FIREDRILL is right on . Talk about calm organization ;impressive. The only thing missing in the video is a hug and a kiss . been in that situation before , i liked the way you left the rod in the big jon with the fish on im always afraid of leaving the pole unmanned .What a team!!!!
Have had to ghostride a few fish a few times over that last years with doubles on and I have no doubt they will be ok in those rod holders. Just make sure to reel up all the slack in the line before you put it in there, hopefully the fish will fight just enough while your gone to keep a nice bend in the rod. Keep an eye on it and if it comes up close to straight you gotta crank down a few times again. That was a fun mess to be in, with 3 jumbos to show for it. F/Fly on all 3 fish.
@YeeMafia...You can icefish up river or a few spots in the marina but you gotta be careful in the marina so places will not ice over most years. Stay tight to the docks if you would try it. The river will be iced up solid enough for 4 wheeler and snowmobiles in a month or so.
@doanefive.....Thanks, if this doesnt make you want to give it a try nothing will.
We got out late with 1.5 hours to fish. Missed a screamer on a board right away, then laned the 3 in the video in 15 minutes or so. One dinker to end the night and that was it. One flurry was good for 45 lbs of fish, a mess, and some great memories. I still give her hell for the "oh crap" when the 3rd rod went off. Fish number one was still in the net and tboning the boat in half. Good times.
