  • hi, i have a 9.9 evinrude on my 12` aluminum, would u happen to know why water is shooting up?? it only does it while i`m driving!! n i have the motor down the same way as it urs is in the vid!

  • @weiserbud67

Check the motor tilt, it mave be angle out too much, there is a removable pin to adjust the tilt.

Or the prop just might not be low enough on the water. Is it out of the water spashing when you start to move forward?

  • @weiserbud67 Sounds like the prop my be position too high up in the water or possible the shaft it tilted too much. There is a pin that you can take out to change the angle the shaft rests at. try it at zero andgle firts. if that don't work try the next angled postition and so on.

  • i got me a 4hp johnsona and a 3.5 eska that i put on my aluminum boat and i bet i could eat you alive lol

  • i own a 1955 evinrude half horse and it still works

  • nice...but my 6.0 johnson will eat that

  • haha,, no way, unless it's mounted on the side of a kayak.

  • Oh the boat is a 15 foot Seanymph "Pike Attacker"

  • With one or two people the hydrofoil made a HUUUGE improvement on my boat. The boat would not plane without it. But with three people it make no noticeable improvement (too much weight).

One thing you must remember though, the hydrofoil needs to line up perfectly with the bottom of your boat or else it will have a negative effect. When my boat is on plane the hydrofoil is gliding on top of the water.

..also seems to work best with zero to 1 degree of engine tilt.

    Hope this helps,

  • G'day fakeusa, nice little engine you've got it. Has the hydrofoil fins made a huge difference in its performance? How big was this boat, & how many people were in this boat its pushing? cheers, Shan.
