  • Miss that from my spouse, love.

  • Man, I wish I grew up in that era. They had REAL music back then!

  • One of the songs Ray sang at Casio Monrongo!

  • Ahhhh, back in the day when Black's spoke English.

  • If you want to take it racial, fine. Black community, stand up and straighten out your young people and let them know the "gangsta muthaf*ckin streets" culture of b*tches, blunts and money yo is NOT acceptable.

If it sounds like a stupid argument on a MUSIC video? You're right. Problem is YOU moved first, chief. SMDH @ "white execs"....

  • kja427 - YOU ARE AN ASS. These mythical "white" execs wouldn't scramble to sign these talentless clowns unless ghetto ass young people glorified it. There are actually "songs" today with a refrain of "Oh yeah oh yeah f*ckin' right f*ckin' right"...and the kids know it line for line yet can't even memorize their classwork.

  • My no good azz boyfriend needs to listen to thiz song!!!!!!

  • @amcintosh96 lololl..classic

  • sexy timez

  • Too bad the African-Americans of my generation can't do stuff this good these days. I guess this is what you get when you put all your eggs in Hip-HOp's basket, AND THE MUSIC INDUSTRY EXECS HAVE THEIR HEADS IN THEIR ASSES! At any rate, Nice job, Ray!

  • @kja427 - Ray Parker Jr. and a tons of other soulful black acts

still exist. Don't blame black folk s because the music industry

is the way it is today . Its the white music industry execs putting all their

eggs into the crappy autotune hip hop you hear today. Not to mention those

white execs ignore quality black bands due to "old age". You see,

black folks don't worry about old age. White people always focusing

on looking young and fake. It may sound "racist" but it's true.

  • @PastBeta You may have a point there.

  • @kja427 It is sad that the young people today do not have music like Ray Parker Jr-It is all about money and sadley as long as Hip Hop sells the music industry execs are going to keep promoting it-But here is some good news for you-history repeats itself and that good music from the early 80's will return-so just hang on

  • 39 Dumb Butts.

  • Who you gonna call? Actually, this song was a pretty big hit when it was released, so Ray Parker really wasn't literally a one-hit wonder.

  • this a real good song. I listen to it all the time on itunes and youtube

  • the same elements ray used here were the precursor for the New Edition Parker penned hit Mr. Telephone Man. Ray Parker is a genious

  • Almost strange that all the R&B of the 70's 80's and even 90's can be easily enjoyed by all ages in 2011. Interested persons can check out KUMU radio in Hawaii, (the only OLD SKOOL music station) that plays only "Old Skool" music 24/7 My radio in my car is locked on 94.7 Kumu all the time. Reminiscing on thr Great Old School music

  • @bee52mitch Real music is timeless!

  • this guy was the epitome of cool.......more proof that todays music is controlled by the devil, none of it makes you feel good, just all negative energy

  • good simple music if he remade this song with somebody like JOE to sing it this song would do well

  • This was a deadly song in its time and even now can hold its own with the best and rest

  • so sweet!!!

  • He was the smoothest operator R&B has ever known.

  • he was sexy billy dee tpye fella

  • is it me...or does ray seem to move a little stiff.....im 54 and this was one of the best groups ever.

  • @quierodinero1 I would have loved to see the budget for this video...you could probably buy a ipod today with it..lol

  • You give a woman love..and they think you are a wimp, and step all over you.

This song was relevant 30 years ago...but not today.

  • @LawnboyBaker Funny..lol

  • I love Ray Parker Jr...he is so underrated it isn't even funny.

  • His clothes are so actual . One thing is clear, who is elegant is timeless .

  • Never seen this video but i know the music since the 80´s. Very good!

  • Always loved the bass line on this song. White blazer, pink shirt, and a knit tie with the square bottom; it's the 80's.

  • love it..from my youth.. always did.

  • Times have changed from yesterday.

  • Retro Hit of the Day: This song was a hit on both the Billboard pop and soul charts in one of my favorite times, spring 1981. (Thanks for the memories BAC! :) ) It was Parker's first to hit #1 on the R&B chart and also reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

  • thanks soso much for posting this song and video-i think it came out in the 80's--i am 63 and i so appreciate the good video of ray. i old but not too old to look and admire this gorgeous and talented guy!

  • As an R&B artist I want to bring elements of the 80's music back.

  • A woman needs money and support! and a big DICK!

  • Great old tune. This video almost looks like it could be a Colt 45 commercial. #BillyDeeWilliams

  • @Mr96tears Yeah, he DOES have a "Billy Dee"-type thang goin' on here. Never thought about that for.

For the musicians here, Ray is actually one of biggest influences as a BASS player. He plays everything (like here), but his reputation was made as a guitarist. As a bassist, though, he has a nice ROUND clear ringing one that lends itself to a variety of styles. He was a pretty good slapper too. Check out Raydio's "Rock On."

  • xD this music make me remember why the world changes !

  • that shit right there....damn i was raised by some parents that loved to buy some good damn music

  • The first 29 seconds just capture that late 70's early 80's feel....

  • He seems Manny Pacquiao, and as Manny p. is the greatest

  • "I tell ya, one day you'll come home early from work, open up the door and get your feelings hurt"

    HAHAHAHAHA

  • WOW! This was in the 80s & he was talking about how things have changed...little did he know...or perhaps he did...

  • Ray parker jr your songs remain ever true and contemporary

  • @mfuji02 Almost. Brook Benton and Dinah Washington is grown folks music.

  • I wonder why Ray never got any recognition from the Grammys or any other music award show or organization??? hmmm....or did he?

  • @remixhombre personally, I think his Ghostbusters theme ruined his career, nobody took him seriously after that....................sad, he was a talented man

  • dont give a daaam this song go hard..!!!

  • @musiclover77able I was 14!! I remember this on the adult contemporary stations that played Peabo Bryson, Dr Hook, Gino Vanelli and Air supply. Dont hear this much anymore on the radio.

  • this was truely the 1980's.

  • He wrote New Edition's Mr. Telephone Man

  • @prettyone78 i love that song.. loo up stevie wonder sesame street you see him on guitar with a beenie on

  • ゴーストバスターズで、彼を知ったけど、こちらも名曲。

  • this amazing song is 5 years older than me~ oh i love love love it!!!!

  • Pure smooth R&B at its best, adults writing meaningful songs with depth and playing melodies to support. Great group underrated for their time although Ray Parker did enjoy great solo writing and singing career throughout the 80's

  • 30 folks need to know good music. Billboard's #16 hit of '81. God bless! Hugs to you, for postin' it! Ray referenced his 1st hit, 'Jack and Jill' in the lyrics.

  • To the korean man A WOMAN NEEDS LOVE

    a constantly

    b every other weekend

c less than the family shitzu

  • Why did I used to think he was drop dead gorgeous then?

  • @String9 He is cute!

  • Women are players like men.. Bitches :)

  • Yeah, I really like Ray Parker and Raydio, I saw them live back in the day when the group was Raydio, In St. Louis, MO

  • great classic. i used to think ray parker jr was so sexy... then ghostbusters came out. but seriously, he was smooth as billy dee back in the day. they could've been brothers they looked so much alike.

  • Classy and respectful of women!

  • ray is soilder boy's father!!

  • @TheGregwilli bro are you serious? wow that kinda does my head in lmfao

  • Oh my god! It's Lando Calrissian!

The Empire can rule my town,

    just like you do...hey!

  • This was the cut when i was a junior in high school.

  • I think one of the band members looks like his brother, unless that was him. I've always liked this dude.

  • That was good old days!

  • yeap music has really changed. I remember when this song came out i was 12 years old and instantly loved it. there's no way today you will get these thug ass clowns to sing a love song or smooth slowed down r&b song to a woman because he'll be considered a bitch or soft for showing his emotional side. songs like this does'nt exist anymore with the same substance, creativity, & meaning. yeah there's a few great artist today, but 80% of the music industry is pure garbage in all genre's. 70's-90's

  • I really love this!

  • why can't snoop dog make nice music like this

  • @w9x7cv3vg6 Roflmao...guys nowadays would consider themselves "soft" for being caring about women. Not all but most...

  • @DigitallyPink saddest thing is that a lot of women think that too

  • Che bellaaaa, che voce, che musica. E' un fantastico classico anni 80!

  • Whoa! ... What a CLASSIC! Thanks for sharing!
