These day labors scare away paying customers, litter, piss in the bushes, etc. How come I have to be licensed, bonded,insured and registered with the building department in my city in order to work as a painting contractor, and these guys don't? The truth is the truth. I've seen the day laborers up close dozens of times. Half of them are drunk, a few are using drugs in the parking lots, and at least 3/4 of them have no business being in the country.

No, those assertions are accurate. I've certainly spent enough times at day labor sites to have assessed the situation. The only variable is the inebriation. Often times you'll have only around 20% who have been hitting the bottle. It varies.

We have employment agencies, that connect employers to labor, where the employer dosen't want to handle all the job seekers. Workers need papers to get a job. Illegals stand on the street, since they lack papers.

Just to add to it. That beautiful nursery which use to be booming with customers is now out of business. Many people did not want to go there because they were hasseled by the illegals, the area became filthy as the street and sidewalks became the restroom for these folks. Why was the owner of that business, as a citizen, who paid both employee and employer taxes not protected? I just wanted to add something that was left out of this segment. There is a Montessori school on the property in Mission Viejo where a portion of this was filmed. The laborers would defecate and urinate in front of the children and whistle, gawk, follow women, block traffic and would almost cause vehicle accidents daily. The trash that was left in the bushes and in front of the businesses is beyond belief. One of them tried getting into my wife's car when she pulled into the parking lot.

I live in Lake Forest, and I go down the street that this occurs in all the time. I've had some weird stuff happen to me and my mom when we go down. When I get my car fixed, I get whistled at and grabbed all the time. I will be going to school sometimes because I get stared at and pointed at constantly. They jaywalk and cause more traffic then necessary. I have no problem with them being here, just as long as they don't cause problems.
