@XanetTech Its a widely known fact that a disproportionate amount of the MLP fanbase are gender confused males age 17-34. (Just check the YT video viewer stats yourself). This gender confusion causes many to seek info on gene therapy and its applications (hence the redirection here), such as hormone replacement to effectively make themselves into females they deeply desire to be.
I'm a medical student and I remember learning about this during my undergraduate education and it blew my mind. There is still a lot of research that needs to be done with this idea and it is in the experimental stage right now. Only the very rich of society can afford procedures like this since your whole genome needs to be mapped out to find out which gene is defective. Through my education my professors were steering students towards ideas like this because this is the future of medicine.
It's not hard, but there is a lot of information that is thrown at you...especially in 2nd year (which I'm in right now). If you have a dedicated work ethic you should be able to get through it. I can't tell you if it's worth it or not because I'm not a physician yet, but a lot of physicians have told me that the whole track is definitely worth it...so we'll see. Good luck though!
@GibsonUSA87 thanks, and I've never wanted to work in anything else so I would say I am dedicated. Thanks for the comment and good luck to you too! :)
Alot of people have reccessive or dormant genetic defects (eg breast cancer genes) that could be corrected by gene therapy. It can cure and alot of people from such agonizing diseases.
Thanks really made me understand the whole Gene Therapy thing!

This is so cool. But why is it temporary? I mean with most gene therapy don't you need a shot of new gene material every few months?
