Solar Water Pump and Irrigation System Installation

How do you figure how much drip line for the pump? So it doesn't put a strain on the pump. Do you have a turn off switch in your rain barrel so that it doesn't go empty and burn up the pump.

I have a drill pump that I bought at Home Depot for $6.97. It pumps 225 GAL of water per Hour. 3.75 GAL per Minute. I pump my water up 10 feet. Works great. The problem now is I need more rain barrels.

A washer machine hose to rain barrel then to the drill pump. The drill pump connects to garden hose.
