Based on Grandfather Paradox: If Dr. Mallet gets to build a time machine and travels into the past to save his father, that would mean he would eliminate inspiration that drove young himself to build a time machine in the future, therefore eliminating a time machine and therefore being unable to use the time machine to save his father which would mean that his father would die in the past which would inspire him to build a time machine in the future.

LOL...yeah go back and assassinate Hitler. What an example to bring up. Hateful and hateable guy for sure, but a time traveler would have to deal with the time line would change...and have no idea if the change was for the better or worse....AND they would have to commit murder. Not no theoretical murder, but have to walk up to the guy and MURDER Hitler. Probably wouldn't survive the attempt. I just think it is a weird example for the show narrator to bring up.

Lets think about it: if time travel was real, we could travel to a place with completely NO global warming. And in another 5 billion years, the sun would have transformed to a red giant and turned into a white dwarf. Time travel may allow us to escape these disasters, where we will dominate.

@coolasacoldsummer What about this is pseudo science? Mathematically it's quite possible what he is working on. He's not talking about sending a human being back in time simply subatomic particles and they can only go back to the point at which the machine is flipped on. Do some homework on Dr. Mallett don't just take this video and it's absurd claims at face value.

how could you just go back in time or go forward? and what would happen if you changed something like assasinating hitler, how would it effect everyone at once? would it just effect you? or let's say you go back in time and leave you're sibling in the present at the stop where you traveled in time, and as you go back in time you kill your sibling, what happens to you're sibling that's standing there in the present, does he just go poof and be gone, or is he in another dimension? @trip4201 an other reason is because time travel device is not yet discovered and if someone could travel before the date it will be discovered, he can bring the plans with him, because of this paradox we can be sure that time travel requires two devices one emitter one receptor, you need both to travel it should work like teleportation, until we can do teleportation we can't time travel

So if you travel back and go Kill your other, Perhaps your mother in the Universe you headed into [Universe B] was dead =) But your mother might still might have been alive in the Universe that we live in [Universe A]

Based on Grandfather Paradox: If Dr. Mallet gets to build a time machine and travels into the past to save his father, that would mean he would eliminate inspiration that drove young himself to build a time machine in the future, therefore eliminating a time machine and therefore being unable to use the time machine to save his father which would mean that his father would die in the past which would inspire him to build a time machine in the future.
