  • Well one has a Mahagony back and sides and the other has an Indian Rosewood back and sides. Like comparing a baseball bat and a cricket bat. Two totally different woods will give you two totally different sounds. And are the strings the same brand and gauge? Some strings work for certain guitars and some just don't sound as good.

  • man i think everyone here knows that the d28 was number 1...

  • I like number 1 a bit better. I think the bass is fuller in # 1. Mid and high range sound about the same on both. Both sound like quality guitars to me. I would not spend significantly more on one than on the other. Thanks for putting up the blind taste test...Since I'm actually in the market to be a used a guitar and am considering a used Martin D 28, I'm interested to get the answer. Thanks.

  • @philtangerine number 1 is the taylor, number 2 is the martin, but after listening to this clip i hear guitar number two has some distortion to it, i was to close to the camera due to all the extra bass the martin puts out. it has more low end midrange but i would say the low E strong on the taylor has a deeper sound than the low E on the martin. but the low end mid on the martin is very strong. playing a E or A chord especiall

i like the taylor better personally

  • Number one has richer bass it seems. I would have liked to hear their sustain with an open strum. But from that little clip... one has a more full sound to me. However I hear a lot of thuds on the second one so some notes may not have been fretted properly.

  • @45andaScythe no, the first string sounded dead and thumpy on the martin. i pulled the bridge out today and found the worst saddle i have ever saw in there. it was killing the tone of the guitar. i had a new saddle made for it, it had dead low E string in every position but open usually means the saddle is not fat on the bottom and not making good contact. this stock saddle is wavy, rough and jaggid feeling. the new saddle was ready today and the martin now sings like a angle

  • I like number 2.

  • i like number one, pm me the answer

  • Im for number 1, sounds a little deeper and maybe a little more crisp... but that could be my imagination

  • Hey bro, I think that guitar 1 sounds better because it has more bass. Guitar 2 has great mids. I like number 1 best. Thanks man!

  • I like number one better.

  • @lblues1 thanks for the answer...

  • The first guitar had a richer and fuller sound. The second guitar had better high end (new strings?). Both sound good but I prefer #1.

  • I prefer the first one. I also play guitar too.

  • Is the first the D-28, second the Taylor?

  • @everysinglenamesgone if you post a comment stating which guitar you think sounds better i will send you a personal message stating what guitar number 1 and 2 are. if i post that info some people will just say one is better than the other because of the brand and not even listen to the sound clip. I want honest feed back due to the fact that i am not quite sure that i like one of these guitars.

  • @dannylightning Undertandable! Well I liked the first one. The second one sounded tinny. The second one might just need to open up some, though! D-28s are pretty famous for that. (Although I personally think the D-28 is the first one.)

  • impossible question ,really depends on what style your playing ,the firs i like better for this song ,and the second one has more possibilities ,,but the best would be the gibson les paul

it all depends on taste and the guitarplayer i guess ,,be happy you own 2 great guitars ;-)
