It is clear that this was intended as a comedy however the character that was presented as a christian was a Mormon.
The Mormons or church of latter day saints as they call themselves have a distorted view of scripture. They do not represent Christianity but rather they have taken scripture and distorted it to suit their religion.
Christianity is not a religion, it is a personal relationship between man and GOD made possible by Jesus's perfect life, atoning and victorious resurrection.
