Wuu tanks to this tutorial I was able to acctually get it work! But something is still not working quite. Some words randomly doesn´t come as loud as they should. Even the meter next to the main volume fader in play shows nothing when it happens, still you can here the choir but it´s not as clear and not as loud as meantioned. I´ve increased the amount of maximum voices and something but didn´t help. Didn´t notice that happen even once on these videos, what could be the problem? Great videos!!:}

@TaantunutNaali ok well I found out that after loading an multi instrument (don´t know what kind of star trek computer you´re using cuz for me this takes like 5 minutes) it still loads some samples for sometime, just need to waiiit and wait ´til it´s ready for some action. After a couple of days of practicing I´m starting to feel comfortable working with this!! Really amazing library, You just need shit loads of patience and cpu power.

I'm trying it over and over and it's not working. Where do I get this "EastWest Virtual" in MIDI OUT?? Play is working,Cubase is working with EW in it as a plugin, everything, after weeks of trying. Finally. But Word Builder not - I don't know, what to do. :(

I have calmed down now and find that it does work as a plug-in, but NOT with my MIDI keyboard (which I meant in the first place anyway). Perhaps I need to reconfigure things in the Environment (toggle this in Logic using cmd + 8)? One thing I have learned is: don't bother using an external MIDI track, it is prone to 'exploding'.

Just when I got WordBuilder to seemingly work as a standalone app (it doesn't work at all as a plug-in in my Logic), something in the software triggered an explosion of sound and noise, busting my earphones. I hope my ears aren't damaged. I've just about had it with WB.

How do you do this in the latest version of Play (I just bought my own EWQLSC)? WorldBuilder nor the Play instrument plug-in have WorldBuilder as a MIDI in (or out) option.

Similar as mine problem - Yamaha connected through USB, no "Virtual Word Builder" option in MIDI out (and no idea how to get it there, I got no manual with instructions!) and completelly frustrated as I don't know what to do next. No option to try, nothing to do. Just sit and cry.

Mercifully, the WorldBuilder is now incorporated directly into the EWQL Symphonic Choirs player. This is available as a free download on EWQL's website, though the full upgrade of PLAY will require payment (early 2011?).

So, if you are one of the many people who went through the nightmare of setting this up in your software with various rewiring and patch bays, your nightmare is over and a glorious morning has arrived!

I have a problem with of Wordbuilder - my midi output there is not lighting up.

Iam using Loopbe1 as virtual midi cable. I already tried un- & reinstalling and so on. Thats problem exists both in standalone and in DAW.

I am already talking with the technical support, but there is no solution jet. Routing is correct. Maybe someone can help me here?

if you use windows you should download loopbe1 as virtual midi cable

Proud owner of this mighty plugin now. : ) I got it running in cubase 5.5, BUT.. strangly the first syllable is always repeated. I used the phrase "Silence Is Golden" as you did in this tutorial. Any idea how to avoid this?

Setting this up in Logic is a MAJOR pain!!! I've watched the tutorial video and followed the steps exactly however I'm getting all kinds of strange playback from note on/off. Pretty easy to set up in Sonar on the PC though. Hoping to hear back from tech support soon.

@NewbiePlayer : You may be talking about the older version of this plugin, which ran in Native Instruments "Kompakt" sampler platform. This is the newer version, which runs on our PLAY platform.

@TheJawsusNSexmanShow : the MIDI settings are only for when running as a standalone app. Since it's grayed out, it would seem you're running it as a plugin (where it doesn't matter).

For the MIDI input / output problems are 2 solutions:

1 (hard) use Midi joke + Midi OX (applications) to route your midi.

2 (easy) use a DAW like cubase: - run wordbuilder as midiplugin, (Create midi track, wordbuilder is under MIDI inserts) - symphonic choirs as vst plugin. - Your midi input needs to go to wordbuilder. - The midi output of wordbuilder needs to be symphonic chors. - Input of the Symphonic Choirs VST plugin needs to be symphonic choirs. You`re set.

When I have both applications (word builder and symphonic choirs) open and I get to the step where I am suppose to go under settings and tell symphonic choirs to get its midi data information from word builder, there is no world builder box option to check.

And when in voice properties; word builder doesnt give me a choice of word builder 1 midi port out - (like he shows in the video). All I see is the name of my interface as an option.

Does anyone know why these things might be?

Just for the record, this are the steps I took :

1-Made a MIDI file with Encore (or Sibelius)

2-Opened it with SONAR 8, used COPY ALL, opened a new project.

3-Pasted it in the new project (with tempo changes, etc)

4-Added the in the Synth the SChoir (the main window opens)

5-I load the voices for each track (I leave tracks 1 and 2 with a voice, but I know those dont play at all)

6-Add FX (select WordBuilder) and the window opens, and dont know what else from there.

I want to use symphonic choirs/wordbuilder with SONAR 8

I had this problems :

1- tracks 1&2 have no sound (I fixed it by adding the MIDI file 2 tracks above, that will remain mute, and the 4 of the choir do have sound)

2-Sopranos only reach a G4 above, so half of the notes are out of range and dont sound (fixed it by adding ALTOS in the SOP voice)

3-Have NO IDEA how to use wordbuilder with Sonar (I only could add it in the FX and open it, but nothing more)

I'm wondering if Symphonic Choirs has various voices that are compatible with WordBuilder. Symphonic Orchestras has a crazy amount of different voices for each instrument, so I was wondering if SC did the same thing--like if there's a standard Choral choir, then a Jazz choir, then a Gospel choir, then an Operatic choir, or something like that. Can anyone who owns the program fill me in? Thanks!

Back to the whole pirating topic, did nobody else notice that the soundsonline website was COVERED with discounts, price reductions, sales, and "buy one get one free" sales over the holiday season? EastWest does this every few months from what I've noticed, so price isn't even a worthy argument.

Apparently antiprix if you are using a PC, you have to use a program like midiyoke or loopbe in order to link the two programs together.

I have download loopbe but it doesn't work too , I have the sound in symphonic choirs but not in the world builder . ( I don't if it's important to say but I have a E-MU Xboard49 synth.) , thanks for your help.

The "in" in wordbuilder should be set to whatever controller that you're using. Your "out" should be set to loopbe. In the play engine, your midi in ports, the only one that should be selected is loopbe. Everything else should be unchecked.

It was really challenging to setup. Do not even attempt to run this plugin without a quad processor. The minimum specs simply will not cut it...

@bunker8digitallabs I'm running on a duo with four gigs of RAM and a 5400 rpm hard drive, and it works beautifully! I'm admittedly a little above the minimum requirements but far from recommended.
