  • what are u using for carburetion?

  • @corekid420 I built my own fuel injection system for it.

  • Id love to see this thing on the quarter mile.

  • ....Where the HELL did you get a tank engine!?!?

  • That is ausome! the car maynot go fast ...but it will pull the shit out of anything! =)

  • MAYBE IT WILL BE BETTER IF I TURN ON THE RADIO! .........NO IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE HELPED. WHAT?!

  • I'd like to see that on the road :)

  • Any road video?

  • holy fuckin shit!!!

  • Do you have any footage of it driving, I'd love to see it in action. Also have you ever had it dynoed at the wheels?

  • Holy shit Loco', that is too wicked for words! Helluva job! I ain't had a hard-on in 5 years, and that made it come to attention! (kidding of course... I scare the shit outta' Viagra). You are right, there were a number of engines used in the Sherm'. I'm assuming that's the Ford GAA V8. But of 'em all, I think the Chrysler A57 multibank engine was the most challenging piece of engineering of any of them... VERY COOL! I'd like to see that 'Stank run!!! Please lemme' know if you got a vid of it.

  • MY PC SOUND SYSTEM JUST EXPLODED!

  • @ROCKSOLID19 WHAT

  • @LocomotiveBreth fuck yea mate the bill for 5 new speakers is on its way !

  • @ROCKSOLID19 same here and i never evan turned it up loud lolol

  • @ROCKSOLID19 I CAN'T HEAR YOU, WHAT??

  • amg, i had my subwoofer to the max... i just orgasmed from the sheer bass lol

  • there are gear heads, then there are insane gear heads!

  • in the shuffling madness, of the locomotive breath, runs the all-time loser, headlong to his death.

  • Some old german guy is gonna hear this thing and go running for his panzerfaust

  • Is it me or the tank engine is quite small compared to a tank size?

  • @sgtkar98 they were relatively small tanks. the abrams has about 1500hp, but weighs 60+ tons! The shermans were made en masse while supplies were short...the goal was to put so many into the field, it didn't matter how powerful a given one was. Fortunately, the germans went the other way and made technically awesome tanks, but too few and late to matter. I've seen figures of 88k shermans produced to about 2k tiger1+tiger2 tanks.

  • @kenfo0 Hitler was a clever cunt but a bad gambler. Did not think of mass production and simplicity, just go in and do battle.

  • @ROCKSOLID19 Hitler was a scumbag of epic proportions. He was an abject coward, who cowered in a bunker blaming everyone else for his failure, sending old men and children to fight while he cowered until he killed himself. Had people listened to Churchill instead of chamberlain, a lot of heart ache could have been avoided. I wish at the end of the war, hitler and the rest of the top nazis had been carted off to USSR and lived out their days diseased, freezing and frightened.

  • @Intwatpapsmir2 Of course he was a scumbag I never doubted that! Cretinous too. Because of him, the Sherman tank was built so his empire of insanity can be erased and is very fitting for an engine from that tank to be fitted into a Mustang. No denying the cunt was a genuis but his mind was mushed, which was caused by the nature of his YOUTH.

  • Hmm, the sherman tank engine is not an inline engine but a radial...

  • @Iamnottheyeti The Sherman's had several different engine combinations. This is one of them.

  • @LocomotiveBreth - yeah they had radials and V8's as well as 6 cylinder diesels

  • @LocomotiveBreth

of an inpressive 7 differant factories. one even in Canada, i beleive that was LOCO, but don't hold your breath for it?

  • @LocomotiveBreth And its a V8, not an inline...

  • @Iamnottheyeti The first Shermans had a sh*tty radial engine that was low on power and constantly fouling. Then Ford came out with this engine for it, which is NOT an inline engine. It's an 1100ci all aluminum V8 with dual overhead cams.

  • Maybe get this beast onto the road & then cut yourselves a fine commercial for Depends brand undergarments. "Depends" if ya'll ever get it into 2nd gear, tho .......

  • Holy Cow !!!!!

  • HELL YEA! GO MUSTANG!

  • Will it steer? Only to left?

  • @launger It steers straight just fine :)

  • @LocomotiveBreth lmao, nice

  • It reminds me of one of those old "rat" cartoon cars where there's a hole in the roof (can't see over engne) and some drooling ugly rat with bloodshot eyes is grabbing gear on some huge shifter!!!! I guess it would take quite a tower of a hood to cover that monster Ford motor. Should use it in a Monster Truck instead.

  • Dude... Its been almost 3 years since you made this video... How much more have you finished the car? Is it street worthy yet?

  • Damn, it is going on three years. I guess I better get busy.

  • and now it is a musTANK :D

  • get a neck brace brah

  • that sound must numb the brain and distort your eyesight slightly

  • Did you finish it? Drive it on the road? Let's see some other videos......

  • Must have tractor trailer springs on the front end of that thing! That's gotta weigh 2.5-3 times as much as a big block production engine!

  • The engine is all aluminum and has been lightened to 960 lbs., not much more than a blown big block. The suspension is Mustang II and the whole car will be under 3200 lbs.

  • Insane. That engine is gonna torque that thing onto it's lid.

  • thanks for the update man! :D I"m still watching and checkin and waitin to see how it turns out :D

  • @LocomotiveBreth with no interior!

  • They probablly built the front clip like a funny car no lights or anything just metal. The SherMust! Like you should must built it or the Sherman-Mustang! Well this is all that Hot Rodding is all about. Putting large engines in lite weight cars. Fantastic! This would a salute to the Old WWII pilots that came home and felt something was missing after fling fast fighters. They were the makers of hot rodders.

  • that thing can break axles in neutral :P

  • Using a bit of history like that in a car is a bit like using the Mona Lisa for toilet paper, albeit in a very different idiom.

  • Yeah, but the Mona Lisa is 3 ply and sooo soft.

  • LMAO haha yea

  • the torque would probably bend the chase

  • One sat on Ebay to a no-sale a few months ago for under $1500. There are still a fair number around. For the longest time nobody had any use for them and many have been scrapped. They were a neat engine but not the end all of American tank engines. I think the experimental air cooled CAT diesel was better.

  • i have no idea what possesed you to do this, however i respect the effort. The sherman was created out of need for a quick easy to produce and operate answer to the armored offensive in WWII. It would be safe to say this project will not be easy, quick, or simple to operate. Good luck!

  • 2 years man, when do you think it will be done?

  • I gotta see this car when your done

  • i love the demonic whine at the start, just chills you to the bone!

  • MUSTANK!

  • good thinking dude

i reckon he should paint that on the side

  • that car should be nicknamed "pure bass"

  • 'the tank'

  • I got my PC pluged into an amp with 10.5 KG speakers my coffee is dancing wtf

  • diesel?

  • Comment removed

  • OMG! Goose bumps and stiff nipples, JUST on the sound :D

  • Its so insane that its brilliant! Plus is there any finished pics?

  • bet you had to get some big front springs eh

  • Man, you are nuts!

  • lol

  • ahhh i see, welll done!!!!

  • Maaaaan u are way too crazy! Would love to get more info about that project =D

  • wayyy wayy too heavy, wont turn im sure or have any rear bite

  • A car like that only needs to go in a line

  • god help him if he breaks a part ... i dont think pep boys or jegs stocks 70 year old tank engine parts ....ford owners are a lil short on common sense

  • lol you must be a chevy driver too

  • i drive a chevy at the racetrack tow it there with a dodge and smoke fords when i get there

  • you're just jealous! 1100cu in all aluminum!

  • nope sorry if i was gonna spend 50 grand on a motor it'd be a keith black hemi

  • Haha, thats cool, but this is interesting. It's not about best bang for the buck with 50k... if that was the case, then a twin turbo on a boss engine would have done the trick, this was about fun.

  • you can still find plenty of parts for them they were common

  • being that its all aluminum, it doesn't weigh much more than a 460 or 454.

  • Dude it's obviously a drag car. It's a FUCKING TANK ENGINE.

  • not everything is done for a practical reason.. ever done something simply because you can???

  • how you gonna get the rest of the front end on looks like that engine barely fits the car

  • where are you going to mount the man tank gun?

might be heavy for the car's roof.

  • it might understeer a bit...probably will have to relocate the battery too :)

  • cool

  • Way too heavy..

  • 960 lbs.

  • Any updates guys? We are talking about this down under in New Zealand! Mad skills!

  • this is sick i whant to know how it ride ?

  • ScotchRB30DET,

    You were right!

Rolls/Rover Meteor engine, a Merlin derivitive used in the Centurion tank.

    Hope th

  • for the record, I dare you to find a mic that can record an open-headered BEAST like that with decent quality at close range.

  • any mic just pull it far enouph back I am a live sound engnieer

  • that would be cool to put it in a hummer

  • Where is the redline?

  • Dude wat if u feed a T4 turbo with each individual cylinder ? |..|,(O.o)

  • screw the engine I WANT THE WHOLE TANK!

  • town hall would let you build the concreet fence you wanted then

  • 500hp and 1050 lbs of torque stock right? and it's aluminum and dohc too...

  • that was used to move a 30 ton beast at 30MPH...GUESS WOT IT'LL DO TO A CAR

  • What displacement? Theres a guy in the UK with a 27 liter Rover Meteor V12 tank motor in a Rover SD1, just wondering how big this one is.

  • Meteor is way bigger...

    it's a Rolls-Royce engine not rover i think

  • I always remember it being called a Rover Meteor for some reason... i know its the same as the rolls royce merlin engine though, except it doesnt have a supercharger or something.

  • yes, you're right

    i confused meteor and merlin

  • WOw awesoem a tank engine in a car COOLL!

  • Fast in a streight line! shite on corners, fuel, stopping, etc.

Or is it alloy, still it must weigh a lot?

  • Hey man, I LOVE IT!!!

    Street legal?

  • Did you ever hear of the Hotwheels line called Acceleracers? There's this one car that is a Mustang, and has the engine sticking out of the hood. It would be awesome if this was customized to look like it.

  • puts a whole new meaning on american muscle

when u get done PLZ SHOW IT OFF ON HERE MAN

    i am beggin u dood

i mean could u just inmagine the look onsome guys face if he was cocky enough to street race u with that

    id be like

not even worth getting a ticket over

    but ok lets do it

and just think to ur self as ur 20 lights ahead of him in 30 sec that this engine was made for a tank but put in to a super mustange

  • Just saw this car in Hot Rod magazine. Congrats man, I think you should twin turbocharge it. :)

  • Dude Were Can I Find One Of These?? It Just Totally Blows My Mind What a twin turbo setup would do for that thing, i read ure input on a forum H.A.M.B i think u said u bought 5 but i dont know, but man that engine is SWEET!

  • Thanks, I don't know where any complete spare engines for sale are right now. They occasionally turn up at miltary surplus dealers.

  • yeah right... imagine the size of the turbos thatthis motor needs to produce the necessary air flow... like an 2.30

    AJEahuehuAEHUae

  • You could run a quad turbo setup using 4 large turbos such as T51R's, T88's or say some large Holset's from a CAT C15, i cant say how many cyls. that motor has but assuming its an 8, you would have custom manifolds made so that 2 cylinders spool each turbo per side, route all 4 into a collector, intercool the charge and run piping into the intake again.

  • yeah it has 8 cylinders

but man, why you would turbocharge such a low rpm engine?

i think the redline is about 3k rpm...

maybe a supercharger is a better choice

  • never thought of that... suppose you could run it with a high boost pulley and make far more power than a turbocharger setup. I completely forgot engines that big dont rev well...

  • yeah..

    this engine has 1100 cid

    yes!! 1100!!!

imagine the amount of torque o.O

  • Nice! but i don't like to see it in a mustang i rather see it in a restored Sherman tank.

  • What a bunch of heroes! Well done. When do you hope to have it finished? How much power is it making? How long have you been working at this? Do you know a guy named Charlie Broomfield in Britain is doing a similar thing? He's got it road legal now, you guys can settle the rivalry at the drags!

  • A fine line between stupidity and genius if I ever saw it.All I can say is holy shit.Let us see this thing running and how muc h does it weigh?
