  • He doesn't ask for a chair- that instantly means he has a psychosomatic limp, not because he might be too prideful to ask, or that he won't be in the room for long.

He's not going to his brother for help- well, maybe his "brother" doesn't live in or near London . . .

Most impressive part was Benedict actually delivering this whopper line.

And Shirley, my phone port is scratched up. And I'm not a drunk.

  • why is it slowed down?

  • "There you go, say you were right"

"I was right. ...Right about what?"

    "The police don't consult amateurs."

  • Does this show on BBC America?

  • @PinkRedBrisk well, if you get PBS (Public Broadcasting Services) they will air Series 2 May 6th. Hope that helps!! :D I can't wait...

  • Watson: That was remarkable.

Sherlock: That's not what most people say.

    Watson: What do they say?

    Sherlock: "Piss Off!"

    Just brilliant!

  • @joshyfowler1997 haha one of my favorite quotes... what am I saying? the entire script is my favorite quote!! :D

  • I think doing something like that is easily possible, and yes I mean in that difficulty in that speed. People just aren't connected to those areas of their mind due to improper training and other stresses in life which in-turn stops them from analysing clearly. As he points out later in the series, he doesn't bother learning other stuff for the sheer reason of keeping the ability to concentrate on his job. Love Sherlock! <3

  • This is slowed down. Why?

Also: Sherlock is a BRILLIANT series!!!!!!

  • *squee*

  • I wish I could read people and things like him...

  • "Watson, are you aroused?"

  • wow, that's a lot of talking.

  • I discovered this show about three days ago, and so far i have watched every single episode several times and spent every waking moment watching fan videos of Sherlock clips and beautiful moments of the beautiful Benedict Cumberbatch.

  • I O U

  • THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER IF YOU'VE READ THE BOOKS. <3<3

  • @Insomiak How do you know?

  • @Insomiak You can't possibly know that for sure. You read the books beforehand, so you've never had experience of not knowing the storyline, however, I do agree it is good if you've read the books. Especially seeing the transition from watch to phone :D

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW I watched the show and then read the books...

  • @Insomiak haha me too! I found the complete original illustrated series for like 7 dollars. I was ecstatic :D

  • i have never watched this series but i think i would like it. i have watched doctor who and i really like Moffats writing. can somone tell me if this series is worth watching xx

  • @animelover5076

It is SSSSSSSSOOOOOOO worth watching. It's a great show with great writing. I admit, I was very skeptical about a modern-day Sherlock Holmes, but now I'm a Sherlock addict. =) Definitely watch it. (If you've read any Sherlock Holmes, then you'll like the show even more since it stays pretty close to the books.)

  • @angeldemusique1115 thanx! :) i just finish watcing the first episode and it was amazing, i LOVE benedict as Sherlock. i have read some of the books and i like that the charecters are so different yet very similiar as well. (its a shame that there's only three episodes in a series tho, i need more! lol xx

  • So I see its not just Spanish tv !!! One spanish tv channel bought the series (season 1) almost one year ago, but never broadcasted it !!. Its gonna be aired on January in 2012, so they're like ONE SEASON DELAYED.....no wonder people watch things ilegally in internet. I watched this months ago and will watch season 2 soon after its broadcasted in UK...(as soon as some good samaritan adds subtitles *lol*)

  • Is Series 2 going to be airing on BBC America the same day it airs in the UK?

  • @101wuzup1 Was the first season on BBC America??

  • @MyPurseBilly It aired on either BBC America in October, which is obviously a big difference from the 2010 airing on BBC1 in UK. I just found out that it's airing on BBC America in May though, so I'm going to have to find some other way to watch it in January.

  • It's upsetting that a show as good as this is overshadowed by the shit hollywood has been laying on sherlock holmes.

  • This goes beyond ear candy. Ear therapy. I actually feel like I just took an extremely effective relaxant.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!! what i dont love if the looooooong wait for series 2! T_T but if its as good as series one, its gonna be worth it!

  • I could listen to his voice all day... *happy sigh*

  • When he says "that the police don't consult amateurs" makes me shout "BOOM" ownage

  • this is an exact copy from the novel a study in scarlet. but even then this was magnificient

  • @kebrose Not an exact copy, but it's scary how it shows how little people have actually changed. All the scriptwriters had to do was change the technology. They didn't even have to fake the war. How much does that say about humanity?

    In happier news, Sherlock's hot.

  • i dont really like watching anything on bbc but this was wicked!

  • waiting for season 2...

  • OMG! I really WANT THAT DVD!!! I HAVE TO GET IT! Benedict is So AMAZING actor! <3 :)))))

  • I like what comes after this scene:

Sherlock: Spot on then, didn't expect to be right about everything.

John: Harry is short for Harriet.

    SHERLOCK: Harry’s your sister.

JOHN: What exactly am I supposed to be doing here?

    SHERLOCK: *agony* Sister!!!

  • Haha I challenge anyone to try to memorize this :)

  • what makes this scene even more well written is the fact that they didnt make what he says intricate to the point that it seems like total bs.

  • WOW! That. is. ASTOUNDING, that ANYONE could actually do that! XD

  • @7Write4This9Heart7 i think people can do that if you think about it, its not that hard, just a matter of paying attention and noticing the little things. plus he's really clever sooo...

  • @7Write4This9Heart7 I actually do this for a living. Im a Mentalist, and have been a Holmes fan since I was a child, obsessed, i've studied Deduction and Mentalism my entire life. Im so glad people are loving and connecting to this wonderful adaptation!

  • This scene is just so amazing. A character (Sherlock) can only be as smart as the writer, and Steven Moffat is a freaking genius as proven here.

  • I love Benedict Cumberbatch! He is absolutely gorgeous gaah!

  • This is slower than the original... BBC America did this on purpose?

  • @hardtogetausername The uploader might have to avoid a dcma notice.

  • @hardtogetausername Yeah, the clip seem to be slowed down and the effect that has on Benedict Cumberbatch's voice makes him sound even more like Alan RIckman. LOL!

  • cut out the best part....reason I was looking for it.

  • Haa;

"I didn't expect to be right about everything."

    "Harry's my sister" :L

  • OHMIGOD I'm addicted to this show. xD

  • @xXSwiftPeltXx who isn't!

  • British TV doesn't translate well to American TV... haven't they heard about that? Obviously.... no.

  • @marchingfluteMMVIII Considering we've stolen quite a few shows of theirs, I'm going to go out a limb and say you're wrong. Besides, I know quite a few fellow Americans that absolutely adore British programming.

  • What the heck is BBC Amercia. Seriously.

  • @LaSeuleEtoile BBC America is the channel for America on cable and satellite where a select number of shows from BBC are shown, usually about a week behind or so than that of the shows in the UK.

  • @NishaWinchester and channel 4 too

  • WOW! he's is so smart!!!!!! WOW! My friend told me about this and she kept going on and on about so I thought: I've got to see it or she'll keep going on about it... result: WOW!
