  • I show Morgan's, and the Arabian hunter pleasure is a little different then the Morgan hunter! To know what I mean just look up Morgan hunters!

  • @sos2236 I love the Morgan as well, but yes they are a little different.

  • @sos2236 My Horse is a Morgan Hunter!

  • @sos2236 Love the Morgan too!

  • That doesn't look very pleasurable, especially the way the riders are sitting forward...

  • I don't understand why people have this preconcieved idea that Arabians are so high strung and spirited. I own a 5 year old purebred arabian mare, and she's the hugest thing ever, with the quietest mindset in the world. This class videoed here is by far the most amazing class i've seen so far on youtube for arabian hunter pleasure. Thanks for the video Prowinda!

  • I really want to do this.

  • the whole point of a hunter class is that the horse look pleasurable and easy to ride and that it take care of its rider. None of these horses looks easy or pleasurable to ride, it looks like the riders have to keep half-halting every stride (which, as they're arabs, they probably do) to keep them from running off.

  • @dramastr22

Arab hunter is a bit different than your regular Hunter/Jumper. The horses are soposed to have a more forward motion, and they are not "running off". Believe me, they are extremely pleasurable to ride, but the horse is judged on a few different things than other breeds are. :)

  • ok so i do morgans and this is like almost exactly what i do. except the western. the reins are way looser but i loveeeeeee their headsets. anyway you guys look awesome!!! oh and do you guys usually do pure bred arabians and half-arabians? Cause Morgan people just do pure breds. oh and 1 more question what do you look for to win the class? we look for 1. if they have the horses head collected. 2. if the riders postier is nice and 3. if the horse behaves. please reply!!!

  • This is why I love arab shows. The horses actually go someplace. This year I will be showing saddle seat a local shows with my half arab against mostly quarter horse hunters. I guess it will depend on the judge on how we place, but at least my horse moves out compared to some of the competition.

  • YAY practical hunters! You could actually hunt with these guys.

  • Sorry for the misspelling im trying to reply before the computer dies.

  • Actually my horse does move just like those horses and she is a registered arabian with supposeably a impeckable pedigree. Hint hint that is why I said I would love to show in a few years. That way I can afford it and she would be all trained up. I want to be able to show off what I've done with her.

  • Damn that horse at 5 min was leggy. Very nice horses.

  • So when someone shows in english classes does it matter what color jacket and breeches you wear? Can horses wear leg boots in shows?

  • most people wear a shade of tan breeches coats are commonly brown, black, green, navy, grey, and sometimes tan. Also no your horse can't wear leg boots unless its gymkhana or a performance class

  • Where is this show located. I hope that in the next few years I well be able to show my arab. I wish that her tail would get as long as alot of these horses. Does your horse have to be registered to enter. I am jealous I want to show.

  • yes your horse has to be registered to show at Nationals and other rated shows, but you can go to local arabian shows and registration doesnt matter.

And these horses have their tails up 24/7 except to be washed and for shows. I have to do it with my arab its a pain lol

  • well your horse does have to be reg. but not every arab can do this! does your horse look like this in the ring? and do you and your horse been to enough shows and have the confidence to do this!? cause this is Nationals!

  • *jump

  • See, this is what real hunter under saddle looks like! These horses actually look like they could be on a hunt. Unlike the stock breeds. Their Hunter under saddle looks like they just put english tack on the western horses. If they showed up on a real hunt, they would be laughed at. How is your horse supposed to jumo when its nose is nearly touching the ground?

  • I know this is very random but the horse at 2:37 has the same bit as my hunter horse.....or atleast it looks like a twisted snaffle

  • Arabian HUS looks so much different then QH/Stock breed HUS. Is really neat that they actually ask for extensions of each gait unlike the QH that is judged (most of the time) at the same medium speed. The only thing I don't like is Arabians don't have that "floating on air" trot like the QH HUS horses do.

  • I'm in here! I was the Reserve Champion this year! :) How fun to see it here!

  • Cool Im glad you found the class! Thanks 4 watching....

  • Now we know your real name... lol!

  • @appalapaloozas This was such an awesome class

  • if my instructors horse where registered we could go in these types of shows and I know we would do well!

  • and my last lesson riding, my trainer said i looked like i was one of these people in a show!!! i love my life!

  • omg. i ride Hunter Pleasure. almost 4 years now. ive only gone in 1 in-state super small, beginner show 2 years ago. and not to long ago, my trainers wanted me to go the the Fall Classic! thats another huge show! but not as big as Youth Nationals. Im trying to keep my record and not go in anymore small shows! :D

  • Wow. That is so different from the Paint horse Hunter Under... so is the name of the class!

So is the Arab western pleasure, I think the pleasure classes are wayyyy prettier than our mechanical paints :x

  • That's because they aren't real hunters XD

It's just the name of the class.

  • yeah, i rode a western pleasure horse once, he was so smooth you could drink a glass of water on him and not spill a drop..... but he wasnt an arabian i think he was a quarter horse

  • Omg they were all just rock solid perfect in pretty much everything. Wow...

  • What a lovely class!

Just curious - are some of the Arabians with the REALLY long tails have fake tails on or do they just let them grow long like that? I know in the Saddlebred classes they seem to have those really long tails that I've always assumed to be fake, but I haven't seen for myself if I am wrong or not! :D

  • The Arabians are known for their long flowing manes and tails. In the show circuit (Arabian) they do not allow fake tails. I love the long tail but some times especially in reining its important to keep them trimmed for the safety of the rider and horse. Most show horses tails are kept wrapped up and only let down during a show. My hats off to all the grooms that care for these beautiful animals each and every day!!

  • Oh, I see. Yes, they are very pretty. Looks like a wonderful river of horsey water! :D

I'm sure it's a lot of work keeping those tails knot and tangle free.

  • i wish i was there

  • If you all think they look the same, you must not be too familiar with horses. ;)

  • Some of those horses are so amazing, while others in the class although have a "pretty" headset they are too heavy on the forehand. Some of the riders are on the wrong diagonal!

I -love- the horse from 4:05 to 4:10. *Drool*

Cute spook the one in top 10 did.

  • Lol! The horse from 4:05 to 4:10 is my horse that I showed there that year! So thanks!! Sadly I had to sell him this past spring...but he was amazing!

  • some of the riders are on the wrong diagonal becasue it helps the horse its a pleasure class it doesnt matter what diagonal(s) you are on

  • In pleasure it doesn't matter if they are on the wrong diagonal. Sometimes it can even make the horse look more balanced being on the wrong diagonal

  • GORGEOUS breyer models.. ;) I wish my mare was built like that, she's a little more of the halter type rather than the stocky sporthorse type.

  • haha she's right!! They all look like twins try to top of each other. For some reason its funny but BEAUTIFUL horses!

  • Wow. They look like those Breyer modles. All the same horse, just in different colors.
