  • For those inquiring why some choose sugery: The reason I'm doing the Gastric Bypass surgery is because I have the ability to lose weight but I gain it all back over time and both my parents were diabetic and Chronic hypertention and both passed away from cancer. This is a preventative measure.

  • Citric Acid, Maltodextin, Aspartame, Caffeine, Contains less than 2% of Natural Flavor, Zinc Gluconate, Vitamin E Acetate, Magnesium Oxide, Sodium & Potassium Bicarbonate, Calcium Carbonate, Soy Lecithin, Bha (to Help Protect Flavor), Artificial Color, Yellow 6, Yellow 5. Contains: Soy.

  • I wanted to let people know that the reason for the "lemon flavor" in this drink comes from the citric acid. Citric acid is fine for cleaning out teapots and dishwashers. It's not a great idea to consume it. Aspartame is unhealthy and I have read that soy products can create belly fat. Bha is a human carcinogin. When you mix sodium bicarbonate and citric acid together you can made volcanos as a child's science experiment. Try it!

  • Many personal care and pharmacy products contain a mixture of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate. While sodium bicarbonate is technically an acidic salt, it acts as a base in the presence of citric acid. The two compounds react with one another to produce bubbles, leading to an effervescent solution when they're mixed with water.

  • such a great video. thanks for your kindness.xx

  • I am really thankful for this video. Its a great help. Please can you tell me something about you exercise routine. Thanks

  • We can't get the same packets of stuff here in the U.k.

  • u eat a lot of cheese!! won't that clog your arteries??

  • Please before I ask this question I want to let you know that it is sincere. I am overweight and they wont do a bypass as they say I am not heavy enough. I think I am of course and have about a 20% BMI.

If you would have eaten this way for the past 24 months do you think you would have lost as much weight? Is the surgery the only way you could have come about this wonderful change in yourself? Was it a matter of will that was preventing you to gain or loose weight?

  • Thanks a lot................

  • Great job on the info glad to know I'll be able to eventually have some regular food of coarse in small portions ... Just had surgery last Tuesday and I've been doing great! No pain, nausea, vomiting ... Nothing yet and I hope it stays that way! Lol

  • Wow you eat very consistent...I have not had the surgery and I have the tendency to miss meals, all which I feel would be bad after surgery

  • Does your metabolism slow down

  • Did you ever platue? If so for how long and what did you do to get out of it?

  • I just stumbled upon these WLS videos and I'm amazed at how little food we really need to sustain ourselves... just goes to show how much overeating many of us do.

btw... why so much cheese in your diet... is it to keep your calorie/fat count sufficient?

  • Wow! That's like a weeks worth of food for me now. Just 1mon. out. I'm having some issues trying to take all my vitamins, water, & food. I just don't want to eat. Did you have this problem? Any suggests welcomed. That chicken is calling me. Please post video on how to make. Tks!

  • I'm having this surgery next month...question though...the protein shake at the end...was that something you shared with your wife or was that all yours for the evening? Seemed like alot of food at one time compared with the rest of your day. Just curious! Love your videos!

  • @meltingmamamelted Thanks Beth... I am just impressed that you have time to watch videos.. :) thanks for the comment, I hope that you are having a wonderful night!

  • @watchmegetskinny Dude. I am home all. day. long. I don't do anything else. LOL.

  • Hey AJ: I linked your video on my FB page because I love what you're doing. Of course, *I* can't do the bananas, raisins, oatmeal, corn (sigh) or crackers (boo-hoo), but I am totally impressed that you have found the right balance of foods that work so perfectly for you. That is the key to success in the bariatric after life; understanding our bodies! I think a LOT of post-ops can learn to be successful by watching how you control portions, be accountable, stay active, and oh yeah, be creative!

  • GREAT video! I totally want to steal this idea from you, except I'm afraid I'm eating way more than you. lol Seriously - congrats on all your success. :)

  • i use the matrix orange cream. i blend ice, 1 scoop of the orange cream protein, 1 orange Yoplait yogurt and add OJ....blend...yummy! With other supplements of course. It's my favorite protein. I like your idea of adding fruit, but I'm hooked on mine each day! Your doing a great job sticking with healthy foods! Congrats and keep doing what your doing!

    Susy

  • Thank you so much for the video, I am 9 months post op and had no idea what and how others were eating...I have just one question, what is the serving size on the meats and oatmeal that you eat? I love the cooking videos that you and your wife make, and the others as well..I have learned alot from you two, thanks a bunch

  • @rosethorn12010 do you get full easy?

  • Great video! It's so nice to see what post-ops are eating...thanks for sharing!

  • you have beautiful hands, so delicate...LOL! I WANT NACHO CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Monika

  • cool! Great video.... Thanks for sharing with the community these videos are so important since our journey still continues.

  • darn dude, i can see how you lost weight with that surgery! how much weight did you loose? I am a lil over 500, but i cant have the surgery cause i dont have the cash, so im just eating less. Good to see your healthy how though..

  • Wow thanks for showing us that even 2 years out you stick to a plan. People always ask me "What can you eat?" I tell them normal food with attention to protein and they look at me like I am crazy. This proves I am on the right track :)

    Ruth

  • Thanks for sharing

  • first of all, i LOVE the intro!! TOO awesome!! -- 2ndly, thanks for showing that. Somedays I feel like I eat WAY more than I should, and other days I feel like I dont eat enough. So it's always good to see where people are at on thier journey. :) As usual - AJ, u rock! :-D

  • i would definetly LOVE that chicken recipe!!

  • This was a great video and I know it was informative to those who've just had surgery and I like seeing if I'm right on track too...Thank you :)

  • This is a great video. Thanks for sharing!

  • You stole my idea!!!!! Just kidding. But my FQA series, was about to be video #3 Foods I Eat Now. I have the pics, but haven't done the audio. Nice video. BTW, my husband has been on a desperate Greatest American Hero shirt, like you were wearing, but is unable to ever find his size. take care - jenn

  • yet another great informative video!! thanks... BTW: which type of Crystal Lite? please and thank you...

  • Thanks for making this! I have the sleeve but I still enjoyed seeing how you can eat 2 years out. Do you still count calories and protein?

  • Thanks for posting.

  • That protein shake looks really good.I love fruity shakes!Great pics at the end!Amazing!

  • Looks good, u have come so far ;) yes we need a video of the nacho chicken lol ;)

  • I like that video.. Do you know what would be cool is to have a side by side of pre surgery food what we ate in a day. ( ya know the stuff that made us fat) and the food eaten in a day after surgery.

  • Great video AJ. It helps to see how much others are consuming who are more than a year or two post op. Wishing you continued success!

  • Thank you so much..I had my surgery Jan 8th,08...I lose 130 lbs....I'm down 280..now..I want to get down to 200 lbs..But I haven't been able to lose anymore weight..What do I need to do to start back losing.. thanks

  • Thank you for the video.. Very helpful even now (I am only post op 3 weeks) Gives me something to look forward to.... Cause I am so bored with what I am eating now. I am having problems with getting in enough protein and I am really starting to hate these protein shakes. Maybe some variety will help. Thanks again. :)

  • That nacho chicken looked tasty! yum... Also, I tried a shake once with some crystal light and I didn't like it because I thought it was a little too sweet and artificial tasting - but hey that's a cool idea to put the fruit in there with it - I'm sure that makes a huge difference! I made a mocha shake that I really liked today.. I have been trying to find a protein shake that I like for a while - because I don't like them overly sweet or too thick - I let them settle a bit now, seems to help.

  • I'll be 2 years post op on the 22nd of this month. Its nice to see what someone else eats around the same time post-op as me. We are pretty much the same. How did you eat for the day of your race?

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent food portion video!

  • thanks for posting this, doesn't seem like your pouch has stretched much at all!

  • Thanks so much, I am definitely going to try a version of that protein shake, having problems getting in enough protein
