Just watched the movie, and the action, special effects, & acting were good. BUT the story line was TERRIBLE. The person who wrote it must have really HATED Gene Roddenberry. It's basically telling you to essentially throw just about all of Mr. Roddenberry's work in the garbage and rewrite the entire 40 years of his work. The writer & producer couldn't have done much more to defile his grave.
did you pay attention to the storyline at all, nero comes back from the future and alters the past creating an alternate timeline (they even say this in the movie) the original timeline from the original series STILL EXISTS i think that this storyline was very well written because it is not what you said it is.
Oh, please... You might as well call this movie "Terminator-Star Trek: The Quest For A New Plot Line" The writer sends a vaguely terminator-appearing vessel with a stupid romulan back in time to erase all previous Star Trek episodes and movies. Perhaps to make his own series under the guise of an "alternate reality". This romulan would really have to have been the bottom of barrel on the "Gene" pool to not try to change the course of events so his homeworld is saved.
@ewisdom101 Actually Gene's work ended in 1991 when he died. In fact, the only real work that Gene did was with the original and animated series, up to Star Trek 6, and TNG half way through season 4. And others didn't really continue his work, but rather used his creation to bring forth their own work.
So most of Star Trek isn't really a part of Gene's dream. And I wouldn't be surprised if Gene were still here, he'd be praising JJ Abrams. And Gene was cremated by the way.
what is the name of the latest star trek plz tel tnx
