I guess I should steer all of you who have never heard the original duet of Bonnie Campbell and Merle Haggard do their version, I say this with no reservations, it is hauntingly, achingly, tearwrenching beer drinking stuff, or stronger. Bonnie and Merle sang some deep stuff, not the fluff covers of their stuff. Listen to their early stuff, stark, gritty, uncluttered, and some of the best duet material ever recorded. Oh, and by the way, I do adore Porter and Dolly!
Renger29, before you make a statement like that, I suggest you listen to Bonnie Campbell (Owens) sing this, and her and the man who wrote it, Merle Haggard sing this as a duet, nothing comes close to their version---NOTHING!!!
sweetest duet from many by dolly and portar. i'm a deep fan of them both...just too beautiful tuning between them and their soft soothing voices. just great country. tks fr this song and them being here.
I have always been Dolly and Wagoner's fan and these are the songs I grew up listening to, thanks so much for posting and cant get enough of them post more please.
@chenaimwoyo And so have i ,Porter & Dolly were so great to-gether, I went to Nashville twice to see Porter what a gentleman, I shall not soon forget him, Garnet,
