  • hmm heres a good idea lets give him a good smack after I get the wrong distance! that'll teach him! good pony he had excellent form over the fences.

  • 0:30 = Bad horsemanship.

  • Its funny because you are all freaking out at them using a stick, the horse should have jumped it but you were a bit forward. Dont worry im sure that when your horses get kicked in the pature everyday it doesnt affect them so the smack with the crop isnt going to hurt it. that horse had a perfect chance to clear that fence but refused so a smack with the crop is good. The horse seemed fine after so its all good

  • Fucking hell calm down with the stick I saw at least two huge wacks hence why he then bucked, a tap could have done it to remind him not wacking shit out of him. Besides I don't think the refuse was the horse's fault!

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore gezz? lool :L

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore it's just my opinion. I don't think it's right and by the looks of other comments on here there are a lot of others who feel the same way! leave it there.

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore "mate", whatever you want to call it I don't mind :L but whatever it is, it's not fair on the horse.

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore yeh they did, pause at 0:30 - you don't call that hitting? never mind:L

  • @LetsFlyOnceMore um yeah, watch it again, he definatly did hit him like a minute after the horse refused.... and idk why i put that he fell, i meant fault about the refusal.

  • um, kinda your fault you fell. got way to ahead of him. you confused him by hitting him, and if you were to hit him, it should have been like right away, horses forget what they did wrong 2 seconds after they do it.

  • love the sound effects, your rideings not so great tho....

  • You're a shit rider.

It was YOUR fault he did that, not his.

  • I hate riders like this...ones that beat the crap out of their horse, it's 99/9% the riders fault.

  • I know this video is old, but if you're going to smack him at all then don't do it 10 seconds later once youve turned away from the jump.

  • yeah, i'm sorry for what all you people think, but she wasn't riding terribly, the horse got an off stride and stopped. she smacked it to let it know that it needs to remember where it's feet are and refusing isn't an acceptable way to deal with a bad distance. i do the same thing with my horse, and guess what? it works!! i'll also guess this rider is a JUMPER!! she is supposed to go fast, hunt-riders. the only thing i could possibly critisize is that maybe her position is a little loose.

  • @rizoluvr exactly. and you can clearly see the horse was acting up afterwards. he wanted the horse to smarten up and listen.

  • ummm dudde , what was that? did u hit your horse hard enough for YOUR mistake? if i were u i would take lessons and go to a wayyyyy lower class!

  • yeah please remind me how this is the poor poor pony's fault?? oh right.....it wasn't.

come on! please....that is what people call A-B-U-S-E! i know that everyone has different riding and training styles but seriously? u? there is no skill, no training, no whatever in what u just showed me!

ooo wow impressive....u can just hights tht u rly aren't ready for. ooo im rly impressed now Your horse took you around the majority of the jumps and u repay him but wat? smaking him?

    well aren't we a hero?

  • Umm, no offence or anything, but you are kind of a bad rider, I mean, you clearly aren't ready for the size of those jumps.. and you don't have very good control of your horse. Consider taking lessons, or training, or something ! I am suprised your horse didn't dump you, you're lucky. Also, try not to go at the jumps at a 100 mph ! you were going way too fast.

  • wow were the fuck did you learn to ride?!you suck ass first of all second of all tht poor horse im surprised he didnt flick your white ass off his back and then trample you to death. and 3rd of all learn how to handle a horse properly you fucking dumbass!!

  • Idiot no wonder your pony goes so fast he is soo scared he is going to be whiped go take some lessons on what a horse feels

  • Right... riding a hore like that will firstly - Make him scared of jumping and secondly - Make him scared of you.. learn to properly handle him please before he really does hate you then bucks you off and tramples you,,.... i would laugh if he never jumped again because you galloped him up to that jump and then smacked him when you got his striding wrong, yes.. you did it, without riders, horses would always get their striding right

  • ok, i can understand that you may be pissed that your horse made u look bad...but don't smack it. it was not his fault. you should have circled, slowed down, collected, organized and then jumped.

who cares if its a show. it would have been better than that!

  • that is the most horribe riding i have EVER seen in my life!

first of all you do not go racing up to the jump at 100 miles per hour and expect the poor thing to get over it every time!

second you know the only reason you hit the horse is because your embarrased the horse stopped, where as you should be embarrased of your riding and the fact you took it out on that magnificiant animal because you obviouslt can not ride!!!

it makes me sick that you could even be let on a horse!!

  • Agreed :D x

  • god why did you hit him? its always all the time the riders fault!! you got way to far ahead!! wth did you hit the poor horse, you just confused him! my gosh!

  • yea dont hit him 10 mins after he stops and dont race around like a friggin maniac i mean come on pace control, hellooo???your not in the kentucky derby. youve got a good horse that i frankly dont think you deserve. horrible position ur curved in the opposite way tht u wanna b curved

  • wow did you hit your horse hard enough???! It isalways at least 99.5% the riders fault!!! the other .5% is when your horse/pony is just having an off day.

  • remind me how this was the pony's fault? oh. right, It wasn't.

  • why would you hit the pony you dumbass?! you'll just get him more scared of the jump. learn how to properly handle a horse!!!

  • what the fuck where you doing learn how to ride a damn horse

  • Ok I can see this rider go way to far ahead so the pony lost its footing. When you creep up a ponys neck all you can expect is what happened above. =) Cute pony!

  • its the rider's friken fault there rushing him around the course

  • idiot shouldnt have hit the horse after it was the RIDERS FAULT!!!

  • what an asshole! that poor horse. the girl was creeping higher and higher up the horses necka snd so if i were the hrse i would have lost balance and stopped too. pOOR HORSE

  • If I was the horse I would have stopped too. The rider was crawling up his horse's neck. What an asshole for smacking him after too, when it was the RIDER'S FAULT clearly, not the horses.

  • I totaly agree with that... what an ass... poor horsey... -.-

  • wow he got a little mad at his horse. even though these animals go out and try there hardest for us all the time -_-

  • pony was goin a lil fast

  • its jumpers... u kinda hav to

  • Very good riding! It seemed a little fast, but the pony was steady and it looked good. Way to stay on!

  • great stop!

  • haha loved the crying baby :P what a gorgeous showjumper! i think i will stick to grade 5 lol how high are the jumps?

  • LOL music so goes witht he vid hahaha fab horse

  • May i please use this video clip in my new horse falls and mishaps video? You will be credited for your video :D Thanks Belle

  • wow, what a gorgeous jumper.

    [:

  • I love the crying baby lol

  • Wow thats a nice horse! anyway, just cause he smacked the horse doesnt mean he abused it and is being cruel, he simply punishing bad behavour and teaching the horse to be obediant. its not like the horse was scared, it didnt want to jump, maybe try to kick it too, instead of such a harsh whipping...

  • that pony can jumpppp! well, except that oxer=] hehe

  • verry nice riding up intill that point...never trust a pony! lol!

  • Hello, I'm one of the last rider of Duty Free when he was in France. And I'm very happy to see him in youtube ! He didn't change ! So good and so clever and so facetious when he was "scared" about something. Can I have some news of him pleaaase ?! Where is he now ? Always in Italy ? I miss him so much... If you can contact me, it will be a pleasure.

  • Hallo!

Duty is still in arena everyday! it's really a great Pony. The character is still the same, in Arezzo he went in the arena, watch around and decided that the landscape wasn't good enough for him so he refuse to enter and ride. He won many events with Alby and now compete with Marta in Veneto region around Venice

he was a great teacher for Alby and now he is doing the same with Marta.

give me your mail and I'll send you some pics.

I'll forward your msg to Marta the present rider .

  • I sent you a message on your youtube email. With my email.

  • Im not saying the rider did anything wrong before the refusal, but that horse is just not as experienced physically and mentally. And that it gets beat afterward is therefore not necessary, because he doesn't understand the purpose. He just had to ga a little bit slower, maybe that's one way it would've worked.

  • love the sound effects can i use the vid in my horse falls vid please

  • NO !

  • ok sorry didnt mean to upset you

  • though the smacking with the crop was truly unnecessary- i don't think thats true.

  • lol great video, the sound effects were awesome, good job riding too!

  • Great riding all the way through. The use of stick was very much appropriate.

  • No i would not do that it is a video of the bad and good of horse riding and thank you.

  • Can i use this video.

  • not for the bloody medley of videos with people crashing, hurting and making disaster.

    please send me the link

    rgds

  • Great job making him face his fear and keeping your seat, nice work!

  • This video is NICE! And p.s. I LOVE the sound effects and music! Haha! :) Nice job!

  • Beautiful riding, though the smacking with the crop was truly unnecessary. I know that you know your horse better than I do, but I think he didn't crash though it to be difficult. It seems as though his attention was beyond the fence itself and he was suddenly like, "Oh, yeah--fence."

I'm probably wrong, but that's what it seemed to me. If it is indeed the case, you could try closing your leg around him about four strides away so he has a few seconds to gather himself before flying.

  • LOL!!! Nice music too. That was awsome. ive landed on the neck like that before LOTS. lol nice one.

  • Thank god he kept his head up when u crashed or u would have fallen..nice job

  • whoa that horse has a cracking jump. It flies over them. Hope u were ok

  • holy cow!

  • SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY, great seat! I cannot believe that you stayed on! OMG!

  • u did a gr8 job sittin that in! omg i wouldve totally fallen off!!! XD looked like fun up until the point where the horse stopped! but u did a really gr8 job wit dat!!! many success in the future!

    greets from canada

  • That just goes to show you not to jump ahead :). If he would of that would have been deadly. And a crop doesn't hurt the horse it's mainly the noise that were after lol.

  • it wasn't the horses fault though. If only it had been more collected then it would've gotten its striding right. but those are REALLY high jumps much higher than I could EVER jump! nice round though

  • small horse, big jumps, good jumper

  • Omygod

leer rijden en ga niet slaan :L

    levensloze hoer

  • I agree with you belle441! why would you hit a horse with the whip! that jump was high and it isn't always easy for a horse to jump it

  • omg why are some ppl soo concerned with animal cruelty by using a whip. its not like that horse is a bag of bones and he looks pretty happy while he was jumping. please say how using somthing that was designed to hit a horse is being cruel????

  • it can be cruel if used unnessisarily or wrongly, but it was designed to either tap or smack the horse on the rump whenever it is appropriat. It isn't justn a little decoration so yeah I agree with you here.

  • why dont u try getting hit by a whip anyways u fuck, as if youd know if the horse is happy do u know what a fuck horse smile is do ya

  • it dosnt have to smile to be happy dickbrain.

if hes going around jumping and not bucking hes obviously not pissed off, do you think he would keep jumping if he was angry. oh yeah can u learn how to speak properely it looks like a monkey wrote that comment. your name should be monkey441.haha

  • sorry im not sure wether your accusing me of being pathetic or perfect, learn to spell you stupid monkey. by your girlfriend you probabley mean your boyfriend.

  • your a fucking idiot

  • me or belle441

  • Belle441, your okay :)

  • yeah bloodyoathmate has a good point

  • bloodyoathmate11 i agree with you. bele441 should be beat in the head a few times with a crop XD

  • thanks

  • yes

  • lol I need to stop commenting... I'm commetn people who posted over 9 months ago... lol I'm a lamo

  • HAHA!

I've done the same thing, too!

    :P

  • i not sayin i agree wiv dis but if u gu to shows n dat at a lot of the refusals u see a lot of owners duin the same fing plz dont get nasty wiv me 4 makin dis comment coz i was just makin a point if anyfin i agree wiv LiveToRideAndRideToLive

  • Things I don't know? Whatever, I know the person didn't have to go to the whip.

  • Ahh, but then he would have gon to the spurs. It is not cruelty I have had the exact same experiance and this rider was also not catching the horse in the mouth at all. He just wasn't aggressive enough about a horse that was going to test dominance or bravery.

  • Why would you punish your horse by immediatley smacking him with your whip when it was obviously your fault? You clearly didnt wait toherwise you wouldnt have landed on his neck.

  • it wasn't his fault. stop giving people lectures on things you dont even know about.

  • it wasn't whose fault? I've been riding since i was 5 so yeah, i do know what i am talking about.

  • Oh wow, I've been riding since before I could walk. 5... real immpressive...(im chronology07; I'm on my friends account)

  • how was it the riders fault she never rejected the fence but hey acidents happen dont they.. nd if ya dont no about horses dont start now duck!

  • how was it the riders fault she never rejected the fence but hey acidents happen dont they.. nd if ya dont no about horses dont start now duck!

  • It was not rider error this time, except for the fact that he wasn't AGGRESSIVE enough about the fence. Over new XC fences I HAVE to KICK and kiss at my horse, sometimes going to the crop because otherwise he WILL refuse. He always does to test me. It's a horses way of saying "Do I have to???"

  • your a jackass your horse made a mistake, most likely by your RIDING SKILLS, which is extremly close to 0, there is NO NEED to whip your horse

  • how do you know.

if you dont like it then dont watch it

  • who said i dont like it? I watch horse fall videos, but i didn't know he was going to whip he horse or else I wouldn't have watched it stupid ass

  • umm, you whip the horse or kick if he is going to refuse out of stuborniss. If you don't the horse begins to think that they are dominant. It isn't cruelty if you're careful. I have had this exact same experiance.

  • umm, no, he got the wrong striding into the fence. Don't talk about shit you don't know

  • hey you and I are the same!! I began riding from age five!! And I am being trained by a Rolex Rider so I do infact know what it is I am looking at. I could not find your other name on the channel search, please post a link.

  • The only rider fault was that he wasn't aggressive enough about the fence. I actually jump and 3-Day Event so I know what ois going on.

  • maybe if u collect d stride more and stop gallopin like its d grand national and sat and waited and looked 4 a stride to d fence?

  • HAHAHAHAHA LOL THAT WAS FUNNY GD SOUND EFFECTS BTW PPL NOT CAUSING TROUBLE BUT SOME PPL (INC ME) SMAK THERE HORSES TO DICAPLINE THEM SOME NAUGHT PONIES (HORSES) THINK WHEN THEY REFUSE THEY CAN DO IT AGAIN AGAIN AND AGAIN LIKE MINE AND MY FRIENDS PONY. soz 4 writeing in caps btw they were on lol :D BTW I AGREE WITH MAD ABOUT RIDING ABOLUTELEY TRUE.

  • I'm with the other, why did you use your whip? No need for that.

  • omg, unlucky , the horse shudnt of stopped really but there was no need to whip him. whips are not used for punishment but used when the horse doesnt listen to your leg.

otherwise nice horse and nice riding. ! x

can i use this in my horse video plz?

  • lol it was pretty much a mere tap. I have done more aggressive whips on my horse to the point of welts because he refused once and I just circled him and he did it again. THat means he decided "Okay, I'm boss now... I like this we're NOT going to jump. Just try to make me. This dude was completely correct by tapping his horse over this fence.

  • Nicely handled.....NOT! Why did you go to your whip? You think that made him learn? Probably not. Now hes just gonna be scared. Poor thing. Learn more about Natural horsemanship! Then maybe your horse would be more willing.

  • stop giving people lectures on things you dont know

  • Actually it did. THe horse learned that the rider was still boss and then proceded to willingly jump

  • got the wrong striding to the fence...

  • Why did you smack him?

the horse was probably scared, smacking him would have made it worse. I wouldn't smack a friend if they didn't do what i wanted them to, would you?

  • The horse was testing him and that "smacking" as you put it was actually just tapping.

  • well he just didnt want to go over it but glad he eventally got him ova it

  • looks like your horse loves to jump but there was no stide and in looking after himself he had to stop! most horses given that as a take off point would have stopped at that!

  • anyway, i cant even see the rider use her leg after the refusal to get the horse forward. so maybe she should use her legs before going to the whip

  • jumping doesn't equal speed. you need IMPULSION to get over a jump. most horses crash through the jump cause theres no impulsion to get OVER it. you could jump going as slow as you can but still be able to get over it if you have the right impulsion

  • The whip wasn't used for the refusal to jump, it was for the horse refusing to move forward when leg was applied. Pretty large jump for the pony... Jumpers = speed.

  • speed and impulsion/willingness same for eventing, but forget the pretty stuff get down and dirty!! lol sry I just love eventing.

  • i like eventing too i hate it how ppl say its cruel to whack a horse but how will it know what its done wrong.

lol most of the comments r from u.hahahahaha

  • The rider wanted to take off early... One of those in-between distances - tough for the horse to take off long to a respectable, only slightly ascending oxer. Unless the rider can be "blameless" with helping the horse find a perfect distance - not looking prudent to appear to blame the horse.

  • you shouldn't deal with a horse by whiping him you should have circled around and given leg encouragement... and i know that you get all these bad comments...but the next time your horse refuses you should really gconsider giving your horse another chance to prove himself that he can do it. if he doesn't then you shouldn't be jumping at such a height.. if your horse will refuse. if you hit your horse it will just make him more nervous... of you.

  • lol sry but give the horse a chance to prove himself?? THe horse is trying to prove himself DOMINANT. If he doesn't have to go over it when the rider asks, the rider is no longer dominant which is EXTREMELY dangerous!! Because as soon as that horse knows his power over you, you will have at least 1lbs of muscle and force shoving you around just to prove his dominance. Many people have died or been close to because of that. This needs to be IMMEDEATLY corrected.

  • wow guys she had to go fast it was a jumpers round.

  • omg and you really whip that horse after that? Thats just stupid!

  • I agree that was so stupid, that animal crueltly dont whip the horse.

i feel sorry for your horses.

  • are you shittin' me? there's nothing that child could do to hurt that horse.

  • yeah, and I'll feel sorry for the dead rider when she/he is no longer dominant. IT is not animal cruelty, animal cruelty is when you intentionaly hurt your horse rahter than just remind him, when you make him bleed, or break his mind into crazed fear. I have seen this cruelty before.

  • you don whip a horse when they refuse a fence or crash into one dont you think they are already scared enough!

  • it's his job and he likes to do it!

  • hmm that or they are just being an arse

  • THe horse is not scared but merely testing if it is now the dominant one or if it HAS to go over.

  • haha the music was so funny

  • u dnt need to gallop about so much you needed to check before and help him and calm him down he was scared thanks to you slow down a bit

  • the horse was not scared but you do need to give them a ding ding ding fence coming which you do by closing the reins a bit and/or adding more leg. Just to make sure that they are aware of the fence infront of them. I f the horse is scared, he would not have gotten to that level in the first place.

  • That horse didnt need to be whipped so hard.

    The stride was wrong...

  • the horse was tapped with the whip. A horse would take the fence anyways whether it be long, short, or he lands on it (ive done all three!! not fun!!) unless he is very stuborn and unwilling to try. many horses, such as mine, will also throw in a partial stride to correct themselves although the rider may then be off balance.

  • oh ye and that lookd like ur jumpoff go slow and keep ur terns tight its alot more fun and ur time is alot better

  • the only reson ur horse crashed is bcuz u was way way WAYYYY to fast seriosly go at a nice bouncy pace and he will jump smoother and he wont crash like that i will say tho i did ust to be like that and when i saw a girl fall of a get rishd into hosbital u lern u dont need 2 b fast so just slow and bouncy u will find it mutch better and easyer

  • it's jumpers most likely dumbass.

  • seriously you dont have to whip him, use your leg and push the horse on! obviosuly she needs smacked upside her head if she thinks she can whip a horse like that.

  • You could tell the horse wasn't going over it from the corner where he swapped off.

  • I don't think whipping him was necessary. It wasn't a dirty stop, just bad communication and timing.

  • she prob was speedy cuz IT WAS JUMPERS! hello your suppose to go fast!!! idiots! and that pony is a little on the small side so he need to go fast to get over the jumps well. and what are you supposed to do when your horse stops pet him and say he's good boy? no you need to smack him and tell him not to do that again! good save you are a good rider and your pony is cute!

  • ohhooo! finaly we found somebody that can ride ponies!

peaople ready carfully and learn !!!1

  • i agree! if he doesnt get a smack then he will try it time and time again!

  • you should have slowed down

and not like whipped him because he refused just steady him when your going round

  • Whipping a horse 10 seconds after the horse refused, isn't going to do anything. Horses need to be repremanded as soon as they do something wrong. If you do it 5 seconds after, the horse has already forgotten what he has done, and honestly has no idea why he's being whipped. It's just the way a horse's mind works.

So your horse thought he was getting whipped for no reason at all. Hence the buck.

  • It didnt look like much of a buck,

    but a kick out.

    And..

    totally agree with youu.

  • I totally agree, except that he turned the horse hard and sharp right away then proceeded to use the crop, so the horse did know what it was for. If he just let the horse stand then whip, he would have been an idiot.

  • WHAT A SAVE!@ and to everyone else, the horse refused a jump - DUH, he's going to get some correction! I am guessing you haven't ridden a horse before!

  • When you correct a hrose, you dont turn the hrose away and THEN jump it.

You smack him untill he goes over..

No matter how bad the jump is or how

    many faults are given..

  • so true, otherwise the horse becomes dominant

  • i agree with h3v3n3 and theloser1456 you shouldnt have whipped him, you are suposed to use the whip to back up your leg and re-inforce your aid, not to tell them off!! x

  • the rider was using the whip to back up its leg. you can see that on the approach the rider was using her leg but when the horse stopped the rider had no option but to use its crop to tell it to listen to its leg aids.

  • She whipped him because he refused.. and its not acceptable.

  • You use it when they refuse so he horse knows who is dominante, that is a very important time to use it.

  • Wait..but one question...why the hell did you whip him?

  • Gah! Some of you people are so stupid. Bad things happen and this was one of those bad things. Atleast the rider had the courage to circle and calm his horse and then finish the course!

  • and at 30 seconds.. you shouldn't of whipped him! That's why he bucked!

  • ummm.. you were very speedy, and just flying over the jumps.. good job staying on at the crash.. but please have more control of your horse! and slow down!
