anyone has an idea if this one is good from removing i.e. the bassdrum from a vocal+bassdrum track? last time i managed to do something by finding an isolated drum from the rest of the track, inverting its phase and overlaying it to the track - so long for the nonlinearity of audio summing/processing.
@stjarthol It's not able to take a full song mix and remove the vocals. There is software that does that somewhat. Many karaoke machines have a setting that can do it if the voca track was recorded right. But iZotope can see the while spectrum of sound, and you can see the notes being sung, and if there are thud sounds or anything that doesn't share the vocal spectrum, you can see it and remove it. It's not magic, but it can really do some amazing things. Just look at this video and see.
Astounding before/after comparisons. When the opening door and clinking glasses were removed from what sounded like a live club gig I became a believer. Unreal. Makes soundsoap look like a toy.
I've used this program for quite some time now. I have to say that in my opinion it is the best on the market. I've cleaned up many cassette tapes for clients and it has done a magnificent job. Great software made by some brilliant people. I give it a 4.8 out of a 5 rating!
i own izotope rx and i find it best if you start at a verry low setting first "4-5 db" or lower and work up from that piont...less artifacts...if you practice with this software a little...and i do mean a little...you will find it works verry-verry well...i love this program...it will save many a file!!
best Programm out there...

@nairobibeats This is perfect for removing a bass drum from a vocal track. You'll see the BD hits and just delete them.
