Not many things like this get to me, but this one brought tears to my eyes.. I still have my father, but my Grandfather went on a few years ago.. I miss him dearly and this song made me miss him more, but also gives me the comfort of knowing, I'll have a seat at the table beside him.
This song gets me every time. It was played at my grandmother's funeral last year. Now I can't listen to this song without crying. I can truly relate to what Jeremy has gone through with this.
@samcastyeah Jeremy had attended his father's funeral earlier the day of that performance. Considering he sang about his father saving him a seat at the table in heaven, I'm sure this song was very hard for him to sing, and I applaud the rest of the group being so understanding of how hard it must have been for him by giving him a hug at the end.
O my goodness, that really touches my heart....I love you guys especially Jeremy....Lord that breaks my heart! I'm so sorry that your dad has departed this world. I'm sure he is sooo proud of you. You sing so beautiful...Hugs to you....
I read this on Aaron Swain's blog, which was written the week this song was performed: " For those who don’t know why this particular performance was different than any other, I’ll explain. Jeremy’s father was dying of cancer this week, which is why Jeremy wasn’t there Monday and Jeff Chapman filled in. His dad passed away on Wednesday, the funeral was today and Jeremy took off as soon as the burial was over and got there 45 minutes before Assurance’s set."
I just lost my dad in February and the pain is still there of losing him, but this song is a great blessing and encouragement because I know he is saving me a seat. I miss you dad, I'll see you again.
Cant wait to see my brother-in-law again he was takein 10-10-2009 in a car crash he was going to england and prech the gospel. Everytime I hear this I tear up but there is a better day coming when we all get to see him again.
Jeremy, Heard you all at the Trinity Homecoming last week. What an awesome job you have done. May the peace of God surround you and hold you close in the loss of your Father. Hold close the memories and know that you too, will see him soon, and he has a seat waiting for you.
God Bless Jeremy. May he always feel the peace of God with him always. Jeremy, you will see your father again and he's looking down very proud of you. Keep holding on to God's promise. We Love you very much!!!
Just like angieturner2009 & towerclock1843, I heard Jeremy and the rest of Brian Free & Assurance sing this song in Warner Robins, GA back in November 2009
You can tell he puts so much into this song. The 1st time I heard it was @ Warner Robins a few wks ago and it really touched me then. I have sat here and listened to it over and over. GOD BLESS YOU JEREMY!
This song affects me each time I've heard Jeremy sing it. It speaks to me of my hubby in heaven but this night my heart was breaking for Jeremy & the tears were flowing. It was awesome.
This video means so much to me. Every since you sang it at my daughter's (Leah Delk Gilliam) funeral I have remembered that it was exactly my feelings at the time. It has been over a year now and the pain is just a thought away. Your tears echo the ones in my heart. Thank you for showing your feelings.

Very sweet moment It show that Even the people singing the songs cant make it, I was there that night and it was a bitter sweet moment. there wasnt a dry eye in the room.

I heard it too in Warner Robbins and I just can't let it go......All I listen to is this song. I was very moved and touched by his testimony.
My dad passed away a few years ago, so my heart goes out to him. It is hard being a young adult and your dad passing away.
Me and a couple other guys in our church that have lost their dads, plan to sing this next father's day.
Thanks and Keep on singing Jeremy!
