The extent to which Jewish communities have maintained genetic continuity can be seen in the Jews of Bukhara, now the capital of Uzbekistan, in central Asia. By oral tradition, the Bukhara Jewish community traces its roots to the 8th Century BCE, when the Jews of the Northern Kingdom of Israel were exiled by the Assyrians. Despite being cut off from the rest of the Jewish world for two millennia,
Yes IranAryana, they are all fluent in Farsi and many do speak Russian because Uzbekistan was part of the former USSR. Regarding religion, they are Sephardic Jews like many Jews from the Middle East, such as Iranian and Syrian Jews and not to be confused with Ashkenazis, which are Eastern European Jews of Caucasian race.
@PosholNahooy These Bukharians are NOT Jews and if they were they'd be Mizrahi not Sephardim, idiot! Afghan and Pakistani tribes are making the same Iost tribes claim but no one takes them seriously. And the fact is that even Afghans are far more Kohana Semite by DNA than Ozbegi Turks from the former Soviet Central Asia! They claim to be jews like the Afghans claim to be Jews, but i would believe the Afghans are in the line of Malik Talut before these Bukharian Turks claiming to be Jews!
@Shkhelkhshk WE ARE NOT TURKIC!!! We are Jewish and Mizrachim (Eastern Jewish) who practice Sephardic Judaism. Slander is bad, and Khudo Khohad, Yak ruz ba tu Khudovand jaza metiyad, agar zaboni teghi tu push namekuni, Khudo ba tu jazo tiyad boshad
@bnwwf91 OZBEGI people ARE INDEED TURKIC, NOT JEWS!! Any Ozbeg who tells you he is a Jew is, as i have asserted before, a Czarist runaway from the Crimea/Kazan region who learned how to speak Judeo-Persian from Mashhadi jews (Mizrachim), or he is simply lying! This is not slander, it's history! It is that simple.
@PosholNahooy Our language actually is more similar to colloquial Tajik (a dialect of Parsi) and many Bukharians, unless familiar with Literary Tajik and Standard Tajik, will have trouble understanding Iranian Parsi, escpecially because of the accent and grammatical differences in Tajik and Iranian Parsi

Dna studies shows that Bukharan Jews remain genetically close to other contemporary Jewish populations, but not to their geographic neighbors.

@bnwwf91 It's called Judeo-Persian as spoken by Bukharian Turkic Jewish converts. It was borrowed from the Mashhadi Persian Jews (true Mizrachi jews)
