Believe it or not, my best pal and I saw Thin Lizzy at Royal Oak Music Theater near Detroit in '77. The "warm up" band was AC/DC. Got booed off the stage!
Everyone wanted Philip and the Boys!
AC/DC is great, but they still back up Lizzy in my book!
John Sykes later went on to front Blue Murder. They had some underground success. He is an awesome axeman. Oh and @mduckworth you are a child who needs an ass whipping.
2,46......beatin drums , for the lonely one , send you up to heaven . Phil Lynot in vocals and bass Brian Downey in drums (one of the Best drumers in rock history)
i can dig this tune for how it adds an element of funk but remains to be straight ahead rock at the same time and especially love the wah wah action for that 70"s street feel. very much as bad as band THIN LIZZY.
THIN LIZZY absolutely one of the greatest, most melodic, lyrical, charismatic, under-rated most kick-ass rock n' roll combos of all time--- great frontman Phil Lynott(r.i.p.), great drums, master guitarists throughout their prolific career. I am a huge fan as I know there are many more who really dig this band. THIN LIZZY . 'nuf said.
@canalesfrankie im going to see them in olympia, dublin in february.the great man wont be there but i'll raise a glass to his spirit in the bar beforehand.Phil, you were and still are a genius.
@canalesfrankie UNDER-RATED????? BY WHO EXACTLY???? It amazes me when people say they're under-rated. They were one of the biggest bands on the planet in the late 70s/early 80s.

@kkiimbel It was based on actual persons as far as i know. They were local heavies or gangsters in Dublin.
