I think Scarlet practically made me shit bricks the first time I encountered her. And then when I FINALLY survived up to her second mode, I almost shit bricks again because I was like "YES I finally beat he-...WAIT WHAT THE SHIT IS GOING ON HERE?!"

Took me forever to beat her. Ironically the final boss was MUCH easier; only took like 2-3 mins and didn't die once.

2:01 to the end - the "real" fight with Scarlet - after the porcelain Facade is gone... I loved playing this fight, because the best weapon against her was to get in her face with the combat knife and dodge like crazy. It was the first fight in this game that FELT like a fight.

It would be impossible for them to replicate the feelings invoked from these Silent Hill games forever; By starting with a clean slate, they just avoided the problem of everything slowly getting worse and instead just took a leap of faith. As much as we all hate to admit it. But I have an optimistic outlook on the new Silent Hill and the new composer. There's my opinion.

I find needlers harder. all you do is take out her leg pot with shotgun then own her with crowbar. and in 2nd form use knife she can't move. my girlfriend challenged me to try without shotgun help. and I did. she was still as easy. she hit me more and i actually had to heal yes. but still easy lol

Really? Silent Hill: Homecoming is a great game, but it's not the "best ever", at least in my opinion. I mean Silent Hill 2, Dead Space, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Fatal Frame, and Resident Evil 2 are a lot better than SH: Homecoming. And in terms of sountrack, I agree. No other horror game reaches the brilliance of Silent Hill's OST. As for boss battles, please-the bosses are too easy.

I think the game still retains that creepy and disturbing feel from the previous entries, but I still think that Homecoming wasn't the best game in the series, bar none. That honour, in my opinion, still goes to Silent Hill 2. I still don't understand, why did the Pyramid Head come out in this game? It was so random...didn't Pyramid Head appear in the second (correct me if I'm wrong) because it meant something to James's psychology or something like that.

The form of Pyramid head was created from a painting James saw in the Silent Hill historical society when he went with Mary, the painting really stuck with him in his mind. That painting can be seen in the historical building in the second game. Pyramid Head is the embodiment of guilt and punishment I think....sorry for rambling on I'll stop typing now

Y'know, me and Silent Hill have a bittersweet relationship. I love SH's skill at creating these harshly isolating and forboding environments, but I hate the combat and generally the story ranges from very good to okay. The music always does a great job in setting the mood (This being a better example of that) and the puzzles sometimes take a good amount of brain power and observation to solve. I really like the series, but at the same time I kind of hate it. As I said, bittersweet.

Scarlet was a real bitch the first time, took me 5 days. I had a sliver of health and even when I got refilled to halfway after reloading a checkpoint, I couldn't defeat her! And I had like 9 bullets for the pistol and nothing more. I had no health drinks or first aid kits, it was awful. Until I realized I had a serum rofl I had completely forgotten I had that hah and I never noticed it because I knew I had no healthdrinks or medkits so I figured what's the point! Then I managed to beat her.
