i think you can go into display settings and when it is on battery power only you can make the brightness even brighter.

Thnx for your fast reaction! I've been to some stores, but they didn't have anything I liked (a lot of acer/packer bell..)

I'm now thinking of buying the Samsung N510 or the N140.

In my experience eventhough the glossy screen of the lg x130 isnt that good for outdoor usage it has a brighter background lighting than this samsung n140.

But my best adivice is just to go to your local electronic store and fire up the Brightness on all the netbooks they have and take the one with the highest rates.

In terms of 2gb upgrade, each one is able to handle that. Batterylife wise you should consider the toshiba nb200, lg x130, asus 1005ha-m and samsung n140.

I'm in the market for a netbook, but there is so mutch choise! I Like the non-glossy screen. What is your experience with netbooks? Is this the one to buy?

I want one that can be upgraded to 2GB of RAM. Going to use it a lot outdoors, in the train on school. And I would like to watch some good quality videos on it.

Whats your experience & advice?
