  • Damn, Listen to that voice!!!!

  • What a song!!! I have so many memories tied to this song

  • THIS IS THE CAPTURED LIVE VERSION AND THE ONLY ALBUM IT WAS EVER REALEASED ON

  • @madammoisella yep - and the comment you posted before this .....the one that i replied to - you removed for some mysterious reason.

  • @madammoisella - true - but there is a kick-ass version on the "captured" live album.

  • Comment removed

  • The party's over by now, but anyways, I'll say it: Happy Birthday Steve!!

  • Journey for a Super Bowl act!!! Madonna??? What a has-bern skanky old hag! NO TALENT or voice like Steve Perry. Rock on, my friend, you RULE!!

  • Just bought greatest hits, and it ROCKS. I miss Steve Perry!! We need to petition Journey for a super bowl act, now that is something! The pipes on that man, oh my! Steve was HOT then and he's HOT now!

  • Journey without Perry is like Queen without Mercury...you get the picture....just aint the same good stuff.

  • it's not the same without steve, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

  • The new singer slays ears!

  • @madammoisella Hey, I did not know that. This is one of my favorite Journey.. Journey, Chicago, and Toto are the soundtrack to my childhood and high school romances. Still They Ride, Send Her My Love, and of course Faithfully... Thanks guys for all of the great memories.....

  • Journey's most underrated song.

  • It's inevitable that Arnel is to receive loads of flack, but Arnel's vocal capacity more than fills the shoes of Steve. Furthermore, Arnel is an extremely humble person.

  • tremendo temazo arriba el rock no joda !

  • wow brings back some memories, never will be another Steve Perry

  • love this song yet it doesn't seem to get the recognition like many of their hit songs do, this song should have been a much bigger hit than a measly #34 on Billboard

  • The only Journey song where it doesn't feature Gregg Rolie or Jon Cain on keyboards

  • Love them!!!!!!!! My first concert in the 80's, had Steve Perry all over my bedroom walls!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • I only recently discovered this Journey song. Phenomenal.

  • Thumbs up if you are here cause Grown Ups ;)

  • This tune makes me feel awesome!! We need more music that makes you feel good. Sure not getting great stuff like this today!!

  • anybody here from east durham,n.c.?remember a band called blizzard?ricky wilson,william[billy] bazen,pat register,joe johnson.these guys were the second journey.they rocked live!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the partys over without perry!

  • @cbsundance steve perry is Journey............

  • Was this music used in the background of the movie Grown Ups?

  • I saw journey last night at jiffy lube live. They were good but you can see and feel the absence of steve perry. Arnel has no presence. The band cranks up the music to drown him out. They are not in sync. Don't get me wrong neil schon is a great guitarist but journey is not complete without steve.

  • wright ..........on.....brother......i just hope were ready idont care about our goverment there the reason why were in this shape now......bobafettfan32

  • This song will be the theme song for The United States when the collapse of the economy happens, The Party's Over!

  • Their new singer is amazing in that his voice is a ringer for Steve Perry's. I love your comment that Perry's voice is the soundtrack of every kid in the late 70's and 80's and if the intent is to keep Journey a nostalgia band then, in Perry's absence, I think the new guy is great. But, personally, I'd like to see Journey now evolve into something new for a new generation.

  • My best friend's last name is Gibson lol !!!!

  • I've seen Journey (4) times and I don't think they've ever played this live.....at least not recently.

  • @jrock2264 they've done it live when perry was in the band. idoubt they do it now.......arnel would hurt himself if he tried to hit those notes.

  • Journey without Perry isn't Journey.......make peace and bring him back ...the rest suck donkey cock

  • NO STEVE = NO PARTY.

  • I was in tenth grade when I first heard this and It brings all the good memories back from the 80's partying, romance and good friendships

  • Steve Perry good or bad politics within the band was the real journey who cares if he was an egotist

  • @kevieization Neal Schon is the egotist, and he still is a little bit. Steve Perry is probably one of the most selfless frontmen I've ever seen interviews of. Even if Steve was, I don't blame him, he was the best vocalist in the world.

  • You know you've got an awesome set of pipes when Mariah Carey says you have an amazing voice . Perry's voice is truly one for the ages !

  • Very sad song when you listen to what he's saying.

  • 1:47 ross valory is busted

  • Journey hit #34 in Billboard, 4-25-81. The lone studio cut, on an otherwise, live, album. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • ROFLMAO - a hair brush - that was back when I had hair. :-)

  • I was a teenager when this came out in santa cruz calif...today i'm 47 years old and the partys still not over...I love this song, I love journey and i love bing alive....this is one song that makes life worth living....go be young,go have fun.....

  • @TheGreeneyes777 RIGHT ON, Im 47 also i grew up in hayward we would cruise to half moon bay and crank journey all the way there drinkin and smokin god it was fun back then now im just sober but happy hahah

  • I love that guitar intro---it's short, but SWEET!

  • excellent drum work on this song

  • great song

  • The party was over when the only..Steve Perry.. parted ways from the band. You can never replace an original.. would not watch the morphed band now....even for free..

  • @reedis1000 The party was over when they started singing stuff like "Oh Sherry" and I have read that was due to Steve Perry taking uber-control of the band. He tried to make them like Air Supply....His ex-bandmates mostly say he was a real dick

  • THANK YOU! THIS HAS 0 DISLIKES! bout fucking time good music is appreciated

  • @thecarlover09 ...YUP YOU KNO IT BRO..GREAT BAND SEEN THEM LIVE IN BOSTON

  • you know it bro...this tune rocks and many more good ones

  • drinkin vodka and enjoying your music

  • best Journey song ever.....never got it's due

  • Steve Perry wrote this song in dedication to Bon Scot, frontman of ACD who passed away in 1980.

  • I'll never forget this song for one simple reason...: 'Grown-Ups' starring Adam Sandler.: :)

The very first time I heard this song was in this film.; Hell, I even put 'Grown-Ups' as the name of the album after I down-loaded it & applied the album-art.

  • Where is Steve ? what a Voice

  • The best part of this sone is Neal Schon's guitar work in the first 5 seconds

  • Classic.....Sure beats that s*** they put out today!

  • What a Voice wow

  • I just watched Adam Sandlers movie grownups...heard this sone in the background WOW havent heard this since Jr High......

  • @hugejazz101 I looked for this song for that same reason!!

  • saw them in concert back in the heydays -- unique and awesome -- so talented !

  • it's just unfucking believable!!!!

  • HOLY SHIZNITE!!!!! I haven't heard this song since my jr. high school days.. Yes kids, middle school used to be called jr. high school in some areas. A flood of memories right now......

  • Hard to believe this song only peaked at #34 in April 1981 on the Billboard charts

  • very underated song

  • One of their best pop and underplayed tunes. The GTR intro is magical and the vocals are soaring.

  • Just caught this song in the background of the movie Grown Ups - great songs throughout that flick.

  • @j1simple Me too! It's a gem. I'm going to try and sing this one. Steve Perry is tough.

  • @LesGomez Put your nuts in a vise, that should help.

  • @LesGomez Excellent! Make sure you have someone nearby to call 911 if you miss those high notes at the end! :-) those are killers!

  • Man one of my favorite journey tunes ever!!

    Love this shit!

  • Journey was the quintessential rock band of the 80's....that has endured with powerful songs but of course, it all starts with Steve Perry. I still have an old record of the "Infinity" album from 1978....have probably listened to this once a month. I saw Journey 4 years ago at the Washington County Fair with Steve Agulieri but it was not the same, though over 20,000 fans were in attendance. Perhaps Steve Perry will rejoin the band soon.....as Pineda is rumored to be leaving

  • brother,the partys never over

  • @duck2dodger... aside from running all of your sentences together, get an english lesson and get a grip... Journey wasn't and never will be glued together by Perry... it's the entire band that has had a hand in writing the music and makes them awesome moron... and next time do your homework... Pineda is from the Phillipines. I can't believe 7 people agreed with your nonsense.

  • my all-time favorite Journey song and one of the few that doesn't get much radio airplay

  • Journey was truly one of the best rock bands ever. Steve Perry with that Voice and Neal Schon with those guitar riffs. Long Live Journey!

  • One of those amazing, timeless songs... Journey rocks forever!!

  • This song was popular when I met my wife, to be. We're still together and have 6 grandchildren. I'm "hopelessly in love" with my wife.

  • absolutely bitchin song long live arena rock

  • niños grandes

  • he can sing, I admit, but he's quite irritating to look at, with a stupid smile. And I don't know, such a high pitched voice.... Well, it's quite different from let's say Bruce Dickinson or L-S's Van Zandt uhhh... I have the same problem with Geddy Lee from Rush. And hey, let's be democratic, and respect everyone's opinion.

  • wow that man can sing Rock ON

  • Ive had enough of all the kids now with don't stop believing.. THIS is what Journey is all about!

  • you cant beat the classics... i agree with what a lot of you others are saying music today has nothing on these bands and songs and im 17 i enjoy TRUE music

  • journey, with steve perry is in a class all by themselves. when will the original band get back together? we are waiting.

  • Back when Journey was in their prime.

  • 81' spent a whole months pay on a new Pioneer cassette player for my 74' Gran Torino Sport and it ate my JOURNEY Captured Tape....that poor customer service rep for Pioneer took a major ass-eatin....thats when Pioneer started making JUNK

  • Man songs like this have feeling and meaning to it.Not like the music we got today thats for sure.

  • To Jaimee.....missin you

  • I will never forget hearing this song for the first time all i needed was a ghetto blaster a hairbrush and I was a happy kid Rock music from the 80s was the best and Journey should put aside the blame game and send arnel back to korea or wherever he is from and realize that Steve Perry was Journey his voice was the soundtrack of every kid in the late 70s and 80s,

  • @duck2dodger dude good speech but

    1.Arnel's from the Philippines

2.If Steve does come back they aint gonna send Arnel back cuz they will perform together.

  • @duck2dodger Well Journey was around before Steve, and Neal is what makes Journey Journey. I like Steve Perry, and he is what made the band more popular, but I like the other albums like that guy with the Italian last name who sang in the 90's. Its good music whoever is singin.

  • @duck2dodger Let's keep in mind that Perry left Journey. He didn't want to record. He refused to tour. So while I love his voice, I'm not defending the guy when it comes to him being out of Journey. And Arnel is a hell of a singer. Be thankful that Journey is still around...

  • Nothing wrong with Mom and Dads music at all!!!!!

  • @6373817 No there isn't. And one day my kids will be saying that about my music, because I'm not going to introduce them to the music now but the good music.

  • @6373817 You must have cool parents, i was 12 when this came out.

  • any one on here go to k-town high school??? pm me

  • GROWN UPS!!

  • The best music was made in the 80's \m/

  • @simplyrednl f@@king awesome

  • Ross Valerie looks SO stoned at 1:30 !!

  • I had such a crush on Steve Perry...I would of called him up!

  • Awesome post! Thx man!

  • I miss the 80's.... the best of the best rock ever..

  • @Vegaslight I also miss the 80s alot just because I was born in 1984. The 80s are the best decade for rock, pop, fashion and of course the mullet (my favorite haircut)

  • How could even compare Journey to skittles err...M and M. Are you kidding me. This fraud PC generated beat box bullshit poser can't even tune a guitar, never less play one. Comparing him to Steve perry is like comparing Filet Mignon to a dollar cheese burger from MacDonalds. C'mon kids really.

  • @bigpapi33131 Well said!

  • wow this was the voice that made band sounds gay

  • PARDON MY LAUNGUAGE, BUT, GOD DAMMIT I MISS THE 80S

  • hey guys don't forget steve smith amazing drums in this song.... its history!!!!

  • steve perry will always be the greatest rock band lead singer out there I love this voice. I grew up with this music, drinkin, smoken, partying, backroads makout with girls great times. to say the least.

  • Journey rocks way better than Eminem

  • Rock stations in the early 80's helped break this band bigger than ever. This song let go of the flood gates! One of the best.

  • ROCK ON JOURNEY

  • A time when bands cared more for the quality of their sounds and albums and not the cash. A time when so called musicians actually played instruments. Not this bs computer generated crap. No layers,no talent no soul. Thank you Zepplin,Journey,Boston the who,Floyd,Van halen and so many more for making my life so much better. Baby baby baby I must now go VOMIT!!

  • Not a *huge* Journey fan, although I do like them, but that little guitar intro is the coolest thing.

  • Steve perry = One of a kind voice ,God why do we have to get old. %stars one of my favorite journey song along side city of the angels.

  • Hey guys have you heard of this really great Journey cover band? I think it's called "Journey" though i just call it Neil Schon and Friends.

  • Awesome stuff as always.

  • Journey died when Steve Perry left....such a shame. They can try all they like to find a "copy" it will NEVER sound the same or have nearly as much emotion...

  • Steve Perry anything elses is bull shit

  • great song takes me back to the great days thanx for posting this song

  • Great song! The party's just getting started. Apparently Steve is working on a new solo album!! 2011?

  • What can I say....JW

  • this song is amazing... I have to admit I'm blown away by steve smith's expertise on the drums, I'm not drummer but... if you listen carefully, the dude has this amazing finesse

  • @desertskies1965 well when you are a berklee Grad youare definitely amazing

  • I have loved Journey for years. I can't believe I never heard this song! Great!

  • Excellent JOURNEY thru the 80's........... great growin up- song....!!

  • This is the REAL Voice of Journey!!! Wow!!

  • They don't make music like this anymore. It's really sad.

  • I love Steve Perry I had a boyfriend that look just like him and I'm still in love after all these years ( P.C.K. 05-31-1962)

  • this song is true to the point if youve fallen in love with the one you want to be with for ever..steve sings this so well n u can feel the emotion put into it..

  • Steve Perry is simply the very best there is and ever will be!!

  • yes. the party is over..

  • I stand awed in the presence of greatness. Thank you !

  • This wasn't released until Captured in 1981..keyboardist not Greg Rolie

  • amazing song!!!

  • One of the best Journey songs, Schon's guitar is excellent

  • Good and underrated journey song, absolutely deserve to be in the top 10!

Follow my advise .. download spotify and you can hear all songs, if you cant get an invice then mail me. On youtube!

  • Greg Rolie was the keyboardist for this song, Jonathan Cain didn't join Journey until 1980

  • thank you

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but i think this was Jonathan Cain playing the keys on this one.

  • @Lerxst67 . kk ur corrected as of right now. the keyboardist on this song is a studio musician by the name of: Steve "key's" Rosman.

  • Kids, there is nothing wrong with mom@dads

    music.

    ROCK ON!!

  • i listen to it ALL THE TIME. good music!!

  • Life just doesn't get any better than Steve Perry singing.

  • For me hearing "The Voice" sing is like being in "Heaven"!!!

  • Dude! Why the fuck do you have arnel (gay fucker) in here? I DO NOT HEAR HIM ANYWHERE! WHAT WAS HE LIKE 2 WHEN THIS WAS RECORDED? tsk tsk Arnel sucks steve perry forever!

  • Probably my favorite Journey song and the first thing I downloaded from iTunes.

Makes me think of jasmine perfume worn by my eight grade crush.
