Some people may disagree but I do not think a person should be killed for stealing. I am not a thief and I have things stolen from me, ie had my car broke into and have had two bicycles stolen. The problem here, in part, is that the police officer lost control of the dog, thus the dog became a veritable death sentence for one of the thieves. Some people may disagree but I do not think a person should be killed for stealing. I am not a thief and I have things stolen from me, ie had my car broke into and have had two bicycles stolen. The problem here, in part, is that the police officer lost control of the dog, thus the dog became a veritable death sentence for one of the thieves. If the dog had not somehow been restrained it would have killed a man. A man who I believe deserves prison time, not death.

A friend of mine lost half his arm leg and a large portion of his torso to an un supervised police dog that was searching for some crims what they did is more than justifiable that dog would of killed them if they didn't do what they did long before an officer could of restrained the animal. This has no easy answers. Yes, the burglars deserved to be bitten. But at the same time, you can hardly blame someone for taking whatever action necessary to defend against an animal attack. I have twice in my life had loose GSDs come after me, and I know what it takes to defeat one and make it back off. He could have released the dog once he passed out, but in the heat of the moment that was probably not likely. You have a moral right to defend yourself even if not a legal one.
