This comparison is a bit far-off since the mod played here consists of a few small samples and a piece of code for a player, wheras mp3 is a totally different thing with that Fraunhofer algorithm -based encoding of a stereo audio track. Bet you know all this jargon but some of the n00b utuberz don't :)

Doesn't make it bad in any way though, very cool! And they even got a "reverb" on the metallic sound :)

Comparing a pre-rendered video like Animatrix or the Pixar stuff with a real-time rendered intro (read it again: *sixty-four kilobytes*) from the demoscene is unfair. And this is just one out of thousands of real-time "animations" you can get for free, by amateur people, dig a bit and you'll find hours of enjoyment provided by the scene.

This kind of digital art production is generally regarded as "Demoscene", which is a subculture to showcase what genious coders, musicians and artists can do using on a computer. Heaven 7 won the Mekka Symposium 2000 and is widely considered to be one of the best 64k demo (a.k.a "intro") ever made.

Frankly this was Not the best animated video ever, not even representative of what your looking for, the graphics were just self gratification for the makers of the video. i'm not sure what posting this video was about but not one of the best or explaining what was one of the best was achived.
