genocide for profit", and that, of course, also means preaching violent thievery; certainly not petty theft. It's all a RACKET, not fair business dealings.

  • Jasonthemankiller, you shameless lier. Even amnesty international and the mollahs sources admited there were no more then 1 thousend three hundred execution in 37 years under the shah. most were criminals. This year alone you islamiuc republic has hanged 620 people officially. Khomenie executed 12 thousend political prisnors in 1988 in two days. HYou are a shameless lier

  • @parham001 I don't know who HYou is, but you aren't sufficiently informed and should gain much more real knowledge of the subject matter at hand, before stating any opinions about it. 1,300 executions in 37 years is very plausible in Iran, but people like you need to provide references for your claims so that readers can verify for ourselves. Most people writing/speaking like you don't know how to do this properly tho, so you never provide supporting references. Any different with you?

  • 2:52 the price of weed...??

  • @CyrusThe3rd Wheat, not weed; son of the Des-fous family. Replay that second or two of the clip to be able to hear that it's about the WHEAT market.

We probably wouldn't get much "weed", aka "smoke", marijuana, pot, ... from Iran, tho shipment (weed and hash) passing thru Iran, SECRETLY, since the laws are extremely strict there against drug trafficking, and there's also punishment of women who're "shamefully" raped, too; well, such shipment is possible. Just don't get caught, if Iranian.

  • @CyrusThe3rd

I don't mean shipment of raped Iranian women; although, becoming refugees and accepted in other countries, and being able to flee Iran and such places, would surely be best for such victims.

For shipment thru Iran I was speaking of marijuana and hashish. It's very ok, but not according to Iranian law. Some Iranian guy got "busted" several years ago for trafficking hash and not a large amount, but he got a 15-yr prison sentence.

Stupid, bs war on "drugs", but not against Big Pharma

  • Thank you, for posting.

  • MASHALA IN SHAE MAST!

  • is he still alive ? or any 1 from his family

  • He woke up, and realized that the oil was in wrong hands, but it was hard to get back control, the USA & GB found somebody new (the islamist) to replace him.

Today they are playing "enemies" while the FEAR get billions of weapons sold in the Saudiarabia e.t.c.................Read books and be open minded dear people.

  • I would add that if you want to grade two regime's performance overall. Shah's get -2 and Mullahs get -100. Well it speaks itself which one was better, but it is the matter of choosing between bad and worse. I would say why we don't demand for the good for our future. True democracy, where there is not a privilege group like "Royal Family" to us. Where different political views are tolerated. When there is a fair distribution of income and wealth spread put throughout the nation.

  • Thank you for your comment. First I have to clear this out that if someone like me criticizes the Shah's regime and the Shah performance and belief system, it does not mean the approval for the current regime at all. I am completely agree that the Shah's performance in our economy section and foreign policy was way better than the current corrupted monster regime. My point is Shah did not promote democracy (freedom of speech of different political views) as he should.

  • Why did he even tolerate such a questioner and expose himself to such animosity?

Also answers could have been more political, too much pride will bring trouble and it did.

  • that man is so fucking stupid

he was a slave of america !!!

  • @honkeyssmalls your mom is fucking stupid.

  • @honkeyssmalls Do you agree that the problem with iran is Ali kharkosdeh and Hussein madarghahbe and Reza kaftarbaz ?

  • You are going to blow up, you are going to go bankrupt...... How right he was....

  • fuck him

  • Great man! Loved his nation.

  • i love it, iranians always blame america for what has happened, if it wasn't for the iranian people, these bearded fuckers wouldn't be here in the first place

  • @plantech101 70% of the population was biorn after the revolution. Most of the % of the population didn't even participate in the revolution, only 6 million did, including kids and women.

  • @persiandudeee think what you like

  • @plantech101

actually it was jimmy carter and air france to blame for the bearded revolution in Iran.

  • @IriianWarriorWithin yeah, sure. i disagree but ah well

  • ایران دیگه درست نمیشه...

  • Poor shah. Iran now would have been one of the best nations of the world. see what islam does to a nation.

  • This is so humiliating for all people of Iran. Shah says people of Iran do not know anything about democracy! I am so happy he went to hell! and all his arrogant family shame on them, ruined our country. He is so illiterate by the way!

  • @amirbk60 He was a much better leader than that shit you have now......

  • @amirbk60 Oh and Khamenei is literate? Fucking Mojtaba can't even read or write.Shah and his family were educated in Switzerland and knew several languages.

But do you agree that problem with Iran is fucking Ali kharkosdeh and koskesh Hussein?

  • shaho ye khabrneghar bazy dade...;)

  • Everyone knows that the british empire interfered in many countries around the world oppressing and expoiting them We don't need to be reminded. But when the Shah criticised brtiish workers and people so directly he think he made a big diplomatic mistake and it is just possible it may have sealed his fate as far as british support goes.

  • The shah was one of those guys in history that eludes a fixed definition. Was he a right-wing dictator, with a brutal secret police, a lackey of the United States, a "modernist" which made Iran a cheap imitation of the west, as some charged; or was he a pragmatic statesman, a model of independence for the Third World, a succesful world leader?? I cannot tell for certain. i believe he was a bit of everything of the above. His mistake was his cult of personality, and a bit of overtly arrogance

  • @kajunshaman I think Islam has fucked your brain Instead of the real problem which is Ali koondeh and Husein kiri or Mohammad bachebaz or Faty jendeh , you are delusional as to the chance ran had at greatness. As I believe , kir tu Ghoran that has caused all this misery around the world and keeps killing everyday. Reedam be Ghoran.

  • His biggest mistake: 5:45

  • The Shah had a point. When the price of oil in the worldwide market is cheap, no one has a problem. It's when it gets expensive that it becomes a problem, because wester prosperity depends on aquiring cheap energy. His prosperity depends on higher prices of the product that his country, and many of the countries of the Middle-East are exporting to the West.

  • @TheAkashdeepJabandar: for someone who looks like he mildly gets it, you sound like a juvenile disrespectful numskull to mutter 'shit' about someone's country while spending time commenting it and its people.

It wasn't France alone that staged the so-called revolution and installed the current regime. It was the 'western alliance' who was hurting coz of the soaring oil prices and saw him -at least- partly responsible. Iran's current regime is good business for the West and it has always been!!

  • OMG, He was such an inteligent man, no reason why they couldnt have him around.

Imagine if he still was in power, Iran and its neighborhood would have been first world contries. But no, they couldnt let him have it. fuckerssssss

  • A Great Leader! We shall always remember Him for His sense of duty.

  • I couldn't give a shit about Iran but I find it mildly interesting that here the Shah was preparing his country for 1st world status; an educated, prosperous and civilized nation with enough clout to get its way in the world. The West couldn't have that! That crazy diseased pedophile worshiping twat Ayatollah was unleashed by France and he took Iran into the toilet. the poor Shah was a pariah. We did to Iran what we've been doing to Africa, breaking them down so we can steal their resources.

  • The same old shit, different name, let shah be the dictator, now let Mullah be the dictator.

  • I didn't know shah was such a brave man. This interview shows his intellectuality and the level of stress he had with the super powers of the world

  • That son of bitch killed 300 000 Iranians .

Not even Saddam killed 300 000 of hes ppl.

    May he rut in hell.

    Shashid Shah

  • @jasonthemankiller

SHAHANSHAH isnt a son of...but YOU are a son of GAYZ

  • The journalist in the end asks a good question: do you think as more prosperous your country is becoming, the people r going to demand the same democracy as in UK. It was true, they did not know how to compromise prosperity, growth and democracy, while the powerful religion was on its way too. It is a complex task in Iran

  • 3:10

  • Is that Michael Buerk?

  • How can you be Iranian and support this puppet. You should be ashamed of yourself lol.

  • @alfvar well how about you dictate to us who we should support... go ahead, i'm listening

  • LONG LIVE THE SHAH !!! JAVED SHAH !!!! LONG LIVE IMPERIAL IRAN !!!

    LONG LIVE THE PERSIANS !!!

  • The Shah and the Pahlavis were not perfect and as each day passes from that dark day in Feb of 1979 the world realizes more & more how vital he was to the stability of the world if not the region. The saddest part of this dark conspiracy of the 20th cent is the majority of the Persian still don't know who he really was and what he meant to them. He would've been the 2nd Cyrus given time. BTW there's no such thing as middle east that a derogatory term invented by the brits.

  • Shah>khomeini

  • @Cleverman50

I suggest you chanse your ID to StupidMan50!!

Have you forgotten that US and Britain were his enemy? Jimmy Carter financed Khomeini by paying 150 million dollars to him. Britain provoked Iranians by bias news coverage through a group of anti-Shah Journalist advertising only opposition voice whom admit this mistake and are very sorry for that now after 32 years.

So your grounds to judge Shah, is based on the behavior of his enemies?! You are such a fool.

    Javid shah

  • @payambreaker Dorod

  • @payambreaker

My Iranian friends always told me that Khoemeni was funded by the West......this was a part of history that really surprised me.

  • @suryavajra

Yes dear, Jimmy Carter is the god father of world chaos. I'm not an enemy of the west. only look at the stability of middle east at the time of Shah. Jimmy Carter, Kissinger and general Eisenhower planed to Islamize Iran so that communism would not spread. This idea is as old as 70 years. that is how Taliban was formed. Khomeini was supported by jimmy carter. the so called of intellectuals who helped Khomeini were those Iranians working in SIA.

  • @suryavajra

They have told you the absolute truth. the Islamic revolution which we refer to as the Devolution was a conspiracy of the west. but what goes around comes around. look how terrorism has grown by the irrational decisions of west. terrorism did not exist at the time of Shah. Khomeini is the founder of Hezbollah, Hamas, and later Algaida. all these groups were formed based on what Khomeini preached. Please watch the video of Ronald Reagan who says USA back-stabbed the Shah of Iran.

  • @payambreaker Hello. Why do you say this? I do not understand why Jimmy Carter would finance Khomeini, when the Shah was quite anti-Communist, and effectively crushed the Tudeh. Furthermore, it was the Americans that helped overthrow Mossadeq and re-install the Shah.

Anyway, I hope the great Persina people will overthrow the Islamist barbarians - and Veleyat a Faqih, become no more than a page in history. Long live and prosper, the secular Persian people!

  • @payambreaker BRAVO!!! Love to Iran and Iranians, our cultural cousins, Love from Armenia!!

  • The thing that angers Iranians is that he was not as much a dictator compared to the current iranian government

  • @Cleverman50 Please, if you dont know the truth then its better not to harshly and so openly trash someone.

  • @projectivolume But, with the prior said, Washington was extremely responsible for the Shah coming to power, the USA saw to it, secretly, including for by far most USA'ns. Washington and its masters distanced themselves when the Shah became business-unfriendly-like during the 1970s, so the Shah could be outed by Iranians, who didn't get much, if any better afterwards, but while neither regime is anywhere as bad as Washington and its masters are. Lesser evil isn't blessed, btw.

  • What an incredible person! So so sad, whole family was torn apart!

  • @projectivolume

Of course, he was a tyrant wtf

  • @projectivolume USA and Britain Govt help the overthrow of his Govt? thats astonishing .

  • @projectivolume How about the activities of SAVAK?

  • @SultanChase wrote, "How about the activities of SAVAK?", in response to a post by CyrusThe3rd. Important point to raise, the SAVAK.

Plenty of articles at globalresearch . ca mention the SAVAK and their CIA sort of training, to be assassins and torturers; hence, extremely oppressive and unjust.

I don't know what they were like in the 1970s, for then the Shah became decreasingly obedient for Washington and its masters. But the SAVAK have a history of extreme or total injustice.

  • @Cleverman50

yes so much so he said he wanted to make Iran have the highest standard of living than anywhere in the world, you think the mullahs want that?

  • @IriianWarriorWithin

The Mullahs are Traitors. They work for America and the Zionist regime of Israel,

They want to rule over the gulf world under the name 'the Persian gulf', they oppress the sunnis and never allowed them to build mosques and give the Jews more rights.

and Russia just sells weapons on both sides.

What do we know about Mullahs? they Cry death to israel and America, AND? never helped Iraq and Afghanistan but instead gave maps for Americans to shoot and allowed them on the way.

  • its is true, in britain people get paid a lot for a little work, and they never realise the value of money and they spend it unwisely. this is a problem, too much holidays in ibiza

  • I'm impressed he kept his cool and eloquence considering the interviewer is such a prick. But u can tell Shah is livid by looking at his eyes.

  • iranians are not arabs

  • he was a dumb fuck

  • @IranianSuperMan Who was a dumb fuck ??? :-?

  • @The4DivaZ the shah was

  • @The4DivaZ And why is that ??

  • Another white person looking down his nose at a person of color, this man was the shah meaning he was the King of iran, would he inteview the queen of england in such a harsh manner ? i think not
