  • The best group in the world any time xxxx

  • Christ, could they sing and harmonize.

  • Ahhh...pure red velvet. What a time to be alive..

    Thank you.

  • The Bee Gees proving that they are the finest songwriters of the modern era... fantastic album!

  • Preciosidad total ;-)

  • This is an excellent song from an excellent album, check out Lamplight if you are not familiar with it from the same album.

  • i agree with bohemian - this is probably the most underated Bee Gees song and arguably their best - and that's from a band that had so many classics

  • Wow this is one great song!! Very intense lyrics!

  • This album is excellent....

  • Excellent song.

  • the odessa stuff seems a littlle more sprawling and melenholy than that which preceeeded it..... i would have to listen to it taking a long drive and an open mind and would probably warm up to it.

  • @posthumanhero

Check out their "Bee Gee's First" too. It's similar to Odessa in some ways, though, imo, it's a more solid album, not to put down Odessa.

  • @clockworkfiction3 i have the first three in 'deluxe' version....sounds so much better than those poorly mastered 60s lps........like hearing them for the first time.......awesome!

  • classic! Thanks.

  • stupenda !!!

  • giles. you are the man. thank you for posting. this rocks.

  • Their greatest song EVER. I think it's obvious when you listen to, say, Dwight Twilley "Out Of My Hands", or the third Big Star LP, or the Posies, that these guys were an influence on sad power pop.

  • @johnnyriggsisdead ... mmmhhh you're the kind of guy with 10000 records ! ... i don't know the third big star... it's the only one that i don't know...

i'm quite surprised to find clear connection with a band like Oasis... now i remember that the Gallagher brothers put the Bee Gees in their influence contrary to the Beach Boys

but this song is for me definitly in the top 10 and maybe top 5 of the band... and some real contender for me are some songs from their greatest album... Trafalgar...

  • @BohemianConspiracy Yeah, I've sold many over the years, but I still have thousands of albums and 10s of thousands of CDs, DATs, cassettes, blah blah. I met, photographed, and interviewed Noel and Liam a few times. Once when we were hanging out I brought up the Rutles and said that the LP was sometimes every bit as good as the Beatles and Noel said he thought it was better! Ha.

I think they're both on here somewhere flickrDOTcom/photos/johnnyriggsisdead/

  • @johnnyriggsisdead so you're really close connected to rock n roll ... your finger feel the rythmn of his various pulsations... so you're talkin' about Odessa...when you said that Noel think it was better than some of the beatles... unbelievable...for me he push it too far... but i like what he said...it can open the eyes of some blind oasis fans who just don't care about the bee gees... they better like Slade or Status Quo ...i respect & i have cd's of both bands ...but there's so much more

  • This album is excellent....some yrs before they turned disco....yak...
