How can anybody say this is than Portugal? John Gourley is, in my opinion, one of the best singers/songwriters of the last 10-15 years, but this sounds like something I would've listened to when I was a whiney 14 year old scene kid. It just doesn't even compare lyrically or musically. If screamo is you thing then whatever, but to deny that John isn't better in Portugal in basically every single way is just insane.

Bands like this were a dime a dozen back then, I guarantee these guys would've just gotten lost among all the other "screamo" bands that almost made it (Name Taken, From First to Last, Noise Ratchet, etc...). Anybody not named Thursday, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, or The Used just came and went (unfortunately).

I know its cool to hate on the myspace era/screamo but this album was one of the best examples of post-hardcore/sceamo at the time. And only the lead singer is now in portugal the man, so the whole comparison doesnt really make sense. You guys are saying something like' dude destinys child effing blew how could they make that poppy stuff, but BEYONCE is a musical genius' AOAG might not be your cup of tea, but they were good and they gave ryan the juice he needed to make portugal.

well chiodos has been active b4 anatomy of a ghost, and if u rlly listen to the singing in chiodos from proffessional studio, and the singing in portugal. the man, the styles are different, the only similarities were that they were both post hardcore bands with low-quality recordings at the time
