This movie has sooooo many references to all the Alien and Predator movies which probably only movie nerds will find out but I can promise, if you love horror films, well executed stunts and a badass Predator, you will enjoy this movie,although I agree that there´s not a great plot involved. But the Strause brothers weren´t hired to shoot a shakespeare movie but a rated R horrormovie and in my oppinion they succeeded.
This movie I would say is a masterpiece, really liked the movie, when I saw it I felt like home, but it was too dark sometimes which made it kind of hard to see what happens, but it was a really cool movie! Good job, cant wait for AVP 3!

I like that each AVP movie has a certain style that reflects to the original Alien/Predator movies. In AVP, the area has a very open feel to it and also it's easier to see everyone, like it is in Predator or Predator 2, while in Requiem, it's dark, and silent, with alot of tight feeling areas, like it would be in an Alien movie. So I give them some credit for that, even if it wasn't on purpose.
But, most of time, you couldn't see what was going on cause it was so dark. But it was good though. The Predalien and Wolf were awesome. The army mom was pretty cool too. =)
Very often you get to see pointless and nauseous movies that appear every year... AVPR is one of the most absurd and terribly built up of them. You won't just be disappointed, you will be sick if you wait until the credits...and not by the mindless gore, but when you start thinking "how is it possible that a studio decided to invest millions on this shit?"

These AvP films are a big dissipointment. I am confused as to how they can take the two greatest sci-fi beasts and mess it up. Ive seen this on Blu Ray!! and its weird!! the picture is too dark!! Blu rays look stunning but AVPR on this format looks like someone turned the lights off alot of the time!! the directors clearly are not very smart! they just thought|! make it dark!! for atmosphere!! I've seen a bit of the footage behind scenes... It wasn't filmed so dark, they just edited it with pc to get the dark feel and that didn't work so good, cause it's just plain too dark.
This film was kinda a letdown its overdone, the 1st one is very well edited and the creatures look real (somewhat), in this one the editing is shocking for a feature film and the creatures are not realistic, although the story was good.
I vote for a female predator in AVP3! they need something new now! and a better director!! focus on character build up! thats what made the original films so good!! cast comes first! monsters second!!

I admit: not as bad as I thought it was going to be but I always thought the Alien series was supposed to be intelligent/psychological sci-fi horror. I don't understand why this was soooo much better than AVP, it made all the same mistakes the first one did and yet AVPR had even LESS developed characters. "Who was that guy that just got killed? These AvP films are a big dissipointment. I am confused as to how they can take the two greatest sci-fi beasts and mess it up. Though I do have to say that they did bring some intersting new things in from these movies, like the predalien and Wolf was an awsome Pred. I also injoyed the new Pred weapons they made in these films. Dident really enjoy the movie but who diden't love that wip!

I will point out something about good film making!! in Aliens!! its about an hour into the film til you see an Alien!!! for all those who talk crap about it all being about gore, cgi, zap and blast!! explain why Aliens is one of the best Sci-fi movies ever :) the first hour of that film is not full of alien zapping!! work it out? its something called storyline, build up, character development!! something todays generation doesn't care for! because let face it! their thick!

i don't understand the picture is perfect in this trailer but in the actual movie it is so dark. there must have been some mistake during production or editing. I hope they fix so this BAD movie can have some dignity if any...

Ive seen this on Blu Ray!! and its weird!! the picture is too dark!! Blu rays look stunning but AVPR on this format looks like someone turned the lights off alot of the time!! the directors clearly are not very smart! they just thought|! make it dark!! for atmosphere!! BUT making it too dark doesn't help :)

A perfect example of how more gore and blood doesn't make up for a better film.
The fIrst AVP was very simple and badass,just because it focused more on the past then the present. Also ALOT more sophisticated in story. This one was, "Kill x2, Birth x2, Kill, Birth x3, and repeat until, Nuke....
It was a good "Time Waster". But the first was better, BY FAR!!!

cited amongst batman & robin and Battlefield Earth as the worst movie that ever graced the screen. Cant believe alien franchise was brought down to the MTV Laguna Beach level. Its typical B movie - teenagers, small town overrun by monsters. Critters or Killer Klowns anyone? Not only the script and story, but the editing and lighting is bad. The first move was made in a classic way reminiscent of Aliens. AvpR is ok as a continuation, but horrible teen horror filled with modern movie cliches

GOD I wish they used better lighting in this movie. Whenever there is a scene you actually want to see whats happening, all you see is a close up of dark figures moving. Fuck it.

I got it part of that dvd set with all the pther films! and damn! it does look dark on dvd!! u find you have to adjust tv settings etc to bloody see stuff in parts!! its an ok film! abit of fun! but compared to Alien its total shite :)

I've seen a bit of the footage behind scenes... It wasn't filmed so dark, they just edited it with pc to get the dark feel and that didn't work so good, cause it's just plain too dark.

This film was kinda a letdown its overdone, the 1st one is very well edited and the creatures look real (somewhat), in this one the editing is shocking for a feature film and the creatures are not realistic, although the story was good.

I admit: not as bad as I thought it was going to be but I always thought the Alien series was supposed to be intelligent/psychological sci-fi horror. I don't understand why this was soooo much better than AVP, it made all the same mistakes the first one did and yet AVPR had even LESS developed characters. "Who was that guy that just got killed? Eh, who cares!" AVP has been hijacked by Jason Vorhee and Freddy Kruger fans. Anybody? In what way was AVPR better than AVP?
