on the best test track, sad i know but i thought fuck it, this is a legit claim not the videos boasting 1000+mph, i made the output 1320 something bhp did it so that within 3/4 (god knows why it didnt let you go round and round) 326mph?!!!!!!! my point being this is good but i bet he did a helluva setup beforehand, youve got to really if you take it that seriously to try and break records,

not just what eran said but also the fact of setup, now theres too ways of doing it, you could remember waht settings do what or you could look at what your tweaks do to the performance for an individual car, now unlike most racing games gt suddenly show you the power and torques you get when you make adjustments which i dont like because it should be tune and hope for the best, put it this way when i was 18 i sat for 20 minutes trying to get the minolta lm car on gt4 to go as fast as it could

I think one big reason for this time being 6 seconds faster than the real track record is that the driver in GT don't have to worry about crashing the car so there's nothing to lose by pushing it to the edge. Real F1 drivers are probably more careful when they drive. And of course, in the prologue the tyres never wear out so the grip is optimal all the way, and the weight of the car doesn't depend on the amount of fuel.

@ExplosiveFace F1 is all about acceleration and deceleration, so grip and weight is all there is to it. A fuel tank may hold up to 90 kg of fuel, adding 15% of weight to the minimum weight of 605 kgs. The grip is best when the tyres are warm and they are also worn out during the race. So by the start of a stint you have a heavy car and good tyres and by the end of a stint you have a light car and not so good tyres. In GT Prologue I suspect the performance is ideal all of the time.

@BrainSeepsOut rFactor reminds me of an Indy Car racing game I used to play in 1995. Now, I haven't played rFactor myself so maybe the physics are way better than GT 5 Prologue, they may very well be.

Well, I'm not blind, visuals is an important part of a game. But even more, I've played Gran Turismo scince 1998, even if there were other racing games out there who are better I would still stick with the series, it has a special place in my heart.

I haven't seen very much of rFactor, only some YouTube vids and some reviews on the internet, so I can only base my opinion on those. And from what I've seen there I visually prefer GT5 Prologue. And I've only got a laptop PC so my computer would only be able to run it on minimum setting, which is... well, horrible (could make you blind). So unless they release rFactor for PS3, then GT5 is gonna be where I spend my money.

The fsone 2008 rfactor mod for example has excellent physics, with no driver aids :)

The F1 car in GT5 is by default set to simulation mode. It can't be on anything else. It may be an unrealistic time, but it not being on simulation mode is not the reason.

no not really at all, the record/laptime set by Kimi Räikkönen, F1 driver on this same track, Suzuka in real life. is only 4 seconds shy of this record in this video. it may seem very unrealistic because its onboard an F1 !,have you been inside of an F1? you have to put that perspective into the situation, to come close to verifying if this is TRULY is unrealistic. to me it comes close reality. btw these are kilos not miles jtlyk

good job! you should use full sim mode and disable all driving adds. The best time is around 128.500 - or a bit below. I drive like 1.29.5 but have focused on slower cars. Still 1 Second is a lot of time I have to find. :)

it looks like he is useing a regular ps3 controller. Nice lap man, when i get my ps3 i will try and beet it :P. In GT3 i did 1.04.569 on laguna seca with an f1 car. Not sure if you can drive laguna yet on prologe but you can try and beet that time :)

My highest is 1.25.722 after looking at the replay in detail I see there are areas of improvement where I could have gone closer to a curve or also further improve car set up.. Some practice and I may beat this, perhaps if I had a better Logitech wheel I might improve because with my Momo Racing Wheel is too bulky and I don't get good feedback...

He's obviously racing a trial lap on multiplayer or event racing, not the arcade section where the time trials take place. This allows him to customize the ride and most importantly, use Racing3 tires. His best lap time is unfortunately not legit.

the physics is completely wrong, the wheels have over 10% yaw, over 10% means u spin out. Also, its not a simulator, even with a wheel, it feels nothing like a car. But on the whole, very neat lap, u sure can drive!

If you think that he cheated to make the car go over 300mph, he didn't. That's because his gauge was set to kph. 300kph translates roughly in 194mph. I have gotten that Ferrari to 215, so it isn't really a cheat.

okay, ppl the difference between forza and gt5 is huge, and ill break it down for you.

1)there is alot of more feel in forza 2 with the vibrating controller.

2)gt5 has really good grphx and in car view.

3)forza 2 has crashing and a better online system for racing.

4)gt5 has no feel in driving, in real life u can feel the car through ur feet and ur ass in the seat, at least forza tried to simulate that as were gt5 didnt even attempt to try. but i do like the in car view and how it has f1 cars

A few things come into play when comparing real laps with GT5 laps.

The main one would be that in the game you are willing to push harder and take more risks because you have nothing to lose, but if you did the same in real life you could push to hard and crash, which would be very expensive for the team owner.

Another thing is that the performance of the car and the state of the track can also affect the lap time.

After all, this is jsut a game :)
