  • O sg

  • this is cool we had some that never came down

  • this is cool we had some that never came down

  • this was cool but takes so long to make it looks like if you get a heavy duty black garbage bag and you have a chiminea you can do it the same as this with hardly any effort

  • how do you find the volume of this baloon??? need help now please

  • Que porra FEIA!!

  • search THIS i couldnt post it here " GLOBO VACA 2009 globos de los peces " thats is and awesome aerostatic balloon

  • that's pretty gay, watch this one in Medellin Colombia, the only thing here in the united states is that all houses are made out of wood, which make it really dangerous for people here, and most people don't see this often.

  • It's okay, I tried it in the summer but you have to patch many holes.

  • does it fly?

  • im sure your hamster will really appreciate you building this for him.

  • its god

  • i can try it

  • what's a gore?

  • narrated by tom hanks.

  • Part Two:

    9) reinforce the bottom mouth

    10) check crown for airtight seams junction

    11) make an aluminium cooking foil cone shaped chimney to place over burner, or use electric paint stripper gun for safest inflating - never attach a burner to the envelope or use petrol as fuel!

  • Well it flys - but that is a terrible construction method! Make it flat: 1) leave gores clipped & lying flat when cut 2) fold away top half gore 3) glue next two gore edges together 4) fold away glued seam 5) repeat gluing adjacent gores until the last half gore 6) unclip & fold bottom unglued gore under top unglued half gore 7) glue the last two gore edges together to complete the pleated envelope 8) when dry turn envelope inside out, carefully passing crown through bottom
  • nice strategy..!

  • The take off, actually put a smile on my face. lol.

  • very good effort, showing every step clearly

  • It looks really cool and fun to build, however I have reservations about sending a lit sterno can flying off in a heavily wooded area.

  • @JeevesReturns The sterno remains on the ground. This is what angers me.

  • woops

  • fail

  • we recently made 1 at school. My team's baloon went onto the roof of an auto zone 1/4 of a mile away. funny reactions of the pedestrians :)

  • did this at school with helium it was awesome

  • i followed it and i go a A in my final exam

  • I gotta do this for chemestry(no idea why) but the teacher gave us 20*20 tissue paper, so would it work if I cut it to be 10*15 ?

  • simple enough, thanks!

  • i made one 30years go at school we loved it . thanks for that

  • @NickInTheBack Hi Ginger

  • I made one of these. My friend was helping me and it carried him away.

A week later he called me from China and wanted me to come and pick him up and bring him home.

  • J.bać ten materiał ! Polecam worek na śmieci ;D

  • water down glue alil and then use a paintbrush to apply

  • i got a question what type of heat energy did you use?

  • could you tape a small can underneath it with sterno in the tray so it stays flying?

  • u kinda sound like tom hanks

  • epic WIN!!

  • this seems like something i would make

  • That is so fucking hippy... I love it...

  • lol i did this in fifth grade

  • its really helpful, thx.

  • I like this design!!

  • what if it hits something sharp of hits a tree all that work for only 1 or 2 flights

  • make em with a pot pie pan and alcohol and they will go outta sight lol

  • sorry, but that sounds really dangerous.

  • will this work if you just use air as the gas to get it to fly?

  • That looks like a lot of fun

  • I'm trying this now, if i doesnt work u owe me 12 sheets of tissue paper, lol jk

  • Nice vid man :D

  • @Hezibeth sorry i down thumb'd ya by mistake

  • 3:59 that kinda looks like an ass

  • cant we just use a garbage bag or something? :D

  • This will be great for my school project. Thanks

  • @SuBsAnDwIcH200 Hey me too

  • @NickFrankity hey me three!!!

  • I found using sticky tape (the thin transparent kind) works really well for holding the paper together.

  • try to attach a hear source to the balloon for continuous lift.

  • Wow...this is a very well made video! I like your clear and concise explanations, and your have very good drawing skills. Are you an artist? I bet you can draw well! You sound like a very personable and kind man. Thanks for sharing this video. God bless.

  • can u use hot air? i.e fire underneath? not burning it though?

  • Comment removed

  • can u use hot air?

  • After cutting out the shape from the stack of folded paper, it's easy then to just glue each piece to the next. Then all that's left is to glue the first to the last, and that avoids awkward creases. Also if when you fly it it leans, safety pins or clothespins can be clipped to the edge of the opening to adjust it.

  • can i connect the spirit to the balloon? and can you please tell me the actual amount of the spirit I shoud use.

please send your answer to my email, ok? weiqi.bloom@gmail.com

    I appreciate that very much!

Thank you & have a nice day. ^^

  • got stuck on my nabours roof

  • If I ever have kids, we are sooo doing this.

  • You're a hippie who works with kids, arent'cha ;)

Heh fun video though. I wanna try a hot-air zeppelin, lifted by tea-light candles, powered forward by a rubber band propeller.

  • @Wodenhelm wont work if you shape it like a zeppelin....the shape has to be made with a real low CG (weight at the very bottom so it stays upright) and you better go buy a winder and some hobby rubber strings to make ur own rubber bands cuz if u use somethin u buy at a store the props will only spin for like 7 seconds. versus around 30 seconds when u make ur own band wuld like to see the finished product of u do find a way to get it to work

  • how long in average dies it stay in the air i am doing something at school and you want it to stay in the air as long as possible please reply as fast as possible

  • cool beans

  • should have made it so the fuel was attached to it so it could keep going

  • looks like it crashed, did the aliens die

  • wat tissue paper are u using? is it okey to use japanese paper???

plz. reply on my question!i needed it for my school project!

  • @kakayTrueMeh1431 itll work

  • @Christianite554 wow! tnx for the reply!

  • in mexico we make this alot

  • speeded up video. lol

  • excellent..! 5/5

  • Thanks man, you saved my life for this project I have to do.

  • Thanks so much... I just won my phyiscs competion with this design

  • does it matter how big the curve is?

  • its so cool i tried and it didnt go that well but it did fly a little

  • how do you light the diesel i thought it burns under compression not like petrol it light with a spark

  • i love the music at the end!

  • when he says 20 by 30 is that in cm??

  • Used to do this at junior school in the UK - a hippy teacher (Mr Ball, where are you?) ran a hot air balloon club - he had a mad idea of joining forces with the wicker work class and buiding a balloon that could support the weight of a wicker basket and the smallest kid in class - the headmaster put a stop to that! We did build and launch an especially large balloon at a science fair in Leicester - it caught fire and landed across the road on a factory roof.

  • stupid headmaster!!! did you get introuble from the factory owners? and how did you get it down?!

  • @thelonleyislandfan

If I recall, we did a runner once we heard the the emergency services arriving.

  • hahaha

  • There goes the the 4 a half hours of work you put into it flying away ... lol

  • dud i made this it worked perfectly actually it was the best balloon from the whole class so good job in makin this video

  • this video is amazingg! reallyy helpful!

i have one question though: how many inches from the middle did u mark on the tissue paper before you cut them? is it three inches on both the top and bottom? and do the lines connect half-way through the tissue paper?

  • Well done! I´m going to make one! :)

  • Aliás, fez tudo errado!!!

    Mais amador impossível!!!

    Bem, a intenção foi boa...

  • made mine in a hour went 0.40 mi or 2104 feet

  • With some practice you can make some efficient burners and get some 1+ mile flights. I just let a big one go today and it flew away till it was barely a speck in the sky...btw I use plastic instead of paper.

  • Lol a toadstool

  • i made mine in 1 week 1 hr each day and i got it up to 3000 feet cause i kept a mini fire in it and it just kept going and going after a while on its way back down i started shooting it with my bb gun lol it was funny till the plastic and cardbord caught in flames in the sky about 30ft above me

  • doin this 4 8th grd science...waited till last nite b4 turn in.stayin up till midnight sucks

  • did this in highschool aeronautics class. ours were 20ft. glued light wire into bottom opening so we could close it after heating. heated over 55 gal drum with a charcoal fire. very successful, except the one that my team built, caught fire from a floating ember. flaming paper everywhere, very hindenberg-esque. nobody got hurt, great fun.

  • balão mo zuado

  • cool balloon and clever way way to make ballon

  • better if it had its own supply of heat for longer flight

  • Na hora de fechar o balão, você fez errado!

  • wheres the video of the launch taken place at? it looks familiar...

  • btw try diesel it works pretty good

  • they do this all the time in Mexico

  • nice

  • @seempw thanks
