  • there is more than operational steam locos in the u.s.

sp4449, milw261, up844, up3985, Grand canyon railway operates 3 steamers regularly, Boone and scenic valley has a chinese steamer. and so many more!

  • i know and gran canyon dont operat 3 steamers any more but there is only 2 santa fe steam this one and 3751

  • I know that there is only 2 santa fe operational steamers one in cali and the other in ks. I know Grand canyon traded 1 of their 2-8-0's for 2 more and both are in the shop being converted to burn diesel and bring them up to fra codes. they done that in late last year.

  • actually the texas state railroad operates ex ATSF 4-6-2 #1316, it is now operated as texas state railroad #500.

  • @dalejrfan303 ATSF 2926 will be running by 2012. :) Not to steal your thunder, though, I love this locomotive, there was the 3417 in Cleburne, TX that was going to be restored and they didn't pull it off so I'm happy to see someone did with the same class of locomotive.

  • @dalejrfan303 they still run the steam engines

  • @inels100 Yes she still runs
