  • One of the greatest 5 minute rants in all of entertainment! Full of inconsistencies and exaggerated bombast! A tour de force! Those days also produced "Where's Poppa?" With George Segal, Ruth Gordon.

  • Brilliant. Lou Jacobi is the best.

  • A pleasure anytime I hear someone understanding and appreciating the type of humor in Little Murders. The movie is sure a tickler isn't it !

  • Absolutely, You have to be a proper movie buff & probably a certain age to appreciate the zany Jewish black humor of the early seventies. That was a great time for daring provocative movies that took chances & weren't made just for a quick profit like today's crap. Just watched this movie again last night on dvd along with my old vhs copy of Diary Of A Mad Housewife, never get tired of these masterpieces.

  • God bless Lou Jacobi. RIP.

  • This scene and the wedding ceremony are the best stand-up routines ever created. Jules Feiffer (the writer)'s work is timeless!

  • Probably the best, zaniest of the jewish black comedies of the early seventies. If you like this one you'll also like The heartbreak kid, Last of the red hot lovers, Catch 22, Made for each other, Diary of a mad housewife & I love my wife. All these movies were released within 1 year of each other & nowadays there is nothing that can compete with this level of Comedy. Incidentally 4 of the stars from this movie appeared in episodes of All in the family.

  • Lol, Lou's voice was an inspiration for Dr. Zoidberg in Futurama. I can definitely hear it.

  • hahaha i just read that and i looked this guy up

  • I saw this in theater back in the 70s. I didn't understand it then and I still don't understand it today. What do you see in this swill?

  • I guess I am a bit confused. You saw this back in the 1970's when you were a toddler? I can imagine it made no sense back then.

I suppose there is a lot of sarcasm in Feiffer's writing, and it is not everyone's taste. For me, I think I may have had some relatives who were like this judge character, seems very familiar to me. I am sure I heard similar rants from said relatives at family gatherings. Oh well.

  • "Swill" ? ! ! ! No wonder you can't understand it ! Your elevator doesn't stop on all floors.

  • what a nimrod

  • alan arkin's best

  • I love this movie! Brilliant

  • One of the 5 *great* soliloquies from Little Murders! INCREDIBLE!
