  • i wanted to see bayne win it, but man oh man when i saw labonte, i was automatically rooting for him

  • lol he did that so perfectly putting the block on edwards.

  • The awkward moment when the kid that was born the day after you wins the 500.....

  • Congrats to Trevor Bayne ... Best of luck to you and the team this year

  • Man, I hate this drafting system. I love the old way of winning races, winning it by yourself like a true NASCAR driver.

  • I am now a Trevor Bayne fan!

  • WORST DAYTONA 500 EVER!

  • @ULTIMATEICEYOU no way man, one to remember by far

  • I was a fan of Bayne before he even came to the cup series. Glad he is well known now.

  • 0:42 make that 3 championships....

  • "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?...... uhughuhguuhhguu..... WHAT!?"

  • Carl Edwards finished 2nd. Typical of Carl.

  • @afbocc HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • no one thanks bobby labonte...without him bayne wouldve never won

  • @sportsfan0518 i wanted labonte to win, i noticed him up there and i was like go man go. great guy

  • 1: CINDERELLA'S GLASS SLIPPER!!

D.W.: TREVOR BAYNE IS GONNA WIN THE DAYYTONA 500!!

Mike: HE BEAT 'EM!! HE DID IT!!

    CROWD-: WHHHOOOOOOOOO!!! CHEER!! YEAH!!!

Said ALL at once. Go Trevor Bayne!

  • @UNpilot15 No one predicted Trevor Bayne winning this race. Bayne drove smart, drafted the right people, and was in the right place at the right time. And with a team that can't afford running the whole year, this is a big win for them.

Also, Bayne is still learning in the Cup Series. You can't expect him to finish in the Top 10 EVERY week after winning the 500.

  • @SlicedSmoke14 i actually predicted bayne to win it, cuz im that stupid, or thats what i thought

  • @UNpilot15 if winning the daytona is so easy, how come series champions like tony stewart or the labonte brothers haven't done it? more importantly, why havent u done it?

  • @sgtpepper2211 I said it's easy COMPARED to Darlington. I didn't say it was SO easy. read more carefully next time

  • @UNpilot15 once again u dont really have the right to say that unless youve raced at both. and even then, its just one person's opinion not a fact. theres been plenty of people to win at darlington and not at daytona. its not fair to demean his win saying that it was an easier track. its different for all of the drivers. think more carefully next time

  • @UNpilot15 He doesn't have to--he could retire and he's a legend because he's won the Daytona 500.

  • @jk59beads He's a legend just because he won the 500? Remember Derrike Cope? He won the Daytona 500 and the Budweiser 500 in 1990. Those were his only two victories since his career start in '82 to today. So does winning a Daytona 500 automatically make them the best driver in NASCAR or, as you say, a "legend"? No! And as I stated, Derrike Cope is a perfect example of a flash in the pan that wins the 500 and maybe one or two races and nothing else.

  • @UNpilot15 that move he made coming to the checkers proved that he did not get lucky.

  • @UNpilot15 he just won a Nationwide race at a 1.5 mile, so there you go. He'll be fine.

  • @UNpilot15 Stuck in the 90's,perhaps????

  • whoever disliked this can go to hell. TBAYNE<3

  • My dad passed away 1 month before the Daytona 500 and he was a Wood bro. race team fan since the early 1960s, he would only pull for who ever drove the 21 car, since the 21 car has only raced in a limited amount of races the last several years his favorite driver was Carl Edwards who finished 2nd, My dad also knew the crew chief of the 21 car from a job they worked at in S.C. I also have been a Wood Bro. fan since my childhood and on this fathers Day 2011 I honor my Dad!

  • for all the people who give carl edwards all the credit for pushing trevor bayne to the win,THINK, how far did he push trevor? from the exit of turn 4 to the finish line, thats just 1/4 of a mile while BOBBY LABONTE pushed him the other 4 and 3/4 of the finish, GIVE BOBBY SOME CREDIT!

  • Lee Petty isn't the first winner in his first start. Inagural victories don't count, at least in my opinion.

  • Correct me if i'm wrong but Wood Brothers Last win was at the 2001 Food City 500 at Bristol By Elliot Sadler

  • dale jr couldn't win a race unless 42 other cars crashed!

  • you know for all the people that have said Trevor Bayne did not deserve to win that race F*** YOU He deserved to win as much as Dale JR, Jeff Gordon, or even that cheating idiot Jimmie ''F***ing'' Johnson and this is comming from a from a person who wanted to see Dale JR win. So there you go there is my 2 cents on this topic

  • What a great way to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Wood Brothers / David Pearson victory over Richard Petty!

Way to go Trevor! You are 2 wins away from another landmark victory for your team!

  • Almost lost it getting out of his car.

  • "Are you kidding me?!...uggngnngn..WHAT?!"

  • TREVER BAYNE IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! AND HE IS JUST SOO CUTTE

  • I heard that he was going to run part time. i think now it might be full time.

  • Jack roush showed a lot of class in congratulating him.

  • now THAT was awesome!

  • Wild and intense Daytona 500! A David vs. Goliath miracle!!!

  • i just realized to things:

-No one has been able to go into the white flag lap with the lead and hold on for the win

-There was close finsihes in only the nationwide and truck races

  • hell of a b-day present

  • "This is fairy tale stuff!"

    hahaha. Gotta love DW

  • i picked trevor to win after saturday qualifying practice a week before the 500. i saw he had a rocket, and after seeing shootout practice pretty much everything we knew bout plate racing was thrown out and that the fast cars prevail. Trevor Bayne AWEOMSE JOB MAN! MAKING ME LOOK LIKE A GENIUS!!!!!!

  • @66blaney09 yea, I know. I doesn't really care which is bigger upset... both of them were GREAT.

  • NASCAR is so fake.

  • @JeffersonLambert You do understand that your dead wrong? Am I right? If you don't like Nascar, go somewhere else.

  • @JeffersonLambert if you dont like it then why are you watching this

  • @JeffersonLambert Yeah Jeff....send your metalheads someplace else!!!!

  • @JeffersonLambert stfu up u dickhead nascar is not fake

  • anyone else notice he spins a 3 in the grass

  • I loved that block on Edwards that Bayne made. He's REALLY has a lot of talent!

  • i also thought trevor would win somehow. he was a rookie. he was racing good. and i was thinking he should win. and what do u know. he won! badass race

  • At least there is passing in the two by two style for the entire race their noy glued single file to the bottom for the entire race. Another exciting thing about this style is the restarts because there is such an urgency to get up to catch the two car packs.

  • The 1 dislike was Carl Edwards.

  • @dansing763 More like david ragen

  • @dansing763 carl was happy for him haha idk the dislike may have been bobby labonte for trevvor hanging him out to dry

  • Something to add to those facts: This was David Gilliland's first Top 10 finish since his second place finish in Sonoma in 2008.

  • I've been a fan of his since Nationwide, and I actually told my dad back during the bud shootout that I thought he would be the darkhorse to win. Really glad I was right :) This is just like when I picked Jimmie Johnson as my favourite driver when I was 10 and it was his rookie year.

  • @oxSam11 When he came in 17th at Texas last year, I knew he would be a contender for a win at some point in his Cup Series career. I didn't know he was going to get it in his second start.

Trevor has a great Cup Series future ahead of him.

  • good race, but the pairs of cars got a little old this week, I want them racing as one pack like its meant to be!

  • @phatmattcowboys True, but this race seemed to be the most exciting for me.

  • @SlicedSmoke14 I'd have to say in recent memory 2007's finish at the line was amazing

  • I think this is remarkable, but also has deep meaning, Its no secret that Bayne finished (3)rd in Qualifying and if you add his car number together you get the number 3! (2+1=3!) A Decade after Dale passed he's still passing on the torch at Daytona! Number 3 lives on! What a race! Congrats Trevor!

  • Bayne's car number is 21.

He won Daytona at age 20 years, 1 day.

It was his 2nd career NASCAR race, and 1st Daytona 500

    10 years since Dale Sr.'s death, 2011 Daytona 500 (10 + 11 = 21)

    2 + 1 = 3

  • Happy that Trevor won, but I felt so bad for David Ragan.

  • according to one of ESPN reporter on Twitter, Trevor Bayne's odd of winning this race (according to Las Vegas) was 90-1 odd. AMAZING WIN.

  • This win has made Trevor Bayne a star.I can't say how pleased I am to see this kid win.congrats, dude

  • Way to go Trevor! He earned it! He'll be a great racer!

  • I'm a JJ fan, but me and my brother and a friend (who really doesn't even like NASCAR) were jumping up and down and yelling at the TV when he won. Good stuff.

  • He will one day be a chapion in our sport...

  • this was the biggest upset in nascar history

  • @THESOLID13 I wouldn't say it's the biggest upset, but it is pretty darn close. I believe no one predicted Trevor Bayne as the winner.

  • @SlicedSmoke14 Let's not forget Kevin Harvick's win at Atlanta in his 3rd career race? I think Trevor's win is the 2nd biggest upset, but I am not sure.

  • @SlicedSmoke14 i predicted trevor the whole day, i felt he had it all week, he was dominate

  • @SlicedSmoke14 One of the guys on speed's pre race show picked Trevor but other than that, this was a major upset. Kurt Busch helped him by taking out Bowyer and Newman of course let's not forget that

  • @THESOLID13 your dumb as fuck, IT was a happy moment. Of cource i would have preferd junior won, but hell give the kid some gratitude

  • @THESOLID13 The biggest upset would be considered the death of Dale Sr.

  • congrats bayne for becoming the youngest daytona winner i always been a roush fan but seeing wood brothers winning the daytona 500 it brings me joy hopefully bayne get a full sponsor this year then just maybe he can take down the number 48 of jimmy johnson nascar needs a nice person

  • If this isn't the biggest upset in NASCAR history, it's pretty damn close. How many times does a 20 year-old kid go out in only his 2nd Sprint Cup start and win, in the Daytona 500 no less?

  • Awesome Race. Great Job Trevor And Hats Off To The Wood Brother's! xD I Bet That Was Trevor's Best Birthday Present. =D

  • He's has been so polite throughout the race.

    Example:

He called Jamie Little ma'am in qualifying until she got tired of it.

He dropped back late in the race to find Jeff Gordon.

When Edwards asked Trevor if he wanted to bump draft, he said he was sorry because he was drafting Kyle Busch.

He wondered what happened to David Ragan.

  • @gobackto82 lol he is man.

  • Hope They Make a 1: 64 Diecast of his car .

  • "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" lol congrats to Trevor Bayne and the Wood Brothers. Good to see a ford car in victory lane for once!

  • this kid deserves it, he raced his ass off

  • i was rooting for Bobby, like i have for so long. But it's good to see a little bit of life in his career. And Good for Bayne!

  • David Gilliland, Dave Blaney, Paul Menard, and Bobby Labonte did a lot better than i thought they would. And of course Trevor Bayne, Regan Smith, and David Ragan too

  • notice how he made a 3 in the grass after his burnout great class!

  • Nice Job Gilliand!!!!!!!!!

  • go FORDs i bet nascar will make em drop this new engine

  • this might be the first nascar driver that has no rivals and all the fans love him, he is a very humble driver

  • btw, I'm glad FOX did this finish. The ESPN announcers would had completely screwed up the magical moment.

  • cinderalla story came true trevor bayne wins the daytona 500

  • @aprilvergogna F1 might not even start their first race (thank to anti-government protests)

  • "Cindirella Bayne"

  • i bet Michael Waltrip feels pretty stupid for firing him

  • @DsturbedFan728: I LOVE Mikey, but trust me, he must be KICKING himself, KID'S AWESOME!!!

  • @DsturbedFan728 Michael Waltrip is stupid for so many reasons.

  • Just awesome

  • Some facts:

    - Last time a driver won a race on their second Cup start was Jamie McMurray in 2002.

    - Last time a driver won on their first attempt at the Daytona 500 was Lee Petty (was the first running of the race)

    - Trevor Bayne becomes the youngest Daytona 500 winner (20 years, 1 day)

  • @SlicedSmoke14 correct me if i'm wrong but is this the 1st race ever there was no green flag pit stops?

  • @SlicedSmoke14

    - Last cup race when the Wood Brothers got a win was 2001 Food City 500 with Elliott Sadler

  • @SlicedSmoke14 - Woodbrothers first win in 10 years

  • @SlicedSmoke14 Technically, I don't think Lee Petty winning on his 50 debut would count 'cause it's the 1st running, so Trevor becomes the first driver to win in his 1st career Daytona 500 start.

  • this was a good day for everyone, fans and drivers (most of them at least). record breaking in 3 catagories (cautions, lead changes, and another catagory), 10 yrs and 2 days since dale's death, ford was the top 3, 2 guys who were basically unknown in the top 5, a fmr. champion in 4th, a guy who won 2 races during speedweeks: so it was basically exciting for all fans

  • "The glass slipper fit"

  • YEAH!!! TREVOR DID IT!!! I'M PLEASANTLY SHOCKED!!!

  • TREVOR BANYE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is one of the best moments in the past 5 years for Nascar. Its great that a good person like Bayne set a record that I don't think anyone could ever beat. Only 20 years and 1 day old and a Daytona 500 winner, congrats to him.

  • @KuutenV3 And in his 2nd Cup start ever!
