Thanks for this. If it hadn't been for this video, I might not have noticed the Constitution includes in its first sentence "promote the general welfare" as one of the reasons it was created.
I like the constitution. I'm not american. but you don't need to worship the motherfucker. These were brillaint enlightment thinkers, but they weren't right on everything, were they?
Populism is scarier than liberalism. always has been.

Remember that this is old skool, the way Republicans used to be. Quite a few people are complaining about the libreals, and perhaps rightfully so, but I do know that we lost the most freedoms to creepy government during the last presidency, and am not going to forget that just because we have to pay the bills now.
Excellent speech. I think that it should have been addressed to us as well as those folks on the hill, but maybe that's what youtube is for.
"Mew , Mew, Mew I don't like the government anymore cause those nasty liberals run it. They wont let business run the country anymore, they want to stop people from destroying the environment. They don't worship profits. Boo hoo." Why do these Douche bags seem unable to understand that WE THE PEOPLE elected a new government that represents OUR will and OUR values. It's not unpatriotic or unconstitutional.
@Shawntbell THIS government that you elected does NOT represent the MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE ! go look at all the healthcare polls. the liberals are losing on most or all of them ! 61% dont want it, and they are ramming it thru. and that is unconstitutional !
Who are you to judge healthcare reform unconstitutional based on POLLS? Where in the constitution do the Founding Fathers demand congress take a poll before enacting legislation? How sophomoric. If you want to make America a better place volunteer for the homeless, disabled, senior citizens, or immigrants. Leave law to the congress.
Now is the time to stand up for what is right; anyone who is informed can see that your individual freedoms are under attack, there are countless bills introduced each year for the sole purpose of attacking our constitutional freedoms and eroding the bill of rights.

You are enabling those who will take your freedom and fighting those who are standing up for YOUR rights.
Benito Mussolini defined fascism as corporatism. A government that puts the needs of corporate interest, or profits, ahead of piblic needs. That is what your typical republican politican cares about. Corporate profits. Some democrats are just as bad. Pelousy, Steny Hoyer, Most of the Blue dog democrats, and the conservative dems in the senate.
I'm sure we all want to follow Mussolini's example. How telling that people like yourself chose such role models.
A "corporation" is nothing more than a group of people who pool their resources to be better than they can be on thier own. In America, the typical stockholders of corporations are those that chose to invest in that enterprise, and include teachers, police, firemen, and individual retirement accounts.
I will be attending Congressman Poe's townhall this weekend. Nah it should be we the people will give congress healthcare and give the republicans the right to trash our society and insult america and kill our children with wars set off by lies for bush's vanity and then when we bring our children home in body bags his mother says this about our children: "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"
— Barbara Bush, Good Morning, America, re: Iraq war. 3/19/03
why does Congress still hold meetings? They already proved they're worthless. They should be paid to stay home and just let Wallstreet do what ever the fuck they want.
The de jure legislature of the united States of America identified as Congress in Article 1, Section 4, Clause 2 (1856) adjourned sine die in 1861. Evidence of its reconvening in the absence of a congressional quorum has not been exhibited by the United States. The national legislative body discernible in Amendment XX, Section 2 first appeared in 1863 by executive resolution as a department of the Executive Branch of government pursuant to Emergency War Powers.

So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

why does Congress still hold meetings? They already proved they're worthless. They should be paid to stay home and just let Wallstreet do what ever the fuck they want.

The de jure legislature of the united States of America identified as Congress in Article 1, Section 4, Clause 2 (1856) adjourned sine die in 1861. Evidence of its reconvening in the absence of a congressional quorum has not been exhibited by the United States. The national legislative body discernible in Amendment XX, Section 2 first appeared in 1863 by executive resolution as a department of the Executive Branch of government pursuant to Emergency War Powers.

I'd like to shorten the pledge of allegiance:
