UP 547 is a GP38-2 and UP 1497 is an GP40-2M, one of Cotton Belt's unit delevered from MK for Sothern Paciifc. MK delevered also to SP about over 100 SD40-2Ms (former SD40's and SD45s) and three MK5000C units that didn't so well. The MK5000Cs (Three from SP and three from UP) ended up going to Utah Railway.

Looks like 1497 is a phase 1a gp40-2 and 547 is a gp35.

Love the creaking of the cars... when my family had a cottage in maine i used to fall asleep to that sound. Tracks ran about 1/4 mile up the road.

i haven't seen a cotton belt in forever. i never see much of sp colors when i visit the UP these days though don't get out of town much
